I would like to add that why hasn't the pension or bungalows alloted to politicians done away with but in government officials pension has been stopped ...which is actually a bad thing where as even if a person becomes chief minister once on their lifetime they get get a government bungalow for lifetime free after wards at least in up this was started by Mayawati... people clear tough exams to become get govt jobs or IAS PCS & afterwards nothing ...but politicians get all free goodies and crores of money from govt. Schemes too .. Every department is corrupt ,they don't let any normal projects pass without under the table and all officials are involved ...

On every contract approval, even in a very small district like mine, any official would demand at least 2-3 lakh rupees for the approval for contracts worth 10 lakh or more and the commission is more if the contract is worth more money. Another side income/bribe is in promotion. Since, the power of promoting low level officials is completely in the hands of IAS officers, if they're working in depts like RDPR, each promotion costs laks and lakhs of rupees for each lower official.

Apart from the salary, if you serve for certain time, you get the opportunity to get PHD, Masters in your chosen topic. You get to choose which field to work on. Also gets a lot of connections. So If you are active till 60 , I am quite sure you don't need to worry about money much. Also govt does appoint retired IAS officers as head/director of some departments (STATE / UNION)
The New Bharat, with lot of young aspirants are likely to Join IAS, & IPS. Both the Services build up a strong nation, apart from the Military & Defence. Which can put an end to Crimes & Corruption. They have to have a decent salary & allowances with a good accommodation in a gated community, that helps the people living in the society as well. # Better World 😊
