This video was taken about 1 hour after Cat 1 Hurricane Ian moved inland. There was significant flooding in Cherry Grove, and we sadly lost part of the Cherry Grove Pier. There are other areas in North Myrtle Beach that had flooding, trees down, roof and siding damage, etc., coupled with power outages to some residents.

We were supposed to have left Ohio this morning to come down, but I pushed it back to Thanksgiving a couple of months ago, so thankful I did that. Prayers and love to all.

Good News, I was in Cherry Grove today and the streets are clear with no standing water YET I did not go all around Cherry Grove, so I am not positive about the entire area yet I think you should be fine as many cars where on Ocean Blvd in Cherry Grove this evening. Prayers your property was not damaged.

Thanks Tara for these images of home while I'm currently overseas. Yeah, my wife was going to hit the Cherry Grove pier to fish next week. Hope they get it repaired soon as I love going out there also. Thanks again and stay safe!
Thank you Mike! Yes the Cherry Grove Pier is awesome, and best place to fish in NMB, and they have been good with fixing the pier after hurricanes, so let's hope it's soon & your wife catches a big one! Stay safe overseas!
I stayed on Ocean Boulevard about 3 weekends ago. At the Baywatch. Me and my wife fell in love with North Myrtle we were thinking about moving down there within the next year or so. I appreciate the upload. We absolutely loved Rockefellers. And the Golden Griddle made a few friends there.

I purchased my first home in Crescent Beach on 17 Ave South across from the old Crescent Beach Arcade that is now gone and just land last January. I bought my first home there in 1994, and I do miss it, but I'm happy to be back at my native home in the Great State Of Texas. Oh, you drove right by it. It looks great, thank you for sharing. Thanks Ginger! How cool is that, I drove by your former home in Crescent Beach and you saw it on the video! Texas is a great state, and there is a lot to be said about going back to your native home, and that is why New England still holds such a big place in my heart and my accent too, LOL!
Nice video of my home for about 50 yrs. My daddy was in law enforcement for North Myrtle Beach for 25 yrs before retiring. He was here before the beaches merged. I lived in Ocean Drive in my high school years. I have lived in Cherry Grove since then. A lot of roof damage but family stayed safe. 1st storm I have stayed in my 50 yrs here.
Hi Tanya! It's a great place to call home! That is wonderful your dad was in LE here for so long. I'm so happy to hear you are all fine and just had roof damage. It can be scary staying here for a hurricane yet a Cat 1 isn't too bad.

That's for shearing That place seems to get a lot of thunderstorm storms to what's causing so much storms there.. What's the wind gust apart of the hurricane? It seemed to be still windy?? In the aftermath??

The city, hotels, resorts and property management companies are used to dealing with this, so a lot of clean up is already being done and I'm sure you all will have a great vacation!! Everyone wants to move to the beach until a hurricane comes, which is inevitable when you live on the East Coast. Just don't whinge when it happens.
No offense but no home that could possibly be swept away by a hurricane is worth $3 mill lol call me crazy lol😂
Actually the Tilghman section has a VERY wide beach so the likelihood of that is rare. Plus people who can afford a luxury oceanfront home do it for enjoyment, family and friends, and can surely afford to live that lifestyle. I wish you all the best!
