Just got one installed. Now I want to learn more on the programming such as pressure adjusting.

I just had one of these installed yesterday, as my old pump 700 feet down died suddenly, and we had to have someone out quickly. The installer placed the transducer into the 1/4” hole where he removed the pressure switch nipple( on the tank tee, before the tank). How much of an issue is that? It seems to be working, but according to the literature supplied the transducer needs to be after the tank, on a straight run, and not near any fittings. Fail on all of those points. Also, the transducer wire is zip tied to the motor wire, and the extra is bunched up and twist tied under the control box. It seems like the extra wire should be removed, and where the transducer wire crosses the motor wire it should run at 90 degrees, not zip tied in parallel.
What do you do if you were me? Does all this make a big difference? I was thinking of turning off my water, and buying a brass 1x1x1/4 tee and moving the transducer to a straight run between my tank and water softener. Does the transducer need to be after a water softener? Just looking for thoughts. Thanks for all of your great videos.

I’m replying to my own post. I fixed it cause it was pissing me off. Now it’s in a tee I added to a straight run and there’s a 1/4 plug where the nipple of the pressure switch was. Nothing like a shoddy install.

A well guy installed a PID 20 on my well. It is a 4gal min well. When I open up the water the water blast out so fast the static water level can not keep up. And the safety switch shuts the system down. On the auto start shows 62 psi

It sounds like you should have a cistern or just installing larger pressure tanks would work. The average household uses approximately 300 gallons per day. I have installed these in low producing wells but the well was deep enough to have a 250' column of water to work with. The well I speak of is 520' deep, the 1.5 hp, 7gpm pump is set at 510', and the water static level is 260'.... So if you had a 5 or 7 gpm pump in the well and a large colum of water to work with like my example, you could put in two 100 gallon pressure tanks in tandem. You would then have 200 gallons in the pressure tanks, and over 200 gallons in the wells water column. This would then give you 400+ gallons at your disposal before the drive gave an error code. Hope that helps.
