Its not for me listening to Stranglers songs without keyboards, if you say hughs done 10 solo albums he should just play his own material and just do a couple of Stranglers songs in the encore. Glad you enjoyed the gig and you met Hugh.
I've never understood why Cornwell left the Stranglers, since now they are just separately playing the same music they did together. Did he cut his nose off to spite his face? It is a bit of a joke.
@@GodfreyTempleton I guess his prolific output since leaving the Stranglers may be an indication. Personally, I much prefer his post-Stranglers material to the stuff the Stranglers have put out since he left. In my opinion, 10 wasn’t a great album and Hugh left at the right time. Either way, fans of good music are always on a winner where Hugh is concerned. And we mustn’t lose sight of the fact that, sadly, the Stranglers is now really only a cover band given that just one of the original line up is playing in the group.
@@GodfreyTempleton Listen to the Rockonteurs podcast episode with JJ. Basically, JJ said Hugh thought he deserved more recognition, stopped playing guitar on stage and basically turned into a bit of a dick - Hugh thought he was bigger and better (and I saw Hugh play last night and he was excellent!)

Love Hugh..But its obviously time to chill out and retire.
This man and the other three, was on my bedroom wall in 1978. He is a legend, no doubt about it but, I've no interest in his music.
