That F1 car in AC is ridiculously unrealistic that it's kind of a pain to watch it. It goes through the Carousel 150km/h. That is plain idiotic. Real F1 car would literally broke its wheels just be entering Carousel practically at any speed. Some corners you'd need twice the downforce of a real F1 car to pass it at that speed. Developers seems not to understand downforce at all. In their model seems that the faster you go around the curve, the more stable you are which is again just idiotic. Downforce is more less lineraly proportional to the speed while centrifugal force is proportional to the square of speed.
And I don't even wanna talk about bumps. Real life Nordschleife is as bumpy as hell, no F1 car would survive at even drastically lower speed. In AC Nordshleife has literally zero bumps. Even Carousel is as flat as baby's butt.

@@MetoFulcurm Yes it's basic high-school physics like Bernoulli's equation. Therefore downforce is only proportional to square of speed not higher degrees like in airplane wings since most of air flow is laminar.
Therefore difference between downforce at 360km/h and 300km/h is exactly 44%, which is not "a lot more" at least not in my dictionary.
This is amazing driving! Also the grip of this car is unbelievable, some of the turns going at full throttle is crazy!
yeah the legend Nick Heidfeld did once a Nordschleife lap in his 2007 BMW F1 car.
It was just a fun lap and he did something like a 6:30 without even trying at all.
For this lap they limited the top speed to something like 280 kmh if i remember correctly, they didnt gave him the full slick tires and in the footage u see that this was not even close to what the car is capable off.
I bet he could have done this with one hand^^ they didnt wanted to damage the car thats why they nerfed it so much for this run.
im actually sure the v10 and v8 f1 cars from the year 2000 and later could beat the Porsche 919 lap record, if they invested some time into tweaking the cars for the track. I guess the record would be absolutely smashed by F1 cars.

A cup of bleach Way too fast and intense. And it's to dangerous because there are almost no run off areas. A fast lap in real life is almost impossible, especially a race distance
Fortunately we have the opportunity to quit watching F1 and start watching TT and Irish Road Racing if we wanna see racers with serious balls. :)
Aside from the serious danger risk, the slipstream slingshot would be fatal on some parts of the track and cause a lot of collision, the track is way too diverse for the cars, the weather is different around the track, if there was a crash it would take 20 mins of safety car at least to clear the track and how would you do qualifying?
At some points on the track the car nearly goes airborne. In real life it would not be worth taking that chance, because even mild disturbances on the undercarriage like that would cause the car to lose a vast amount of down force and potentially send it straight into a wall, or a spectacular flip.
I've watched this and the lap with the SF70H as well - you are simply amazing! You know the track extremely well. How much have you trained before you could remember all the bends and nuances (bumps, etc.)? And how much did you drive these F1 cars before managing this kind of perfection in handling and shifting? (by the way, I only now learned that the 2017 Ferrari has eight gears; that's crazy!)
I started simracing with Sports Car GT wich had a modded Nordschleife in the early 2000s. I learned the track as as a child very quickly. Now I have much more trouble to learn new tracks, even if they are much shorter.
I can't tell how much I trained, but I can tell you that RSR Livetiming recorded 1817 km in the F2004 on the Nordschleife.
Btw. I drove even faster. I think this is a lap I will never beat. Maybe someone else...

Çok iyi kontrol etmiş kesinlikle. Fakat slalom virajların çok olduğu bu pistte tekerlerin ısınması muazzam olmalı. Bok atmak gibi olmasın ama bu ısınmada, bu hızda, böyle bir traction, bu kadar kusursuz oversteer kontrol asistsiz olmaz gibime geliyor. Gene de gördüğüm en iyi turlardan.

The traction controll helps a lot, but I use a setting, that doesn't interfere too much.

I used this setup but I cannot get the car over 313. Im new to assetto corsa so could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
I was wondering too. Somewhere he stated to set it to 10°C for best engine performance but maybe the car has some KERS or DRS? Altho its 2004 so im not sure.

Could be, although Assetto Corsa is the best racing simulation on the market right now and very close to reality ... the two biggest advantages you gain via a simulation are 1. no fear (if you crash you don't die) and 2. no g-forces, vibrations or other distractions (unless you also simulate all that), you can focus just on the track. And last but not least: You can drive any car on any track you want, which will lead to some pretty crazy results. I wonder what time the modded Koenigsegg One:1 could achieve on Monza, considering the fact that there are a few longer straights and the F2004 is about 100 km/h slower in terms of top speed ... could that car beat the F1, or will the handling and the slower acceleration bottleneck it too much?
@@Katziezi A ton of BS. First try driving Nordschleife in real life and you'll understand how ridiculous your post is. The track is bumpy as hell all over the place. In AC it's smooth like silk. Laser scans my ass. IRL you drive Mercedes E class that is as comfortable as it gets 80km/h through Carousel and you shiver like you have 40C fever. Here he drives F1 car 150km/h through it. At 150km/h through Carousel IRL the wheels from that F1 car would literally fall off, not to mention that on exist the car would take off and fly to the trees.
Assetto Corsa and realism, give me a break. Game mechanics is 50% worse than in iRacing and iRacing is 50% worse than in LSF that is like 20 years old. And on top of that downforce of F1 cars in AC is just a joke. The models are as if a typical teenage racer designed it. NFS level of realism. It's a disgrace calling it a sim for F1 cars, it's arcade.
I gave it all I had in a 2018 spec F1 car and still 3 seconds off of this laptime. I can't even imagine starting the process of trying the F2004 here 😂

Hi. I am an Nürburgring fan and have drove it IRL with bikes many times. Now me and my sons run it with PS4+raceseat+Logitech stuff. I see that you get top speeds around 350km/h, we are struggling to get above 315km/h. I would be super happy if you would like to share some setups? Maybe in a read form so we can program it in to our PS4.
In another post he statet low aero, low ambient temperature (around 10°C and adjusted gear ratios which is probably a good idea for that track..)

The 2004 Cars were Monsters.
1. They had lots of downforce.
2. Much lower weight. 605 kg vs 728 kg (incl. driver)
3. Enginepower of the V10 was over 900 hp, all the time.
The 2017 power unit has also over 900 hp in total, but there are regulations how much electric energy is alowed to use per lap. On a long track, like Nordschleife this is maybe the biggest disadvantage because you drive most of the time with about 800 or less hp.

Btw. I was in Spa last year and watched qualifying at Pouhon corner. Seeing and Lewis Hamilton at 290 km/h and hearing only a very short lift looked so insanely fast.
This was my 1st time to visit F1. That was mind-bending. These drivers must have balls of steel. ;-)

CALL MAJOR BS Ive been trying to follow your tactics of having low aero and good gearing and low track temp and have sticky tires on my set up.
I call major BS on this lap no way you have the grip to make some of these turn with out lifting off throttle and keeping speed with a low aero set up.
getting to 347KPH 215MPH is crazy fast for this car you have to reduce the drag soo much that the car sucks in corners.

It's a minute faster. AC downforce model for F1 cars is a joke and lack of realism in track surface is just ridiculous. None of these sim racing kids actually ever drove a real life car in Nordschleife. It's probably the most unrealistic track in terms of surface in a whole game. Laser scans my ass.
