Mr. Gondola I tripped over this way back in the 70s when I was still in Jr. High! Wow brilliant work. I as a young teen was grappling with who was who in the In jazz world I was lucky to be in with a bunch of old school boppers but I stumbled across this. And realized how heavy and Zen jazz could really be. Thanks.
no. I just can't believe it. this is (imho) some of the greatest jazz piano tunes/solos I've ever came across. this rendering is brilliant and revealing. thanks a lot! keep up with your magnificent work. greetings from argentina!
Here's my transcription of this very beautiful masterpiece by Keith Jarrett. Today's sheet music trivia (first to answer correctly gets PDF): what would I call the chord (in isolation) in measure 172?
Seeing as you asked for it in isolation, an "A13", probably adding in "sus" too because it doesn't reveal major or minor. Happy to be wrong and learn a small extra thing.
That chord is Gsus2 inverted (ADG) or Dsus4 (same thing) but if the bass is playing an E then it's Gsus2/E. I guess you could also call it A7sus4 if you were removing the 5th
😃 😀Hi! If you like musical arrangements, I think you could even appreciate some piano adaptations, executed by me, of some pieces, you can find them going into this channel, with which I’m just writing this comment. :)If you decide to click on it, I hope you will like the sound and the visual aesthetic!💚💗💖Love
hey there ! Do you know where I can find a transcription of sand part 3 by any chance ? I've been looking around all the internet and i can't find one :/ i'd be very happy if you made one by the way !!! cheers
Hi Tim, I just found your channel and I'm really enjoying your videos. Please excuse my noob question, but how do I use these transcriptions/10 bebop lick etudes etc to develop jazz improvisation? I mean I can sight read slowly and play these transcriptions/etudes like classical pieces, but that isn't improvising is it? Thanks! Keep up the great work!
Like early language, learning to improvise is constructing sentences with words you’re familiar with. In this case, licks provide great vocabulary to add in between your own improv, or else you can also modify them too!

I’d call it a Dsus4 voicing, although one could also call it an A7sus4
In isolation? I never think of chords that way, but either A7sus or Em11 would be how I might hear it on its own.
An A quartal triad voicing?

His runs towards the end were somehow….. extremely satisfying to listen to!
Thanks for another amazing transcription:D
I thought so myself too! Just took it to a whole other level.
