With the Xbox 360 store and Xbox 360 Marketplace shutting down we will be saying goodbye to hundreds of games, themes, gamer pictures, avatars and so much more. The end of an era is approaching... what do y'all think about the Xbox 360 Marketplace shutdown?
I hate that the store is closing soon. We're about like 4 weeks from now before the shutdown, if I'm correct. We've had some old games being shutdown like GTA 5 Online for last gen, Halo on last gen, even I've heard Battlefield Bad Company 2 has shutdown. I hate that newer things take over old things, but it's just part of life, so we can't have something forever.
I think it's time I RGH my console 😅
@@imkayjaylea it's worth it. RGH will let you get anything, including pre release builds of games and unreleased games. Game preservation is the future.

Well at least there not shutting the console down as theres still a lot of 360 games i play on my 360 from time to time as even though there are some games you can play on the series x most of them you can't and its for this reason you still need the 360 to preserve this part of gaming history but alas come the 29th of july a part of history will be lost forever & moveing forward this is the prob with digital games without physical games history in gaming is lost and there is nothing we can do about even though its us the gamer that give these companies there bread & butter. End of the day i think moveing forward we should be giving a choice if we wanna pay a little extra for a physical so be it we should be given that choice just as if we would prefer going all digital with the money off offers down the road though game pass we should then be giving that choice don't you all agree ❓🎮🕹🏆

Me too, I always find myself coming back to it after a while of not hopping on. It's so nice to come back and check out every now and then and it sucks I won't be able to do that anymore :/ Definitely the end of an era
what was the idea of the store closing down, is it like a crafty way of saying get the newer consoles and games lol it does feel like an attack in a way. i bet ps3 will start doing this soon.

fun fact about XBLA demos, it's actually the full game, and using an RGH'd console you can unlock it to play said game's full version. i downloaded tons of game demos that were delisted about a year ago, and i'm happy i did. also bought a few games cause of the sale, but mostly saved my money since the VAST majority of games on sale are on steam at a similar price, and the money you'd save buying the game would be nil anyway, if you're trying to buy DLC and get the "complete" game.

I was a lad that did not experience the 360 in it prime but in these days the 360 is still active and fun mw2 bo2 gears 3 halo 3 and reach and 4 are so fun I’m trying to buy as much as I can on the marketplace before shut down
I experienced the later half of the 360's life so I wasn't able to be there for the launch. But man my time spent in like 2009 to 2014 on the 360 was awesome. I'm so happy people are still around playing it!

No doubt the 360 days of gaming was the better & the best days of gaming but a lot has changed since then like game graphics but i do really miss 360 arcade though with gaming licences it's hard to keep esp when the 360 was coming to the end of its life

Awesome video man! There's a series of gamer pictures I recommend and these are old school by the way, they're called the Hook-Ups Series. You'd probably have to search on the computer and buy them from there since searching for it on the 360 is next to impossible. FYI each picture pack is $1.00 a piece but so worth it.

my 360 wasn’t connecting the other day either but after removing my account and unsubscribing from game pass and redoing it all I was able to connect lmao
Try reinstalling the firmware update. That fixed it for me

You're Router might be 5gz but 360 can only connect with 2.5gz. Try checking and getting a cheap 2.5 compatible wifi extender.

It depends on what people have done so far, I personally haven't but there's probably a bunch out there. I bet people who can mod consoles can do that too but thats beyond my capability lol

I’m pretty sure you don’t even have to fully download anything in order to still have access to it after the shutdown. As long as you initiated the download, it’ll be in your download history allowing you to then redownload it in the future
any idea why my 360 got so slow? I have an above average wireless connection at home so i don't know why, my only thought is that the hardware is probably dying :( I want to download stuff but can't, download time is ridiculously slow
Honestly I'm not completely sure but I have noticed that too, loading a game on the marketplace takes like 10-15 seconds for me. It could've always been like that and I just haven't noticed till after looking back all these years later, Idk but I have noticed it is a bit slow at times
Awesome video! Got me in my nostalgic feels with the demos 😢... The left4dead one especially. So many hours logged into that until I owned the actual game. Thanks for heads up on free games and insanely cheap digital games on sale for 2 to 3$! Long live Xbox 360 thru backwards compatibility and never forget those that are not.

Sure, you can save more money from the sales for the digital version, but I much prefer to get the physical (IF AVAILABLE). One reason being to build up your collection. Second, you don't have to worry when it's gone from the marketplace, as you can get it later on, years even. HOWEVER, I highly do recommend buy curtain games that's exclusive to buy only from the 360 marketplace, if it doesn't have a physical copy or it's backward compatible. Also, Games that have physical copies, would possibly have collector's edition that includes any and/or all DLCs. Overall, please do research and be smart when buying the games

As long as you’ve downloaded the game once in the past before, you can delete it and always access it through your recently downloaded in your profile on the 360

Wondering why people talk about cheap games on xbox360 now it's shutting down even free games, but then to get all content before servers cut out new downloads means you have to buy the DLC too which is $$$$ total ranked up even for free games and 2-5 dollar games, the total spending is actually 2k dollars to get 1 3rd of the good games.
And then you unplug your xbox and never touch or think about it again
Why bother, just get even download on Xenia emulator for pc, and xbox360 Roms. then you can preserve all the games for free, I think Microsoft owe us that, they can't complain now that they shutting down the dlc and game store, this is fair game now Am I right guys?
As an xbox360 user and one who spent more than £2900 on Xbox stuff since the 360 I think i can safely say Microsoft owe me, especially now they cut us all out of the shop on 29th July. Microsoft are only instigating more piracy, call me Jack the fucking Sparrow then. They didn't even put all the 360 games on 2 dollar offer shame on them, also all DLC should be free to download after buying the game after this shutdown, that's the least Microsoft can do for us, otherwise pirate time.
What I am sad to see is the end of the XBOX360. That console apart from it's rocky launch with the RROD issues had grown into a stellar machine that was still being pushed on a technical level around the time the XBOX ONE was in it's conception stage and Halo 4 being one of the last games for the system Halo 4 was a technical achievement in itself but not everyone could appreciate the efforts 343 Industries went through knowing their first game was being developed on a 7 year old console at that point in time knowing the XBOX ONE was just right around the corner and what we got was a decent game but nothing could even come close to the legacy Bungie left behind. All of the memories we have made with the console in playing with friends,sending messages and trash talking was the highlights of so many OG people and you can all feel proud to say you survived a Call of Duty Lobby. Like what I am going to miss the most is the experiences of staying up all night going though so many XBOX360 games and loving every minute of it I will forever miss the feeling of going to midnight launches for a brand new game and meeting new people who are fans of the games you love. The XBOX360 as a console united everyone and it is that shared passion that is lacking in the XBOX Series X/S today. Going in on Digital has stripped XBOX of it's own identity with GamePass and it's core audience has either moved on in life or they have gone back to playing on older hardware and because of this,this is why XBOX is shutting down the XBOX360 store. To kill it off once and for good. To stop other people going back to checking out their legacy titles. Like we will gladly give them money but they don't respect their own core audience who has been with them on Day 1. It's decisions like this why people are not buying XBOX consoles and instead are buying games on Steam.
I think halo 4 could have benefitted from launching on the xbox one, maybe being a launch title? Idk. But I agree, I 100% wish microsoft kept prioritizing physical games because I looooove owning my games and holding them. I just hope they don't go all digital that would actually suck

You can literally go to one of those used gaming stores, and they sell for $.99-$10! They sell PS1, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, and even sell game boy color/advance cartridges!!

I wish my 360 would let me sign in. It would keep giving me an error for some reason. I don’t have Xbox live so maybe that’s why? But I have no clue since the account I’m trying to use works just fine on everything new
I got that problem too! Try researching the error code it gives you, I was able to find a whole list of error codes and their meanings and I was able to fix the issue and log in!

You don't need to download them. You will find them on your Download List and download them from there. It is the same thing as with PS Vita.

that’s my mindset too lmao. anything over like 20 bucks for a physical copy depending on the game is where I usually draw the line because the prices are just inflated at that point
So the version of need for speed most wanted that you can still buy on the store is the new version not the mid 2000's version. I bought the one for two bucks but the original one I sadly had to pay 60 bucks for on eBay because you can't download it on the store anymore....

New Xbox user here. I have an Xbox series S and I wonder, are these discounted games playable in that console if bought from a 360? There are a couple old games id like to buy but they're too expensive, literally I could buy a cheap 360 and use that content in the newer console?

Some of them you can play if they are backwards compatible, depending on the game if you buy it on the 360 you’ll be able to play them on the Series consoles

You can still download them after the store closes, you just won't be able to buy them. Unfortunately for me, Tornado Outbreak is not on the UK store. But Legend of Spyro and Dark have been added to my considerable collection. So no ridiculous ebay prices for me. (Honestly thought I had Dark on disc, so i looked through my 300 plus xbox 360 disc collection and found I didn't.
Also the backwards compatible games are not gonna disappear.
PS: I love Asura's Wrath, it's backwards compatible, it shouldn't be one of the games that disappear.
XM360 on a rgh can unlock any dlc including marketplace games, but that doesnt really matter since on a RGH you can download and play any game anyway

You should make a video where you learn about supply and demand. Just to help you out a little bit, the supply of physical 360 games is much lower than the demand currently. When this happens prices go up. If there were copies of NFSMW laying around in the woods and on every street corner it'd be practically free.
There is no way MS won't back up every game on a server somewhere, that way they can overcharge us all for an ultimate all in one legacy 80 DVD master collection costing $999.99 in a couple of years.
to fix this they should just transfer all of the xbox 360 games to the newer xbox marketplace and if you own them then just let it add them to your new library

A lot of the games that you stated were free ARE episodic games were the first episode is free and then you have to pay an outrageous price. Usually $15 an episode to get the rest of it...
Sometimes the episodes will be on sale for as low as five bucks apiece ..

Talking about free games not really if there is a game that has a season pass it will cost you to buy the season pass to unlock all chapters like life is strange how are you going to unlock all 1000 gamer score without the season pass and why isn’t Microsoft putting the season pass on sale or dlc like Steam does you go to street fighter x tekken it’s $1.99 great price but unlocking all characters is going to cost you $19.99 so paying $19.99 plus $1.99 will cost you over $20 to buy that game watch dogs within costing $$3.99 but the season pass is also $19.99 can’t unlock all achievements without buying the season pass again tricky price the DLC for the evil within is $19.99 instead of $1.99 it’s still like paying full price the difference from digital Vs physical is you get the DLC physical comes with no DLC I get it people think their getting things free but watch out if there is a season pass that’s where you find out you didn’t unlock the entire game resident evil revelations 2 season pass still full price but season 1 is free not great deal

Games like Too Human, Crackdown 1 and 2 don't have any hidden dlc's to negate it's free status. They were full priced triple A games on release.
Shoutout to all the people who experience this in its grand prime. Many of are childhoods. Really the only time I’d grind 6am-6am next day lol 😆 as a kid with friends. Now it’s maybe couple hours and nobody used to play with. With current gen Xbox haven’t played or touched it switched over to PlayStation for awhile now.

Definitely too soon. Over a decade ago I nabbed The Simpson’s Arcade, X-Men Arcade and Daytona USA. Those might not be available anymore due to licensing.
I got almost every released game for 360 on disc, and this is why. When the store shuts down, which in time it will 100% lose support then what happens to purchased games that arent backwards compatible? If you buy a disc you own the game. No server shut down or bans can stop you from owning the game.

People have been foolish over the years spending their money on marketplace when everything is free not just games. Eh I don't think so. The 360 is a gaming console, the one way to buy games for the console is being taken down. Over 1500 games are going to be gone along with avatar creation stuff, gamer pics, themes, add ons for games. A big chunk of what makes the 360 what it is will be gone forever

You are correct the 360 servers will not be taken down. You will be still be able to buy the 360 backwards compatible games on Xbox one. But, you will NOT be able to buy non backwards 360 games on the Xbox one.

With modded Xbox you can get every single game for free via PC as long as you have memory you can turn a 360 into legit way to store every older game for 360 an emulators for older consoles
