Arnold, thanks for this -- honored man. My only regret is not getting it to you sooner. To those watching, I say one thing: demo it in your room and setup, load it up sitting between your studio monitors & let it rip. It will hit you like nothing else. 😎
I ditched the Granophyre plugin for this bad boy, blows it outta the water for brutal heavy death metal. Very fun to write and record with, won't be leaving my DAW anytime soon that's for sure
I still like both those plugins.. for some reason I tend to dig the "KT tube" setting on both of them the most. Even though power tubes shouldn't have THAT much tone shaping going on vs the preamp/circuit itself and IRs. I always find it weird in plugins how switching the power tubes has this outsized affect on the tone.. unless it;'s meant to simulate pushing them hard no matter where master is...
Haha I am making comments as I am watching it, I did not actually name Supercollider after the Megadeth album, just a cool name I've loved for a long time, probably in my head from both Kurt Ballou of Converge's side project, as well as the album by Cavity of the same name. No particular reference, it is very mid heavy and more akin to marshall-esque tone.
-for the power tubes, to get more character / difference, you will need to cold or hot bias them. 12 o clock they are very similar.
-Snarl is really huge for getting massive scooped and punishing lows and highs, like you and I both love. Really shapes the power amp in a big way. Can get wild, but I wanted to give the control that I want, because I made this for myself in truth.
I bought this killer plugin a while ago. BEST plugin 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Down.
This thing always sounds incredible
Any 7+ string guitar should come with a free copy of II II II II. I wasted 2 years to get any good sound before otto..
Awesome review!!! Thanks Arnold!!!
Goddamn, I gotta get this plugin....
This is one of those sims that you can just tweak forever, always finding new ways to get crushing tones. I recommend using the 1111 with external boosts before the sim; Mercuriall Greed Smasher is fantastic. Or go crazy and peg the power section, adjusting the digital output so you don't blow the house down so to speak. Then grab one of the chainsaw tones, and enjoy disgusting tube warmth and grindy fuzzzy goodness.
Awesome walkthrough man.
Damn dude, this sounds really good. I'm impressed. I'm currently using the STL Tonality Josh Middleton plugin with some Bogren Digital IR'S and I'm loving it, but now I feel like I need to at least try this out! 2nd thought I think it might be sounding that good because you're using it with mono/stereo to get that double tracking vibe. Either way I'm sure it's pretty good in mono as well which is what you would want to record with.
This is actually without mono/stereo. Just wait until you try that...
Great opening!
Been waiting on this video for awhile. The amp sim is absolutely killer
Demo song hits harder than dad
I bought this pluygin a while back. I've noticed that it seems like the BIAS/SAG/FEEDBK/SNARL controls seem to have a synergy with the Amplitude control on the "rear" of the amp.. seems they tend to work together to shape tone, feel and level.. Underrated plugin to be sure.
Underrated? 😂
Hey Arnold you can also change the impedence curve as well on the broken circle looking thing on the front of the amp I have this plugin it’s my main one I use every day I dig the song you made with it I like seeing what other metle musicians are writeing with it
Ironbird looking axe is so brutal
so ................ If I use Tascam to record my drum track ........ would UI use the otto to record guitar? Im assuming theres a way to line in my drum signal & this ottoaudio will play the drum track so I can play guitar to it?
How will this help me if Im use to using Just the tascam for the whole song??
Heeeeeloooooo🎉
What guitar are u playing? The 7 string couldn't really catch the brand or model... Great video bro🤟🎸
That is my Kompakt by AC Guitars out of Scotland. Such an incredible instrument! Built for a jazz fusion, but totally kills on extreme metal!
Thx brother 🤘 Ur videos are Rad
Morrisound sound 😮 I love it!
I understand its Brutal as HELL itself , but...can it ALSO do vintage classic rock plexi kinda not so much gain type stuff??
Sort of, but it's not meant for that. Lower preamp gain, increase poweramp gain, tweak EQ and IR. I imagine with the right settings and playing you can get a somewhat nice Plexi driven sound
@@cmd_f5 ok thanx. Yeh sometimes I like to bring it down a bit & do old Styx, Van Halen, Zeppelin kiss, Scorpions etc.
l dig your channel - but please - for the Love of God - don't play Enter Sandman! You're much better than that
Agree. Skip that Black album sellout shit.
wow so much snobbery.... Black album has some great tunes. The production is truly massive..
Don't worry I was a fan before the black album.. AJFA is my most often picked favorite and I'd definitely rank the Black album below the 4 spot on my personal favorite album list (it's an ever shifting list based on how I'm feeling at the time..).. but it's nowhere near "sellout garbage". Not going to pretend I've agreed with everything they've done over their career but I truly don't get the gatekeepy closed off attitudes sometimes. They are just humans..
@@odie5268 the album is fine, but Enter Sandman is way overplayed. Never liked it since I first heard it.
