@@christopherayettey4390 The question wasn't who was more respected. People from Harlem still respect Mase, but yeah I'm sure they respect Big L more because Big L is considered to have been more "real".
@@tonyjohnson5047 I think that's a reflection of the impact/influence each of these artists/groups have had. While it's true that Mase is kind of the father of Harlem rap/Hip Hop on a mainstream level (I know on the street level a lot of people might give that to Big L), but since he wasn't as consistent as Cam'ron and Dipset, it's a lot easier to forget about him when talking about Harlem rap/Hip Hop and it takes him popping up every now and then to remind people of the history.
I think that's a line up when they talk about how young people ain't feeling brothers from the 90s so they aren't relevant and have no worth. This is my opinion you feel me but everyone in their mid 30s to all the way up to 50s still purchase music either by streaming or other music platforms. We don't relate to the young bulls like that but why we only hear this in hiphop? You would never hear that about frank Sinatra or Bruce Springsteen or Jon bon Jovi, why? My opinion is because in hiphop labels, when a artist gets to their 30s and 40s they get more serious on the business side so the labels can't fool them with jewelry and expensive cars and they want their residuals and everything they're entitled to. As opposed to the youngins that just want to be lit and they can be hypnotized by the shinny trinkets and foreign cars that depreciate as soon as you spin them wheels.

12:05 nah Math, I get what you are saying but at the same time Mase has maintained he wasn't even going to do more than one album. He said he was telling people this in the beginning. So IDK how he is ever able to stand on that statement and the agreement was for him to do 5 albums but he out here stating he is only doing 1 and a possible. Also, MASE said whatever the agreement was, it never came to pass because "niggas kept lying" referring to Puff so he deaded the situation after the 2nd album. Since Puff didn't stick to the agreement, there was no agreement so MASE was out! Even when he came back on some "welcome back" he said the same thing happened so he was out yet again! IDK how many times he was supposed to trust in Puff to get it right. Puff can be in his feelings all he want, but if he actually did not adhere to what was agreed upon, his feelings don't matter. Thats a business move on Mase behalf as well. I also don't see how he was able to just leave and not owe Bad Boy anything if he completely was on paper as not fufiling his contract. Ask for what you want and be okay with it, if you are getting what you asked for dont worry about what anyone else is getting. There is always time to come back to the table once the terms of the initial contract are met
Love the convos, I watch math show more than I watch cable.
I question anybody who defend Diddy in any situation.
Math n the crew got the best breakdowns of rappers n hiphop after Joe, but math u there brother with the guys
We need mase on the show NOW YOU GUYS HAVE THE QUESTIONS 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥
That's how stack Bundles was, he was in the streets for real. Everytime I went to Rockaway I saw him and he was chilling on the block, I saw him 4 times in a month, cool ass nigga!
Skane took stack to def jam and jay turned him down
@@raviolihands5347 wow!! That's insane! Do you know how hot stack would have been? Sometimes dudes turn certain dudes down because they know what the artist is going to have to do in order to get big, and they probably don't want no smoke from the artist because of wild his crew is, or probably looking out. Jay told the Butcher to not do that Fresman album cover shoot for the vibe magazine or whatever magazine because he knew where they wanted to go with Benny; what direction rather, and Jay was looking out and probably told them to keep doing it the way yall doing it because once you get to certain level, you gonna have to commit to the "horned one" and being from NY he was looking out for him.
@@astralmindny9055 i think it was cuz stack was running wit jim and at that time jigga and capo was beefing heavy so stack might been collateral damage. But still no excuse jim had stacks and max b and he starved them niggas and didnt put them out or promote them
Yo, real talk, Harlem needs to give Mase a star on the street somewhere! Nobody cared about Harlem on a grand scale like that until Mase shouted it in his music! Mase put Harlem on. Mase made Harlem a household name! Not to mention, this man was Bad Boy Entertainment after Big died! Hit after hit after hit--both recorded and written. He has earned his respect from Harlem and from the music industry. Mase has delivered consistently!! Stop me when I'm lying. Hate him or love him, Mase will always be a staple in the fabric of Harlem's history and he deserves that.
You on a roll math 🔥

Respect and Salute pod cast! Peace!! 🙏🏽✊🏿🔥
Excellent show!!!
What math said in the beginning about what happens if you sign your contract and get your money and then you flop, you don’t give the money back, that’s a boss mentality!👍🏾
Mase was supposed to be top 10 if he never retired. He was a 90's version of LL Cool J but with that Harlem swag and melody
90s LL isn't as cool as you remembered, go back and rewatch with new eyes😬
@@youknowwhoyouare2269 what? LL drop classic album in the 90s. How old are you talking like this b

The smack rapper that smack rappers
Man mad knowledge in this session ... #hoffagang
I think the difference is the expectation when you get befriended so you let a person into your private world and you get invested into them they know deeper secrets and you may help them out of loyalty to get betrayed or lied to then it gets personal. Also you may have turned down other opportunities to ride with a Puff.
Great conversation
Topics like these I love when Esso takes over the convo. Math you got a point, puffy will never forgive mase for leaving!
When You Know Someone Is Living High On Your Life, And Labor.
And You Can Clearly See The Dammage That They Have Done. To Get To There Level Of Success.
They Are Sitting Happy. Forgetting All The Lives That They Have Stepped On To Get There.
Take it to court and go through litigations….. what song is that?
Looking forward to hearing how the pod feels about Mase now that he cleared the air about Fivio
Low key great episode.
Mase held Harlem down for a long long time. He made dudes from Harlem really represent Harlem World tattoo's, the flash I remember C.O.C Cam represented Harlem too. Those 2 been holding Harlem down like the globetrotters.
What was the name of the podcast smoke mentioned
Red Cafe fasho got the run around. It made no sense how he dropped 🔥 like 'Hottest in the Hood', 'Fly Together', 'Let It Go', and not one album dropped eversince he been on Bad Boy.
Can we get the mic muted when drinkin' the yak?
Yooooo ES$O Just Dropped Mad JEWELS! DAM LOVING THESE TYPE OF CONVO'S!
