Lakeland
March 8th, 1980

lyrics:
You can live your own life and I'll live mine
I will never try to keep you down
And even if I only see you some of the time
I'm just happy when you come around
And even if the sun don't shine
I'm warm enough when you're in these arms of mine
Just as long as we're together
Everything's alright (everything's alright)
Everything's alright (everything's alright)
There is nothing that will overcome the love we share,
Nothing that will break us apart
Girl I gotta always have you in my ear,
Gotta always have you in my heart
Oh baby, your place or mine?
I'll get the music, baby, you bring the wine
Just as long as we're together (just as long as we're together)
Oh girl, there's nothin' better (just as long as we're together)
Just as long as we're together
Everything's alright (everything's alright)
Everything's alright (everything's alright)
Just as long as there is you
I'll be around doin' what you what me to
Just as long as there is me
I'll be around to sing that melody, sugar
Just as long as we're together (everything's alright)
Oh baby, everything's alright
Just as long as we're together (everything's alright)
Oh girl, everything's alright
Just as long as we're together (everything's alright)
Oh girl, everything's alright!
Don't you know there ain't better (everything's alright)
Oh hunt you baby, in the night
PJ
André Cymone is a hell of a bass player!
I agree
The "For You" album- phenomenal.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My favorite P album
An underrated Masterpiece
From what I consider his best album...the 1st and, DAYYYYUMMM, this is amazing!!!!!!!
This is a lot of energy going into JUST this song. And it's JUST this song so far of this show.
A stardom of Energy a human alone cant bring It thats the via lattea .
Love we share nothing that Will break US apart
this sounds better than the album version....WOW! My first time hearing this live after all of this time!! What an amazing talent! I am even more perplexed as the first time I ever heard him in 1976!
Just fucking WOW on that bassplaying.. André ❤️🙏
This live version of this song is so touching and even more funky 😊💕
Great song Prince that's so romantic 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💋💋💋💋💋💋💋🌹🌹🌹💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
this version is on fire brooooo
Masterpiece!!
PRINCE ....by the way............PLAYED EVERY SINGLE INSTRUMENT AND VOICE ON THAT FIRST ALBUM WOWW!
On every album up to purple rain . When he did let someone play ok his album it was literally one note . It's all he'd allow
I am pretty sure Andre Cymone sings the second verse of this song on the Album and here in this live version as well. Of course, Prince was uber-talented even in the beginning. But after listening to several interviews, there may have been more collaboration than we were led to believe.
@@dljohn9515 Prince seemed to like or love to keep us all guessing! Like party up....morris day says he wrote that and sold it to prince. seems like a really weird move by prince.
still here 9/2020....since the beginning, this isa treat & FUNNN to hear...who tha HELL thumbs down? (ohh, someone that doesnt know about FOR YOU) got it!

Rick James didnt know what hit him....
YES HE DID...That is why he later jacked Princes equipment and used it on the entire street songs album!
He got served in this concert
Why did he stop singing like this it sounds amazing Jesus, he could still sing like this but I think he wanted a more rock voice
I wish people didn’t sleep on his first album so much. It’s SO amazing. Like yeah they heard Soft and Wet but there’s so many other good songs on there ugh.
Yes he never stopped singing like this I hear it in all his music
🔥♾🔥
Sounds so close like the album version ...andre cymone on bass
There's abreak in the Atlanta version.
Was he the opening act for Rick James during this time
YES!
Was there!
Yes he was
What kind of guitar is that in the photo? I thought he used the Hohner during this period?
I believe it’s a 1976 Gibson L6s deluxe
@@trippy_nation5300 thanks!
He started using the Hohner after gear of this era was stolen.
@@DaLawn did Rick James steal them? I know he stole some of his synths.
@@andrewschmal6004 LOL, it wasn't from that. It happened at his rehearsal place. Someone said "Prince I thought U were on tour, all your gear is gone". Prince was known for not keeping doors locked. Rick stole some synths when they toured together but returned them after making an album with them. Rick sent the gear back with a copy of the album and a thank U note. Prince re-recorded the album and sent it back with a note that read "you're welcome".
YOU'VE KNOWN $$
In these legs of mine ? I love his music but can't say that isn't sus.
The Atlanta 80 version is better
