It is wild to think that it’s almost been 10 years since iwatas passing
This song made me want to call my parents and see how they are doing... and I did... They are fine. :)
Cool!
Epic
That's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen on youtube. :)
I'm glad you were able to have that moment.
wholesome: 100
Das good to know, also... You cured your home sickness!
This song really gets to me. It makes me feel something I havent felt in a long time: childhood innocence. It reminds me of coming home from a long summer day, my mom is waiting for me at the table with dinner, and waiting to clean off the dirt on my face from playing outside, and a smile on her face. It was those moments where nothing could ever go wrong in such a corrupt world, and that's what Earthbound shows amazingly.
Wow! Fighting an evil alien is something that never could go wrong!
I think that's what makes Mother 3 so jarring. All that innocence is stripped away, like the world just lost its foothold in reason and goodness.
God, I miss the feeling of playing this game for the first time.
That shit was ripped from me
The first time I read this comment 7 years ago I said "this sounds about as fictional as Earthbound." Then I read a memoir by a woman who went thru the same thing I went thru as a child, except the person who hurt her was a stranger instead of family. When she told her mother what happened, her mother had to hold her up since she could no longer stand. Her mother caressed her hair saying "Mommy's not mad, Mommy's just scared." When I hear this song, I now think of this woman and her family.
your mom seriously would clean the dirt off your face?
"You like to work hard just like your mother. But, I don't think it's good to work too hard."
"Never forget where you came from, when you get where you're going."
It feels like: "Hey, even though your familly can be a pain in the ass, you still have somewhere to stay and to be loved. So remember that when you feel down."
Deep
Fantastic.
Welp not with my family to be honest.
This place i found with my fiance and mother in law.
@@Acacius1992 I think that's really nice ! You can have a good place to return to with people that are not related by blood to you. A place that makes you feel like home.
... What is that like?
I'm asking, because I had to get a protection order against our biological progenitors (they don't deserve to be called "parents"), after they continued to try to harm us even after leaving us for dead. Our husband died recently, and the only people I can even somewhat relate to - let alone call a "found family" - are my DID system, and members of another DID system I know solely online, who live on another continent.
Earthbound songs have such good bass.
+JoroJojoro yeah its great on surround sound with really good speakers. you can really feel that bass bumping.
i agree
I believe in skies forever blue
why shouldn't I believe the same in you?
my favorite song from Mother c:
just visited my parents a month after moving out, this was in my head the whole time... I almost teared up once I left and listened to this
I don't know why.. but this song makes me think about life. About all the happy and sad moments.. and whatever you do, life goes on and you will never be able to turn back time. This song gives me so many mixed feelings, and how I wish I was able to go back in time.
This, I love this comment.
I love this song.
I come here during the hard and not so hard times. It reminds me of childhood, not a care in the world. Going to sleep excited for the next day. Finding out about all the wonders of the world. Playing video games and playing the absolute joy that is Earthbound. Believing. Believing in Santa, in people, believing in fairy tales and lucky charms and... believing in the world. Times like these seem far-gone now, but atleast we have the memories of these things. Hell, I even liked every single comment in hopes they'd get a notification and come back to this song. I may not really know all too much about the world yet, but who really does? Times constantly changing, new things being invented. Atleast we still have the past to hold onto, the simpler times, and we have the future to look forward to aswell, whether near or far. I hope I can accomplish my dreams of being an indie developer one day, who knows how long it'll take before I'll make it, maybe I'll never make it, and that's okay. Atleast I got to do something I love, programming. Atleast I got to play Earthbound, and own all these Nintendo games and consoles. Atleast I got to meet people, although not life-long friends. Even with all my problems, I had the privledge to experience all these things.
I believe in skies, for-ev-er blue,
Why shouldn't I believe the same in you?

Nice seeing the Pollyanna references
The references to the Pollyanna/I Believe In You song sung by Catherine Warwick in this comment is beautiful. Chefs kiss. 👌🏾
Also, really beautiful and deep comment. ❤
This brings tears to my eyes. It reminds me of when I was still a young man, and when I had to leave home to pursue my destiny in the real world. My mother gave me my dad's number and I decided to call him. He spoke words of wisdom: "I don't think it's good to work too hard."
I finished my call with him and gave my Mother and Sister another sad goodbye, and I was off.
lol
Same thing happened to me, and when I walked outside my house and wiped the tears form my eyes I beat the hell out of a dog with a baseball bat

When you get nostalgia from a game you haven't played yet
Did you?
@@multipass5207 didn't have time to do that somehow 😔
Honestly, EarthBound truly sells the feel of its setting. Mother 3 does for its many settings, but I prefer EarthBound’s because, even if I’m not old enough to have experienced the 90s, it feels a lot more nostalgic and relatable.
I did play it.
Its THE best single-player game i have ever played.
@@aliguemmi2459 Play it. We always say we'll do things and just set it aside. Life can move fast, make the time for things.
This is what I call "Childhood euphoria." It's the feeling you get when nothing in the world seems like it could go wrong and you have your innocence.
2 days ago my older passed from alcohol poisoning and I've been listening to this on repeat.. I don't understand the world and hate everything but this music is truly beautiful.. earthbound... geezus
@Waylon Johnson thank you dude🤘
Hope you are doing better
That sucks bro hope your doing well now
Hope you're doing better, dude.

No more has a song produced a feeling of what it's supposed to than this one. This songs feels like home.
I... have never heard a song that made me cry so much, wow
I've lived in houses, barracks, dorms... but I've never known what a home feels like. This song and this game are the closest I'll probably ever get to feeling such things.
And that's good enough for me. No matter where I've been in my long life, this song makes me feel welcome.
aw man
I miss my childhood. 30 years is a long time.
This song is going to make me cry. WHY MUST THIS SERIES HAVE SO MANY FEELS??
+Sydney Warner that's what makes earthbound amazing
No crying until the end!
Driving to and back from the cemetery while listening to this....yeah I almost teared :.)
Woah a comment from 9 years ago. You should be all grown up by now, I hope life is going great for you! :D

If one had played Earthbound in their youth, it's a fair bet that just about the entire game is a whole big nostalgia trip for them.
I love this song. You know you feel real safe when you hear something like this as a home theme.
Rip Vappy. Dang, this song is even more emotional after seeing his comment.
@@LukeBeadles for real
Aww. I miss you, Vappy. :(
I remember when I was in college, this song would always play in my head when I missed my family. Something about it always sounded comforting which made the stressful times feel just a bit more manageable.
"Lvlgenesis thought about steak and started craving it"
This makes me appreciate all the good my parents did for us kids. If I ever have kids of my own, they will always have a bed waiting for them, food in the fridge, and a home to come back to.
I believe the morning sun
Always gonna rise again :')
I believe a pot of gold
meets at every rainbow's end, oh
I believe in roses kissed with dew
Why shouldn't believe the same in you?
Chills
Played this before my wedding two years ago, as everyone was being seated. It was in a Chicago mansion from the 1920's. I stared up at my wife-to-be as this song played; she beamed back. The most important game I'd ever played in my life, it always felt like home. Will never forget how we gazed at each other alongside this song. Hope everyone has a moment or two like that in their lives.
so relaxing... just want to lay down and relax
My son is about 11 weeks old now and this is unquestionably his favorite song, the one we most often play when he is fussy or crying. He heard it played in utero, among other songs (many of them VGA tunes) that I thought were wholesome and simple.
Earthbound is bound to have a special meaning for him someday when he plays it, even if he does not recognize it at the time.
For me it's echoes of a long lost best friend loaning it to me to play even after I had moved and no longer went to the same school and wasn't acting like myself anymore. The game means friendship and childhood fun to me.
Getting your boy to grow up to play good games!
Irony of the video game plot
@@mrcodcommando3939 what irony are you referring to?
Beautiful. This is such a moving piece of music, particularly when connected to the feeling of playing it back in the day as a kid. Glad other people feel such a deep connection to songs from EB, they feel like a part of my existence.
I've never played EarthBound but damn this song makes me feel unexplainable emotions. I feel like a child watching the stars from my window, like I'm about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime.
The best thing about Earthbound is that you hear all the hype, everyone saying that it’s one of the greatest games of all time, you get really excited to play it, and when you actually do, you realize that it’s even better than people say.
You should DEFINITELY play Earthbound it actually changed my life, for the better
Earthbound Is An Adventure Of A Lifetime & A Must Play For Everyone Into RPGs! 😂
There seems to be a common theme of feelings with this song...
What I would give to be back home around 1995 again.
What was it like
Listening to this while running on no sleep and closing your eyes makes for a really weird experience.
The brain tries to fill images in your head, but they make no sense.
It feels kinda like lucid dreaming I think
Woah
This song reminds me of my friend. I moved to a different state after highschool and I really didn't like it there, but after meeting her, it's like a new home to me
尚子が大好き〜♪
大工も大好き~
I didn't even realize till today that the song Pollyanna existed. I had played Mother 1 for the first time and the overworld theme was really good. Went to look for the ost and found the actual song. I then realized the lemotif from Pollyanna is in this song. It's so nostalgic.
If this doesn't make you feel anything then you're not human
This is the old game I have on my oldest console and I play it just to hear this
The dislikes are Porky and Giygas on different accounts lol
Goddammit.. why do I always end up here when I'm grieving 😭😭😭
Im moving home soon :( Only to a house up the road but i will miss THIS house greatly, it's where i grew up, where all my memories are...... :( I remember getting up, eating some chocolate cereal and then going straight in to play my SNES. I would play Super Metroid or Super Mario All-Stars with my sister and also played Zelda OOT, Mario 64 and Goldeneye on my N64. We don't have Earthbound here in Ireland so i never grew up with it but i can't hept but be reminded of my childhood with this song.
I wish Nintendo remaking this game. It's the best super nintendo game I ever played. I remember when i was 8, my parents gave me a super nintendo console including this game cartridge. The best birthday gift ever. And i wanna cry now :"
Yes, and it's very nostalgic.
AH stop
now i see another comment by him
this song makes me feel very bittersweet. I don’t have the best family, and i don’t have very many friends, but all those little moments with them really mean a lot to me, it’s so sweet to think there’s people who truly love me, despite not understanding me any better than i do. God, i love this game and it’s soundtrack.
I believe the morning sun,
Always gonna shine again.
I believe a pot of gold,
Awaits at every rainbow's end, oh.
I believe in roses kissed with dew,
Why shouldn't I believe the same in you.
That kind of temind me the day i left my family to start my own life...
It sounds hard but it was the best thing that could ever happen to me as where i headed learned for probaly the first time how it was to be in a family that REALY cares about me.
I love how its a remix of the Pollyanna theme from the original game
How I (lol probably) would have reacted to Earthbound as a child:
Onett: Your average town.
Twoson: wHy DoEs EvEryone hAte mE
Peaceful Rest: The first dangerous area.
Happy Happy: Blue, blue.
Threed: The hell is this?
Winters: Quiet, I'm waiting for Tessie.
Threed at last: Okay, I murderererered the zambies, what next?
Saturn Valley: bOIng
Grapefruit Falls: EXP farming.
Desert: The third best place to be!
Fourside: The New New York.
Dalaam: Poop jokes? 10/10
Soothing.
I'll grow up and buy an office building. At the end of each working day, I'll play this.
Did you?
Damn did you now?
Any updates?
i gotta know
*No place like home.*
It took me a while to realize this, but this is actually a calm remix of Pollyanna from Mother 1/EarthBound beginnings.
Perfect to listen to while relaxing😌
^^ Defitnatly one of my favorite tracks of the series.
👍😃
Sometimes I hung around in a house longer than I needed to, just so I could sing along to this... :)
I remember discovering the homesick mechanic for the first time. I was out in the desert and noticed Ness was a little off for some reason. Looking it up and discovering the mechanic melted my heart. Despite everything, he’s just a kid.
this gives me goose bumps, so many thoughts for this simple yet beautiful song
Anyone missing their childhood memories yet? I still believe in promises spoken as you cross your heart and...
mother 1-3/earthbound music had some of the most touching music/storylines of any game series ever!!
THE BEST SONG IN THE ENTIRE GAME
Oh, those towns, always so peaceful... Yeah. Ye-Yeah.
This Song Gives Me The Same Feeling I Had When I First Got My Nintendo Switch & Realized That System Would Revive All My SNES Childhood Memories From Earthbound & It Was The Same Feeling I Got Everytime I Got A New Nintendo Console! 😂
When it’s normal, it gives me like nostalgia, then when it’s slower, it makes me depressed.
So am I right in saying that this music is Pollyanna, which has been rearranged into this piece called "Home Sweet Home"? There seems to be multiple names for this like My Home and Home Again etc.
uhh found a nice "net band" version! if you are interested in that sort of thing
watch?v=_jotF8H26nE
Love it when an old ost upload gets into my recommended and I see the wholesome 7-ish year old comments
Reminds me of good times. I remember this music for the first time, and listening to it while I was still playing EarthBound. I remember playing EarthBound during quarantine, right as my last meeting ended, and even during the meeting. I remember chilling at Ness’ house just to hear this music. I remember the instant nostalgia for EarthBound. I remember the simpler times.
For the most part, I prefer Mother 3, no questions asked. I like the story more, I prefer its gameplay, I more often listen to its soundtrack. Heck, when it comes to making sprites, reading/making theories, and messing with game cheats, I go to Mother 3 first and don’t really think of the other two games.
But nothing beats Home Sweet Home for me. Nothing is like nostalgia for that one game you love to make you truly go back to the feel of playing that game for the first time.
I love this score song makes me feel like I wanted to call my parents when my two year old brother died of alcohol poisoning but then I remember I you want him to do you so much you could do anything
Dang it used to take such a long time for games to be released in regions other than Japan. It's too bad we don't have the other Mother games outside Japan.
oh nothings better than being at home
I feel like Ness's mother is Ana by this theme because to me, it represents that Ana and her friends where at the times when Pollyanna was at their destiny.
MOTHER and EarthBound take place like six years apart from each other, m8.
Smashy 2018 yeah just like ness' father which I guess is ninten
maybe its called mother for a reason
It’s funny how you can hear earthbound beginnings’ Pollyanna theme throughout the song
I love this song it makes me think of how greatful i am for what i have and its relaxing (and i'm pretty sure Earthbound was confirmed on Wii U so i am super excited for that)
What are you grateful for?
your home is not only the house in which you grew up, but also the people with whom you spent the best moments and consider your loved ones
In every place they are, no matter what, that will be your home ♥️
Idk started to think this when I was listening this beautiful tune
Honestly makes me regret all the mistakes and bad stuff I did back then.
Man this game was so good watch a gameplay of chugga playing this had a blast with this
It's 9 years...We still miss you Mr Iwata.
This theme is beautiful and makes me want to grab my "metal baseball bat" and my backpack and go on a journey with 3 of my best friends.😃
(totally not a refference to the best game ever)
Well, it is coming out on the WiiU virtual console. Nintendo confirmed it weeks ago. And yes, this was for regions outside Japan.
You said it best brother!
We're constantly told that the "good old days" are a myth. But the truth is, they are real... even if only in our hearts.
And if "the good old days" are only real in our hearts, they still are real, because we are real. And we have the ability to hope for and even create a future that resembles this image we have in our hearts. So we should never lose hope for a better future, a future we can see in our hearts.
For some reason, that's what this melody is making me feel right now when I listen to it.
I love it! :D
I miss my mom. Anything else I try to say regarding this song will not come out correctly. Just remember...you only get one mom. Call her if you can.
The game with the best music
I like the guitars that play 0:15 because they are cool, and everything else gives a sense of controlled sadness that just makes you feel sad but you know its just a feeling.
after beating earthbound, this song gets even better.
true
Very nice music!!! I like it.
Nostalgia.. so much nostalgia..
I don’t know who needs to see this but this is amazing meditation music
Whoa! Great!
Ahhh, sweet music
This song reminds me of some of my friends. Some I haven't talked to in ages. But there's one, he's never been in the best state of mind but he always is a nice person to talk to. I was listening to this when he was discussing possibly cutting ties with me. I almost cried
I'm amazed of all of the weed related videos to this...
Man, that's why I thank life music exist, because some songs have such powerful melodies that can hit you hard emotionally, Never played the Earthbound series before but this song somehow reminded me of my mom, which passed away a few years ago, got flashbacks of my good memories with her and the last months her health decayed till her last breath, gotta admit I cried while listening to this...
The Magic Mothersong made UA-cam relax.
Just tear my heart out already.
i just recently beat this game and it's a masterpiece. even though this is my first time playing, this game still manages to give me nostalgic feelings... it's amazing. i don't know how they did it. this is easily in my top 3 games of all time, if not the very first
Pollyanna
I think that's the only song that has appeared in all three Mother games, it really feels like the main theme of the series
I remember earthbound was a hard game back then... it doesnt get any easier now... ykno... its hard to play with tears in your eyes hehe... good times.
mother series one of best video games series nintendo must be known this series more!
Anyone here after they announced the mother games being added to the switch?
