mickey blowman great respect to our kiwi brothers from across the ditch. Couldn't have ANZAC without NZ. I appreciate everything your service men and women have done for us.
My fathers buddy served in the SAS during the Vietnam war. He passed away 10 years ago now. He was a very quiet man with a massive gun collection and a house in the lower Hunter Valley bush that looked like a bunker.
Lol you know the SAS carry out the proganda that the government want us to believe right? Eg 9/11. They are puppets just like any other soldiers doing the dirty work for the corporations of this world.
@blue bird Couldnt have said it better myself old mate, the 24hr news cycle of modern times has seen the early 'retirement' of several Australian Prime Ministers and the gleeful way in which some reporters cover the fall of proud men and women is an embrassment to the profession. Now our morals and values are handed to the public with surveys and university studies that change as frequently as a UN's cilmate outlook, some say for the better but imho taken on a whole my parents values ring more true than the modern day policticaly correct values of today. You can't can't kill a bloke with paper but you can sure ruin a person's life with a front page!
The media have their role and they’ve often been on the side of the regiment, but there are a lot of bad eggs in the media who want to tear down the regiment over one or two bad eggs
Recommend reading books , “ Colonel Paddy “ and “ Rogue Warrior “ tell ing the story of the SAS legendary Irishman Blair Maine , was a real hero among many heroes ,
Never under estimate the enemy. And if you are the enemy, well, never ever under estimate the fighting men of, Australia, Canada, NZ or UK. Or the fighting men of the country that was once known as, Rhodesia, or South Africa, India, and Pakistan.( Anyone for a Game of Cricket!) Much respect to you all from me, a UK Vet.

I was in College almost 30 years ago with a young Vietnamese guy. He told me his Uncle had been a VC and used to talk about the Australian "Ghosts of the jungle" and how much they scared the crap out of the VC.
Great respect for history SAS 🇦🇺.Great respect for good operations antiterroriste. Great respect for help, protect and support people 🕊️ Good luck !Be safe
I heard a story from an old soldier ex-1 Royal Pacific Islands Regiment of the PNGDF, that back in the 70s and 80s the SASR would send some of their troops up to PNG for jungle warfare exercises with the PNGDF. The old guy says our ordinary infantry boys found it quite easy to track & capture SASR troopers during the exercise because they stuck out like a sore thumb in the jungle despite their best attempts at camo and evasion tactics. Maybe the SASR were politely letting the host force win? In any case, the old soldier found it rather amusing retelling how they used to ambush the SASR troopers, bind their hands with plasti-cuffs and march them off to “internment".
Ivan Eccles yeah you got out at the right time (94) .... 95 Bcoy was stripped of its good soldiers in response to Acoy tour to Malaysia..... Bcoy was filled with lids ..... the next 12 months if you marched in from Singleton your went straight into Bcoy lol ....and Ccoy were full of our brothers who no longer have a fuck lol .... the next 2yrs Acoy was known as ARAR ..we were the 3rd battalion ..... old faithful !

Yes - but please understand why and how it could have been prevented. Its the reason Japan is now a great country - MacArthur said they will never be a threat again because we will make them like us. They did it by stationing allied forces there for the long term. This is not a war you will win by going in, then getting out. It can only be won by staying the course, putting up with the body bags, and showing these fundamentalists a better way. Australia did the same thing in Timor with our Sparrow Force, one of the precursors to the SASR, during WW2. They defeated the Japanese with the help of the locals by winning their trust. This happened in a famous incident where a crack shot saw an Australian chasing a local woman to rape her. Raping women is an an anathema to an Australian (of course there are nut cases, but your average Australian gets very angry about actually doing it - although in Aussi blue 'discussions' you will hear it - but that's all it is - talk). He took his Bren gun and fired over the head of the rapist who stopped in his tracks. The locals did not know he was a crack shot and thought he was shooting at the rapist. Word spread the Australians shoot those, even their own soldiers, that want to rape their women. Soon, the Timorese had every Australian allocated a Timorese companion to aid them. The Japanese instead enslaved the Timorese women as 'comfort women' for their soldiers. When Timor become an independent country years later, civil war broke out. The Australians then returned to restore peace. When they landed they were greeted like returning heroes, old men from the WW2 days came down from the mountains to again aid the Australians. That's how you win such a war. Show the locals you are their friends, stay the course, and never let them down. But now we have countries like the US saying we are not the worlds policemen and leaving far too soon. Democracy and freedom can never loose, but its price is eternal vigilance. With that people will see, first hand, why that is. We, the free countries of the world, must never let them down. Lest anyone think Australia is perfect their is the incident of the Timor gas fields jointly owned by Australia and Timor. Australia bugged the Timorese to screw them on the price. The bugging was only discovered later, and just bye the bye, we are treating the person that broke the story horrendously, but that is really a whole discussion in itself. Of relevance here is when the old solders from the Timorese days found out the Timoese were being screwed, they bought some of them over to march alongside our soldiers in the Anzac day parade, and blitzed the airwaves with an advertisement exposing what we were doing to our friends. Needless to say that disgusting 'deal' was replaced by one much fairer - 60-40 in Timor's favor if I remember correctly.

Love the music choice, Lillie Marlene, the SS used it as they're anthem!
Axis and allies both used the song. Marlene Dietrich hated Hitler and left nazi Germany. She recorded an English version of the song.
One of the unofficial anthems of the ww2 SAS in North Africa, they had their own lyrics too
