But this is a Skylake CPU, so it's in the same boat as the Optiplex with Windows 11 "compatibility." You need 8th Gen Intel or 2nd Gen Ryzen to be fully "compatible" but you can install Windows 11 on either 4th or 6th gen and it runs just fine. The only worry you have is if M$ cuts off security updates eventually.
I am going to pin your comment as it has some great technical relevance. Seems based on some surface level research I've done so far and even though Lenovo states this platform is "supported" I guess we really do not know until we are deep into windows 10 EoL term. It would be a shame if is MS drops this CPU too because it is not THAT old. Time will tell. I may just hold on to this system for term length testing to see how well this ages in the next few years.
For reference, here is a link to MS's currently support windows 11 CPUs. Stated here too, this list is dynamic and can change over time.

@@PCTechHustle I tried to tell you the same thing.
8th gen would be better anyways because theres a dude that tests budget cpus for Star Citizen which is a core hungry game and the minimum if u want to play without stutter is 3600 or 8700 coffeelake, i imagine i7 and Xeon Coffeelake will become budget friendly soon OR step up to that rite now. But yeah who knows what MS is going to do in 24 or 25 if they are going to block Updates, they mite be workarounds tho, we will see.
I installed Windows 11 on an Atom bro 💀
Im watching your channel for the first time, glad I got the reco from YT. Great channel and you got a new follower!

W-2135 P520 with 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, 1080 ti, added an extra 92mm, 80mm and 40mm noctura fans along with the stock fans. I replaced the CPU cooler with a 110mm Thermalright silver soul and added a second fan on it. Fits fine with the dual fan BUT you need to remove the square handle latch cover on the inside of the door paneI. I removed the mother board to remove the rivets holding the HD case and now I have a massive amount of room. I also cut a viewing window the size of a standard envelope so you can perfectly see my GPU through the acrylic glass. Very nice!
Fantastic! Could u share yr part numbers ? So the xeon cooler was too tall ?
I forgot to mention that X299 is a really underrated platform. There was almost no non-business market.
I just wish this specific platform I could go back and upgrade to an i7/i9 from the same era for possible some improved performance. You can only do Xeons in these guys.
@@PCTechHustle So these Lenovo systems are not Cascade Lake compatible?
these are c422 mobo. they are all xeons, can go up to the w-2195 which is a 18 core 36 thread. but the 2155 10 core 20 thread is a bit more affordable.
@@theconsigliere8463 They also support the W-22xx series.....
I've gone through a couple of these boogers (Not because they broke down, just kept selling them lol). They are really solid and the fact that 99.9% of listings you'll see come with a 900w PSU and two 8 pin connectors, is great for GPU compatibility. Awesome machine for someone looking to build something simple yet powerful.
yeah its about time this segment matured, what a pain back in the day having to replace the power supply just to power up a decent video card.
@@MrSamadolfo Beautiful thing is? As the machines of 2019 and 2020 continue to age, they'll be in the next wave of liquidation sales and showing up in crazy amounts on ebay lol.

A very clever build. Thank you.
Whats a good budget CPU for the P520
Looks like so much fun to upgrade.
Although I’m still keeping my eyes on some of the optiplexes from 2018/2019 for the MT form factor. It’s a budget itx sleeper
Good to see you are still doing videos, have not seen yours in a while! Miss the used price to performance hidden gems! One thing for sure, setting up that platform with quad channel 2666mhz ram sticks will definitely boost gaming performance with the memory bandwidth compared to dual channel.
Yep life has been busy recently. Back on track!
That's quite an impressive bargain! This would be a great machine to replace on of the older machines in my homelab. These old workstations seem to be a great combination of performance and expansion options for the price.
Couldn’t agree more!
I chose the Dell precision route 5820 runs 11 with no issues and I like my xeon w-2135. Great video
Awesome!
Does the dell precision 5840 have nvme or ddr4 by chance?
For the last few hours I'm trying to find a workstation very similar to the P520 but would like to run ddr4 ram...
But it's going to be real hard to find a workstation w 900w PSU, 2 options for nvme, all the space in the universe for any GPU and that price point
10-cores floating around on eBay for a few hundred. So many options with this beast! Definitely going to snag one before there is even more hype and do 4 sticks for 32GB and some HDD to make it a NAS/VM/Media server as well.
Would be perfect for a server!
I set mine up finally. While I wait for the 64gb Ram to arrive, I have a W-2133 cpu, 16gb Single stick of memory, an RX6600, a 512GB NVME drive, and a pair of 10TB WD Red drives from my previous media server. All for $450 delivered. You cannot beat this beast for the price I paid. It handles my livestreaming, 4K video editing, Plex server, working from home, and gaming. Honestly, doing this is the way to go.
Heck yeah!
This is the comment I was looking for. Just want a cheap desktop for home use to edit 4k and maybe some livestreaming (video/text only). Sounds like you're saying it's a winner?
@Clintboyd let's just say, when my son and are playing together, on Fortnite, I can game at 4K, medium settings, at 95-100 fps consistently. I can push out 4K videos with ease. It is THE absolute way to go.
Got one of these with 32gb in October for $177. Fantastic hardware after plugging a video card and a 1TB m.2 and ten minutes later had Windows 10 Pro installed. Best deal ever.
Agreed! So much value in these machines!
Think it could stream (just video/text) well and edit 4k?
Impressed
Thanks!
I just upgraded from my optiplex 7040 SFF with a Rx6400 in it to a Lenovo Thinkcentre m920s and I upgraded the PSU and put in the 4060 low profile.
Nice!
Would a rtx 3050 low profile fit in that same build?
I just built a P520 myself. Paid $174 with 32gb already installed. I used a Teamgroup 4th gen one terabyte NVME & a MSI 3060 12 gig GPU. Meets all requirements for standard installation of Windows 11. I am planning to upgrade to 64 gigs of RAM. I use the machine for DaVinci Resolve and gaming with great results, couldn't be happier.
Nice!
Do you edit 4k on it? Considering this type of build. For live streaming video (not gaming) also? What do you think?
Currently using this with a 6700xt and its been a beast for the money . Heat is the main issue noctua makes a cooler thats low profile and is compatible with that socket .
And windows 11 wont be any issue for this platform.
Nice! Ooo I do love the idea of replacing the cooler!
@@PCTechHustle NH-D9DX i4 3U i believe thats the cooler . i accidently purchased the d9l but made it work with all the spare hardware i have around and its definetly an upgrade over stock.
@@PCTechHustle Yes that noctua works and also repleaced the fans in mine and added a second intake fan as those stock fans the cpu gets so hot. Now at max load it stays frosty.
@deadatdawn2108 Do you mind linking which 6700xt you went with and confirming the Noctua cooler? I am thinking of doing this exact setup.

i like this system i am into mini pc but this is a good server the 2 NVMe was a major surprise
Oh man it would make a KILLER server! You can go as high as 18 core CPUs in this guy and obviously bucket loads of RAM.
Im going to build an extremely similar pc except with quad channel ram. It's going to be a huge upgrade from my optiplex with an i5 4570 and a 1050ti.
Massive upgrade indeed!
I picked up my Lenovo Thinkstation P520 in early February. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, Fedora 39 and MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1. It has 64GB ECC RDIMMs (8x8GB), W-2135 CPU and an RX 5700 (no XT). With 4 512GB NVMe drives with 2 PCIe adapters, I have almost $600 into it. I like it. I don't game. I will play with Proxmox on it soon.

Picked up a Lenovo Thinkstation P500 32GB Ram, Xeon E5-2697 v3 14 Core 28 Threads for $100. Upgraded to a 650 PSU $22 and added a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB that I had laying around. 256GB SSD for OS (Windows 10 Pro for now) and 8TB HDD for Data and stuff. This is a beast! I'll be updating to Latest Windows 11 Pro sometime this year. Awesome Gaming PC!
Heck yeah! Nice!!!
I got this but upgraded to the xeon w-2195 and with a 2933mhz ram with an rtx 4080 runs perfectly
WoW! A 4080! I think I defiantly want to do some more upgrades to this thing, for sure.
@@PCTechHustle yh it definitely a diamond in the rough
I enjoy my P520 Brickstation even though it's nearly all proprietary and doesn't offer a whole lot of options for hardware that you can use in typical PC builds, such as mounts for AIO coolers or additional front fans. Like the one in the video, I purchased mine for $180 and it came with an Xeon W-2135, two 16 GB DDR4s, and the titanium 900w PSU. At the time of purchase I found a used PNY 1070 OC xlr8 with broken fans for about $100 on fleaBay, a few months later I needed more drive space and got a 2TB WD black SN850x for about $150. It's a great machine for gaming, editing video and audio, and so on, but I should say that these machines are not for everyone because they are rather different from the average desktop.
You can absolutely put more front fans. I have 3. You can add a fan below the stock fan at 92mm OR you can remove the stock front fan from the plastic enclosure and remove the metal mount strip with pliers and you have room for 2x120mm fans. I also put a 80mm fan where the 2 blank plastic covers are next to the power interface. I drilled a lot of holes in the 2 plastic trim pieces and attached the 80mm to in on the inside so you cant see it. I also added a 40mm fan right below the GPU.
W-2135 P520 with 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, 1080 ti, added an extra 92mm, 80mm and 40mm noctura fans along with the stock fans. I replaced the CPU cooler with a 110mm Thermalright silver soul and added a second fan on it. My time spy score is 9140 with a 24 inch monitor using HDR and 180hz refresh rate
@memberberry7139 Yes, you can always customize a case to suit your needs. I was thinking of installing 40mm fans in the external drive bay because I'm also using an optical drive but haven't gotten around to doing it yet. What I mean by hardware options is that the case doesn't have built-in accommodations from Lenovo. If you were to use an ATX case from Microcenter and add front fans, you'd be able to use any 120mm fan because the frame has mounting points already punched out. The front of the P520 doesn't exactly have the same discreet options to do the same thing.
Is there any cards inbetween the RX 5700 XT and RX 7900 XTX in terms of performance that I could put in this?
Cool video. I am watching this on my Dell T3600 with an old E5-2665 and 64GBs of RAM. I also have a T5610 which is for parts now. So I have a spare 600Watt PSU.
Like these thinkCentres some of the Dells are also great options. I run Linux on mine so I don't really need to worry about Microsoft's arbitrary system requirements.
I will be good to go until newer instruction sets become a requirement which so far has not been an issue.
Nice!
Check out the Dell Precision T7910 if you want to go crazy. Dirt cheap. I'm running dual E5-2699V4 with 256GB RAN, 14TB of RAID 50 and 2x2 TB NVME in a dell carrier. Oh and an Intel X540 dual 10 GbE and 2080ti. It has a 1400W PSU.... Built it for fun and large compilations...

I built one of these but upgraded to a w2145 8 core and an rx-6800. It's so fast. I also have an HP z4 g4 with a 3070ti. Great computers and super stable. The RAM speed isn't fast but it runs in quad channel which makes up for it quite well. It pushes my 6800 to its max and isn't even using 50% CPU most of the time.

@@Kevin-vh6nn FYI, I had to trim some plastic off the fan enclosure on my p520 to fit the 6800 in there (but I think mine is longer than most - XFX Speedster SWFT 319). That is a great card though. Runs SO cool.
I had 64GB RAM (4x16) but sold my HPZ4 recently and included 2 sticks. If you get 2rx8 RAM, there isn't much difference between 2 and 4 sticks. I am not going to bother getting 2 more. It has plenty of RAM and games like crazy.

It does! Never remove those!
A really well made and easy to understand tutorial.
But Im sorta stumped about cores/graphics cards for this P520.
I watched a video by Toasty Bros where they also converted the P520 to a gaming pc. They used PCSP to custom order a P520, and installed a Radeon RX6600, they ordered a 4 core.
Im also looking into building one of these, I do enjoy gaming, but I also do a fair amount of video editing. Would you recommend a 4 core or a 6 core?
Also, what would be the better graphics card? The Radeon 6600, GTX Geforce 3060, or the Rx5700XT you used here.
Im pretty noobish when it comes to the niches of compatibility, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks for watching! With video editing I would definitely say at a minimum get the 6 core. You can upgrade to an 8 core as well the w2145/2245. You can even go beyond that but it gets a lot more expensive. Of the GPUs you mentioned, the 5700xt is the best performer. A 6700 if you go with the XT version though would be the best.
@@PCTechHustle Thank you! Very helpful!
just got mine, running ubuntu with steam!
I've just bought an Optiplex 3020 for my grandson to play Minecraft and Roblox on with Win11 installed, so I don't think the Optiplex is quite obsolete just yet.
I think 4th gen will still run windows 11. For how long is the bigger question though. I might be in the same boat with this system. Time will tell!
I mean there are some Optiplexes that will officially support Windows 11, like the 7060 I set up for my sister. It has an 8th-gen i7. I paired it with a Sapphire Pulse low profile RX 6400
for something like minecraft and even older titles and maybe some more current the optiplex will be fine, its those that are looking for the more demanding stuff the optiplex will start to show its age.
So to add to this, you can get one of these with 6 cores and 12 threads, 16gb ram, and aometimes a quadro gpu for less than $200 usd.
By comparison you are looking at the dell optiplex 7060 or 7070 for 8th and 9th gen cpus with similar core count.
But those have the space and gpu limitations and while they do have faster core speeds on the cpu and support faster ram, they dont easily allow for a powerful gpu.
The ThinkStation is so cheap for the performance that i have basically stopped recommending optiplex machines for those that are in the $200-$400 budget range.
Granted, every damn thing on this is proprietary so that has to be factored in. But its a beast for the price.
Good points / information. This is why I think it can become a meta for very lost to entry. Sure it’s very proprietary but at this cost of entry you really can’t get away from that.
Which gpus and cpus are equivalent between brands is so confusing to me, my system is very old and I want something that will run the new WOW expansion at good settings, would this work? Recommended specs are:

12c/24t Xeon V4 + Mobo combo is $50. 5700XT is $140-$150 used. $40 case, DDR3 for 10$ and a decent 500w $40 80+ PSU and u got urself a better deal than the p520.
Better Deal? In terms of cost, yeah. Yeah but not better value. I promise you this configuration of p520 will smoke what you are referring to 😜
@@PCTechHustle Oh fr? I was under the impression that the $50 combo would be a better pick for the price D:
There's even a Xeon with 14c and 28t. I know numbers aren't everything but it helps"!
Not a chance. Firstly E5 V4's use ECC RDIMM DDR4, and a 12C V4 will turbo up to a max of 3.8GHz. The E5-2699V4 is the highest core count. 22C/44T.
Don't ThinkStations require ECC RAM? You don't mention anything about that? Or is this one not got a Xeon?
No they support both non-ECC and ECC memory!
One thing I'd like to point out is you might be careful with your RAM selection and using Xeon systems as some require ecc ram and some don't. Other than that it is a really clean and strong system.
ECC ram is a bonus because you can pick it up for super cheap in very large capacity.
Right! This is ECC memory actually.
I've been eyeballing these Xeon Scalable prebuilts for a while. The internals are very cleanly laid out for a prebuilt, but in general Lenovo tends to be harder (and/or more expensive) to get second-hand parts for if something breaks, to the point you will eventually end up just buying a whole second system to take parts from to repair your primary. Dell's parts on the other hand (other than Flexbay components) tend to be disgustingly cheap, and only get cheaper with time.
is this still the meta? im thinking of doing a similar build with a 2070
Sure! Go for it!
What type of chip upgrade could you dump in this mobo? If any?
Depends on the use-case but I’d say the best for gaming / raw IPC performance the w2245 is the best as it has the highest overall clock speed and ups the core count to 8 cores / 16 threads. If you are looking more for raw compute cores you can really go far with the CPU, up to 18core / 36 thread.

What about an optiplex i7-8700? They are pretty cheap as well and also 8th gen.
Yes that will work fine and support windows 11. The only problem with those generation of Optiplex is they don’t have much upgradability
@@PCTechHustle awesome, and yeah unfortunately.
A 6650 xt should work with the p520 as well right?
Yes it most certainly will!
Should have bought two more dimms for quad channel since they were so cheap. This effectively increases your ram speed.
Yes I could have. I would have had to buy 3 though.
@@PCTechHustle In the end though for your use case scenario two sticks of 2666 is more than sufficient. Just min maxing. ;^p
I just may do a follow up video to see what happens if I add 2 more 🤔🤔🤔
@@PCTechHustle Could be a test to see if it quad channel matters in gaming. Typically you only see fps gains if the ram is very high clocked like ddr4/5 which no dual channel ddr3 kit can match. But quad can certainly push 2666 into effectively high 3000's performance wise or even higher. Content is content!
Can’t you force update to windows 11 on the old dell optiplex ?
Yeah you can with registry edits.
@@PCTechHustle cool thanks 🙏 I wanted to try make a dell optiplex build, are there major cons on forcing the update like performance wise as since now a lot of people may be moving to thinkstations the prices of dell optiplex will drop even more
these also support cascade lake with 2933 . also if you have quad channel please populate all 4 channels
Quad channel actually does not really make any major difference in gaming, nice to have for other work loads but nothing real measurable. I did do a video after this one though of where I max it out for fun. 256GB or RAM 🤪🤪🤪
bruh i literally had this build a year ago but i built my own now and put rx 5700xt in it now my Lenovo has a gtx 1080 founder edition i found for $40 at a thrift store and a $20 24inch 1080p 75hz monitor but altogether it was a little over $450 but my mouse and keyboard cost the most in my setup razer huntsmen v2 and razer mamba elite
Nice!!
Shame getting this into my country is very costly. Hopefully it get popularize more in Malaysia's market soon.
Bummer! I hope too they become more available to you!
Will the 2666mhz ram on amazon work with this at its full speed?
Maybe? Not sure why at kid you are referring to
What's a good budget cpu for the p520
I’d say stick with the one I explain in this video first, the Xeon w2135
I am getting this, but it does not have built-in wifi. Does it my ethernet is in my parents' room downstairs
No built in wifi but you can grab one of these and install it to get wifi running.

Thank you. Plus, I asked the guy on. Ebay he said it's built in. I was unsure since I'm building my first pc
10:03 - That's what she said! 🤣🤣🤣
"That's what," she said.
🤣🤣🤣
"ive been never aware that this things got this big, what i think i found was a minor" 💀
@@Seniken😂😂😂
lmao i JUST got an optiplex 😭
I'm turning mine into a media server, if i ever want to game on it, I can always install an Arc A380 and use Linux to run ReBarUEFI so the GPU is usable.
Depending on the year model of Optiplex you could be fine
it's a 4th gen chip sadly@@PCTechHustle but i can apparently install a regular ATX PSU so i might try that
Every time I hear 'proprietary' I take a step back. If the psu malfunction you are screwed, there is no cable conversion option to this kind of direct connection to the motherboard for a normal 24 pin psu.
The risk you take but the system was so cheap it’s easy to just buy another. 🤪🤪🤪
I don't know so much about the Thinkstations but I am typing this on a Dell T3600 and with some of these workstations they are going for so cheap you can buy an entire second PC for parts for the price of a higher end PSU.
Plus workstation components are usually built to a higher spec than consumer level parts.
So it is not as bad as it might seem at first.
Lenovo kept this model in production until the last year or so. The same chassis was also used for the P620 Threadripper workstation and the PSU was also used in the P720. There are tons of parts available for these systems at low prices. I picked up a new 1000W PSU for about $160 on eBay a couple months ago.
900W PSU is $40 all day on ebay. Not an issue IMHO...
the PSUs for this system are much better and cheaper than regular PSUs. SKU to search are DPS-900EB or 54Y8979
get a dell optiplex 7050 or 7060 because they are way newer and way cheaper and the 7060 has 8th gen support and the 7050 has 7th gen support but you can use a iso for win 11
But what kind of GPU can you fit in those?
Which will get more fps rtx 4060 ti with the intel core i5 13400f or the rtx 4070 with the intel core i5 12400f
Hah! That’s a very close race! Hard to say. I’d lean more toward the setup with the 4070
It depends just a little at what resolution. At 1440, I would think the 4070 would still be better. Both are running at least 6 cores and cache size are very similar.
I'm not upgrading anymore windows.. back to the stone age for me. I've gone through 4 already
😳😳😳
Damn that 5700XT is thicc lol
I have one of these the fans are loud.
The fans are a bit loud, yes
Not sure I’d say its great for gaming - id say ok, but it is cheap, and the p520 is a delight to work with otherwise - lots of pci, up to 512GB ram, cane stick a 18 core cpu into it and my RTX3080 FE fits perfectly.
Not sure I’d say it’s “ok” 😉. Agree to disagree
That's crazy value for $400! I paid $350 for the following specs:
MSI Z370-A Pro Motherboard
i7 8700k
ASUS GTX 1060 6GB Turbo
16GB of DDR4 RAM @ 3000MHz
1TB NVME M.2 SSD
Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler
KEDIERS C570 open air case with 7 RGB fans. How would you compare my PC to your $400 build?
Can the p520 be case swapped?
I've not seen it done, not say maybe someone has. It would be massively difficult though with all the proprietary connectors and motherboard layout.
I still don’t know how to install windows on this I bought windows 11 and i just can’t install it on the Lenovo p520 can you maybe make a tutorial on how too?
That is odd. I was able to install no problem from USB boot device. Are you able to boot from a USB into the windows 11 installer? Feel free to also join my discord to chat more in-depth on the topic / troubleshooting channel.
I bought windows 11 from micro center put the usb into the motherboard and it just won’t work it’s stuck in boot just saying Lenovo
@@clermd I wonder if you have some other kind of issue? Take the USB out and see if you can just get a normal post / get into bios first.
🙂 pull out the usb jump drive and first verify that you can pull up the Bios screen, check out all the settings, maybe put everything to default. look up the boot order and move the boot order around so that USB boot is first, also the jump drive might have to be in a specific usb port on the back of the case. But first thing is to pull up the bios screen cause if you cant even do that then we have a big problemo.
IFF all is working on your P520, hit "Enter" in the start up and then select boot options and go from there. @@clermd
how much you could sell this system for??
Kind of depends but I’d say trying to make $50-100 profit is reasonable.
could you pls try valorant on this pc i was going to get this pc but val is my main game and i dont want to have bad perforense
Valorant will run fine. It can run on a potato
i have Optiplexes with Windows 11.
Turns out some still do support windows 11. For how long is the question though.
@PCTechHustle why wouldn't it be as long and W11 is supported?
Depends on which model you have
5700xt new is 550$ here in Bangladesh. I got one second hand yesterday for 350$ lol
USD?
@@PCTechHustle sorry converted it rn , it's 501 dollar USD. Still way too overpriced.
@azmaininkiyad8467 dang! Burn that’s still very expensive!
you really should have 4 ram sticks - it does quad channel
It does but I don’t think quad channel is going to be helpful in gaming scenarios. I am going to test that though
From my brief interlude of this subject, it really doesn't help a ton. It does in essence....help smooth things out a lil. @@PCTechHustle
@@kevngeek yeah I’ll test it but I’m not expecting much.
Now prices are gonna go up now😭
Oops
@@PCTechHustle from $176 to $266 😞
Windows 10 can't be upgraded to Windows 11 on your old hardware? It's time to learn some linux distributions!
True but not for everyone.
$400 sink for 10-year-old equipment with a 1044 at most cap is meh... Good money chasing old equipment?
With windows 10 going eol, a huge amount of enterprise hardware is going to flood or maybe wet the market.
Going to be interesting indeed!
You got that machine incredibly cheap!!! Lowest price for same model on ebay uk is £356.00 hardly a budget build, but mght still be worth it.
Dang! Still not bad but yeah quite a bit more in the UK!
I think that this kind of flip is not woth it anymore in today market. For 100€ here, in EU we can start finding am4 combos like 2600x or 3600 processor + mobo and in some cases 3200mhz xmp dual channel ram. With the rest (300€) we can build a machine that is upgradble until a 5800x3d that is also today a beast of processor.
Agreed there are really good deals out there now. I will too actually next month being doing a super budget focused build for ~$400USD. Full custom build, no prebuilt like this. Stay tuned, that one will be a big challenge!
@@PCTechHustle the machine of this video is a beast... And you did a superb content... I like more video like this than the ultra priced build. Looking forward to see the next budget build from 0... I'm starting one too... I found a 10400, ddr4 3200, and an H mobo for 130€ here in Italy :)
Thanks! Happy holidays and PC building!
sure, Ryzen 3600 or i7 8700 or something better
Oh no MS isn't going to support Windows 10 what am I too do. If you are really concerned about security then use a Linux install, gaming is pretty much all I need from Windows.
Linux has plenty of its flaws too. This video is mainly about gaming and support for that into the future.
Respectfully. This has been a common budget build for the last two years. Not sure why it's coming up as a 2024 "New Meta".
Because Optiplex is on its way out!
Finally, someone said it! Thank you! People buying all these computers for gaming even though they can't be upgraded to Windows 11 and "will" need to be replaced by Oct of 2025. I say that's a waste of money unless you are a kid and need something right away. Thank you! Have a GREAT holiday. I never gamed on any pc, I have always used a console, I'm not even a big gamer, don't like it. I'm an older senior that uses a pc for office work and just watching UA-cam. I do still buy music CDs and DVDs/Blurays, I don't do digital for either.
L pfp
🙂 a console is not really practical over the lifetime of a consumer due to DRM, you cannot copy the game plus the game is locked to a particular generation of hardware. Where now we are finally free from that, not all games are available yet but if you go over to GOG all the video games are drm free and will work on most computers from way back in day Windows XP all the way up to Windows 11. It's a great time in history for video games on the pc platform. Plus you can copy the game to any usb jump drive and share it with friends and family. It's a beautiful thing.
I'm not inclined to pay an arm and a leg to add to a computer throughout time. I don't have kids but I'm sure parents with teenagers wouldn't want too either. In this case a console would be practical for a parent that can't afford those upgrades, until the kids are old enough to build their own computer and spend their own money on updates. A gaming pc is of no use to me, I do office work on my desktops. Thanks for the insight though @@MrSamadolfo
This machine natively supports W11. Do some research before posting such nonsense.
@@timfountain98 🙂 glad to hear that, i feel sorry for all the Ewaste

3rd world country still sell this lenovo p520 for over 1000$
Dang! Way too expensive! Hope it comes down soon!
That GPU aint fkin around... that a big ass card, lol.
Haha! Yep!
They said windows 10 was supposed to be "the last windows". Should have known that was BS. I'm sick of having to "upgrade" and find they changed a bunch of crap and made simple things unnecessarily complicated.
Last windows? I’ve not heard that before. Expect to always be having new releases of windows though, I doubt that ever changes.
I just dropped win11 on a Ryzen3 2200g, b450 board, 16 gigs ram, and a rx550 gpu and have it activated. It's running fairly well, not a barn burner but adequate for minor stuff.
Nice!
All these are sold out now smh
Dang! Keep on the lookout then! I am sure more will come into the wild again!
