I have already mentioned on several other podcast that if the Dline plays the way they did against Tenn. by getting those big paws up when they don’t get to duck QB and bat/deflect those pass attempts it will be huge. Getting pressure on him but containing with good fundamental open field tackling. He isn’t as accurate on the run from pocket.

The two things that killed us in the first Oregon game were the lack of preparation and execution. At least now we know what we're up against. Last week, we saw the preparation, execution, and willpower to win, and this is the winning formula from here on out.

      Oregon compared to last meeting:
      Stronger O-line
      Stronger D-line
      Stronger TEs
      Healthy team.
      Rested
      Lots of prep time
Lanning said many players are breaking their personal records in weight room.
Oregon has far out performed season expectations and this was a rebuild year, lost a lot of great players. No pressure.
Lanning is aggressive as hell and has already won the season at Oregon.
He will have his Missouri boot on Day's neck early in this game and day will blow a nut.
Ohio State compared to last meeting:
      Weaker O-line, injuries.
      Stronger D-line
Less rest and prep time, could be good or bad.
Your coach and team must win this game or the season is a failure.
      Day chokes in big games.
      Oregon advantage:
      QB, O-line, special teams
      OSU advantage:
      D-line
      RBs
      Wash:
      Receivers
      DBs
Gabriel will have good protection like last time, which will be a big problem for OSU.
Oregon can go long ball or dink and dunk.
We'll see is OSU can do the same as Howard will be pressured.
It's going to be a great game.

    Three possibilities:
    A. The defense was never broken, it just played a playoff offense, and playoff offenses almost always score points, even against top defenses (my suspicion)
    B. The defense has glaring issues, they just haven't played anyone outside of oregon that is talented enough to expose them (think this is also partly true)
    C. The defense did have glaring issues, but has fixed them since.
It will be a great game... OL, DL, and Turnover battle will decide thisb

    • @scottpoling5521
      @scottpoling5521 17 днів тому

I don’t know that I would characterize problems that can only be exposed by elite talent as glaring problems.
Glaring problems are prominent because they’re exposed frequently (the 2018 team had glaring problems on defense).
I think A is partly true, B less so but imperfections do exist, and C is true partly.
Defense definitely not perfect, but their vanilla scheme bit them in the A against Oregon in October.

If yall noticed the first game against Oregon the deep ball we was getting beat on was a scheme problem I believe Jim saw on tape that Oregon don’t go deep so they was sitting on the short stuff this game will be different plus Oregon defense really couldn’t stop Ohio if it wasn’t for the offside kick and fumble we gave up Ohio would’ve won by double digits

    • @ericroberts6453

That's the wrong gameplan..they gotta keep Oregon's defense off balance by pre snap motions hitting the rb's in the flats stretching the field with Jj and running counters. They have to setup the run with the pass..and score td' a in the Red zone not Field goals

    • @sonofrobert
      @sonofrobert 17 днів тому

You are not getting pressure on Gabriel similar to the last Oregon game and that's a problem for Ohio State.
Oregon will have Burch, their best defensive player and Holden who is a good receiver back. Your O-line should be weaker from injuries so Oregon's D should be more successful.
Ohio State has better players overall but Oregon is a better team so I believe Oregon beats you for a third time and Oregon and Michigan will continue to be a problem for you guys.
Go Ducks and our secondary will not be off your receivers so far like sucky Tennessee.

CONCERN: Knowles, trying to limit Oregon big plays like previous game installs ‘bend don’t break’ strategy and Oregon says fine, and dinks & dunks its way downfield slowly having several 7/8/9 minute drives which will keep OSU Offense off the field and control game with time of possession…Knowles has to be aggressive and GET OFF THE FIELD on 3rd downs or OSU loses

This should be CRYSTAL CLEAR => The Game Plan will w/o a doubt be the most important thing.
Our Game Plan vs TTUN was abysmal and resulted in a loss.
Our Game Plan vs Tennessee => though flawed in certain areas (Special Teams comes to mind) was a cosmic leap forward from just a few weeks prior and the results really spoke for themselves.
Our Coaching Staff can be inept or pedestrian or elite……and adjustments from 1st hand game information usually has ZERO INFLUENCE !
The Xichigan game proved our players and their talent can’t overcome or compensate for these fatally flawed coaching inadequacies.
Let’s hope and pray that Chip & Ryan don’t squander yet another opportunity and ultimately our season with it !!!
Can’t we get Landis or Birm or Hartline to BITCHSLAP Kelly and Day if and when necessary ?
When our HC and OC jump the tracks => they certainly can’t find their way back on their own.
Our AD is too incompetent to do it.
Could Orlando Pace make a phone call ?
    Could Tom Herman ?
    Perhaps Joey Galloway ?
The time frame window won’t last long and any mid-step and we’ll be in the upside down world again.
Could Buckeye Nation get an early heads up to our general offensive scheme and plan of attack ? As long as it’s ballpark in the right direction => Chip can orchestrate the specifics.
But if it’s WRONG from the jump we’ll have to watch Jelly and Day soft drown our players hopes like they we’re little kittens…..and NO ONE wants to see that again.
Someone has to UNBURDEN THE SITUATION if it so arises….and it’s best to have a plan in place.
So Get Busy With It !!!!!
