@@rogerh.5792 Yeah i have also been doing this for long time tho in ground arcade. You can also counter this heli rocket spam by just controlling the rocket go from side or below or just trying to aim for the side at missile max detection range
And it's not just kamovs, you can do this with hellfires too. In fact pretty much any atgm will do the trick

@@EthanNenadic I haven't played the Italian tree at all but it has a decent amount of MBTs, light tanks, anti-air etc.. so yes, it's worth it! I was thinking about playing Italy some time soon.

Hey you can switch the radar mode of your Ka-52 to detect aircraft, it's 10x more useful than ground radar and basically let's you focus on the ground while your radar tells you whenever there's a jet or heli coming for you!

Learned it in a Hunter videos some months ago. Was equaly surprised. But this works with all helis, bot only Ka-50 and Ka-52.
Also, it's not like helis are dominating now. Fast jet spawns just kill them all and procceed to CAS everyone to hell.

Not really. If you’re in a KA-50/52 and have more than 3 brain cells, jets are not an issue. The way that Vikhrs are currently implemented, helis (specifically Russian) are many times more dangerous to jets than jets are to helis. It gets even worse if you head over to sim.
@@collander7766 While Vikhrs are indeed way too good against fast flying targets, any smart jet player will atack you from behind + above and kill you with missiles or guns while you try to avoid missiles. If they try to use guns from the front they deserve to die anyway. And people trying to use early jets because it's just a heli doesn't count (andI say that because I use early jets with Ru and Ger and helis kill me all the time).
Edit: No idea in sim tough, never played sim mode.
@@collander7766 vikhrs are easy to dodge and Mavericks can hit KA-50s from outside the range of vikhrs anyway
This takes the most skill out of anything in war thunder, trust me it’s almost good though.

1- Call in your Homies
2- Regroup like you're a ready to bomb the Shokaku
3- Dive with all your might
4- Drop bombs/Rockets/Missiles/Cannons/Snail/Ho-ro shells/ Landing Gear
5- if that doesn't work
6- Kamikaze
they been doing this for so long with that missiles its so annoying, you have to steer the AA missile above the heli and then down

There's a vey easy counter to the counter. Even though you're radar locked onto the helicopter, you still control the SPAA missile. Aim to the left/right/over/under when you see the Zuni spam, then slew the missile back into the helicopter.
Ignore the fact that even a direct hit on a KA-50/52 will let it fly for another minute or so doing kills using it's magic missile lock-on.
Nothing magic about their lock-on at all. In general FCS is severely underrepresented in capability in game. And be glad the British Apache can't bring Brimestone's to play with. Then it wouldn't even need to see you to kill you.

Hey Phly, you gotta try flying with manual roll control engaged. You should also check out the old heli's, the launching off the rail update totally borked the aim of the rockets.
In top tier air RB I use my R-60Ms to shoot down sparrows that are coming at me. It’s worked 4 times so far. And it’s so funny.

The only real use for the Type 93 is for taking out Russian helis. No missile warning and it arcs down and doesn’t have a proxy fuse to be detonated.

I have hit a KA-50/52 directly with Mavericks and had them shrug it off and proceed to kill me. On multiple occasions. Mavericks have the equivalent explosive mass of a 250 lb bomb… right to the cockpit… Wow I hate Russian helis

You don't need sniper to lock target, just bind a key to sight stabilisation and point that direction where you want the lock and push the key.

STORMER: My Time Has Come!
No seriously the Stormer performs insanely well now out to 9km. So it's outranged by the Hellfire equivalents, BUT it provides ZERO radar warning, no laser warning until launch, very little lead and has NO PROXY FUSE! Tier 3 Thermals with high zoom make it a spotting monster for getting airspawn points too! It sits at 10.3 these days.
Pretty sure that thumbnail would make for an interesting T-shirt design.

This strat. was originally used against the KAs in arcade. It was never as effective as the KA's use of them for some reason. Good to know the KAs are more broken now.

I mean, to fuck with the non-missile bearing AA, instead of carrying standard or mixed countermeasures, just carry chaff and then set your countermeasure auto-deploy off.
You detect a missile, your countermeasures will not go off, and your missiles will counter. If you get locked by radar, manually deploy chaff. That should keep at least the "stupid" ones off your tail for a short period, i.e. the people who honest to god can't shoot anything without a radar lock.
I can try that and see if I have a longer lifespan.

Attempt 268(I think): please take the crusader mk.3 to 5.3, the heavy solid shot teabag mk.9 can go through the UFP of tigers at 100 meters, also the hurricane mk.IV with 4 RP-3s and a 16.8 second turn time it is quite easy to uptier
