For anyone planning to visit the prices are STUPID EXPENSIVE!! The 8oz rib eye featured on this peice is $69 served with nothing so with sides (salad & brocolini add $35) + a non-alcoholic drink with tax & tip you are looking at $150 for 1 person. The "party" steak 32oz is $175. I understand overhead costs but when did Americans get so dumb to pay these outrageous prices. I conclude that is why we are a nation of personal indebtedness!!

I do agree when compared with the cost of the same type of meal elsewhere in the world but when compared to going rates in the United States that’s about what you pay for it especially in a city with expensive real estate.

@michaelgodard3998 SMFH at your comments. If you look around in any major city for a true "local" place (Steakhouse etc) you can find quality at a reasonable price. El Che is obviously a tourist trap and for the rich (who don't care). Why CBS featured them baffles me. BTW if you ever go to Argentina (Manion's inspiration) they food quality is better at a fraction of the price and yes I am talking about the high end.

@@algernon5776most restaurants are just marketing and hype. Didn’t look like anything super special.

@pricetagcitrus I disagree their superior restaurants like Marco Pierre White in London or Rick Bayless in Chicago or Keens Steakhouse in New York City. Obviously all of this subject to one s taste buds but the restaurants I mentioned are too notch quality. I understand it costs alot to run a business but $18 for a Wedge salad or $15 for bread service or $100 for a single steak. My point was El Che is taking advantage of their own customers and it seems they can lol. I just don't think their pricing was reasonable or fair and sharply think the restaurant owners like Manion are getting rich off consumer stupidity.

Went there with a party of 8 in August. We had the Party steak, a whole grilled fish, 3 salads, 4 appetizers and a giant dessert. It was plenty of food for all of us, leftover steak and fish, and was approx $65 per person for a fabulous night out, prime meat, plenty to eat and exceptional service. I go once a year for dinner with out of town friends who look forward to El Che every year.

What’s interesting is this style of cooking was brought to South America by the Spanish/Portuguese. Reminds me of Basque Country in particular.

That initial shot, all the flames were vertical. Would like to know and see the exhaust system inside and out.

Yeah didn’t seem like anything special. You can get ribeye anywhere. And when someone says it melts in your mouth they know nothing about meats.
