You're REALLY missing the point with the neutral special. It functions like a grab, so nothing happens if you don't actually hit someone with it. I've noticed this happens with a lot of special moves in other videos like this. So many have unique properties (being a grab, only activating when someone is near, behaving differently in midair, charging, etc). If you ever redo these videos, don't forget to show these off.
