  • Shorebirds are a fascinating group and can be challenging to tell apart. Birding expert, guide, and author Jon Dunn and 15-year-old college student and aspiring ornithologist Lara Tseng discuss the identification and biology of shorebirds, focusing on the Calidris sandpipers that can be found on the West Coast, such as Western and Least Sandpipers and Lara's favorite bird, the Dunlin.
