This looks like a wonderful option for kids who are fans of these books. Another method I've used when we've finished one subject, but still have hours to fill, is to spend a little longer on each of the other subjects, so that they finish more quickly. Then, if everything is done, but there are still hours to fill, fill those hours with fun options like field trips, documentaries, student-led interests, and educational video games

My daughter loves these courses. Jonathan Rogers is an excellent teacher.

I plan to try structure and style next year. Im thinking we will go slowly with it. We are also using The Good and the Beautiful language arts which is only 120 lessons. I hope to work on writing skills more.

What about the intro to public speaking from IEW? I think it’s only about 12 weeks. Might be an option!

What is the difference between structure and style and the other IEW curricula? Thank you! Your children sound so sweet! I am homeschooling my 12 year old granddaughter. ❤

I'm thinking of starting this in 4th grade 😬! It's very different from what we are currently using for language arts. It has me a bit nervous, but your videos are giving me the push.

My son (10) is also obsessed with narnia, Wingfeather and lord of the rings. Is there any other series or books your son loves like those? It’s hard to keep up with a child that just devours books!

One idea is the Mistmantle Chronicles, they’ve just been put back into print by Purple House Press. I never read Redwall books, but my husband says they are similar but Mistmantle is better and more Christian.
Has he read any George Macdonald? They are a fantastical style, mythopoeic is the word CS Lewis used I think - the Princess and the Goblin, The Light Princess, The Wise Woman, The Back of the North Wind.

Did you think of starting this school year finishing Narnia and then going to Structure and Style to finish the year? I'm curious.
