I NEED HELP!! I have a old zenith radio the model is H-500. I power on the radio and the AM band receives like crazy but the other shortwave bands have almost absolutely nothing. I have heard a couple weak signals but that’s it and the volume is very low on the shortwave bands. Anybody have any ideas. Something I have noticed is the the tubes in it do glow but they don’t get hot I don’t know if that’s normal or not. So please someone give me any ideas or something.
You have a new subscriber, I work pretty much all the time on TX/ RX stuff for FM & DAB+ and repairing everything myself. Great channel you have. Greetings from Belgium.
How old is it? Does it have vacuum tubes? Does it have a two-prong AC power plug? Brand and model numbers help, too. There are a number of possible causes for getting shocked, hard to diagnose in comments. Look for one of the D-Lab videos where Terry talks about "live chassis", that may be related. Stay safe, electricity can hurt or kill you if you don't know what you're doing.
