Visit to the Wake of Former President Corazon C. Aquino

Straight from her arrival from the United States, President Arroyo and some members of her Cabinet went directly to Manila Cathedral to pay their last respects to former President Corazon Aquino before the scheduled burial today (Wednesday) at the Manila Memorial Park.
President Arroyo cut short her US trip to be able to visit the wake of the former leader. She was politely received by Sen. Benigno Noynoy Aquino III and stayed on for at least 10 minutes to offer a short prayer and also view the remains of the nations peace advocate and icon of democracy.
Cory Aquino led the nation in a peaceful EDSA People Power revolution in 1986 and ended the regime of Ferdinand Marcos. She died early morning of August 1 at the Makati Medical Center from cardio respiratory arrest, complications brought about by her advanced colon cancer.

It is morally right for the president to visit at the wake of the former president whether or not both are adversaries. Politics is different from respect of the dead. we may castigate gloria with those none sweet words but what she did was right. Gloria, just do your job, at least we are weathering the world financial turmoil with you.
