Nick's right hand man, Vasilis works hard building great engines. This time, it's his own LS1 on the dyno... and he's going to see what it makes with a shot of nitrous oxide.

I love the way nick is so humble and respectful, and doesn't talk crap.
Sheriden Boord - Trash talking, big egos and shop horse play / pranks are a very disappointing thing about a lot TV automotive shows. I though Ed China and the guy with the quality shop in New York were very good. The various guys on TV that build things that look like expensive low riders with oversized wheels are hard to watch. Everything is "badass and cool" in their minds
Now that's a burn out, nice
He is this kids boss and is doing everything he can to help him and teach him, and probably wants nothing in return...that's the way it is supposed to be and you sir are awesome...glad I found your channel...superb gentleman
I just had the same thought- really great guy.
hes an investment treat your investments good they stick around treat them like crap they end up like chip foose and boyd coddington

Nick really is a great guy. This kid is on top of the world because of his influence .
This has a powerful message way beyond N2o. Probably the coolest boss in history not to mention a level of respect this world needs more of.
whtats the point of putting nos in a engine? wanna be qualified in some race event???
Good kid. Man we need more like him with more mentors like Nick.
Tell the government to put some effort into keeping these trades alive instead of allowing technology to create disposable replacements, destroying more 'skilled' industrys every year. At least that's how it is in Australia & we are obsessed with copying America so I assume its similar there.
@@bluespig1 Maybe we can get the Government to wipe our ass also.
@@bluespig1 very true my younger brother is 16 he is in High school and wants to go to Shop class but his school don't have a shop class but I know someone that owns a few shops he's willing to let my brother train in his shop and pay him I got my other little brother his first job at 14 working as a Farm Hand he's a manager graduated from high school he's doing awesome gotta teach em young my son is 2 1/2 he loves riding ATVs and working on them already lol
Still love to see a young man and an older guy get excited together about the same thing!! It remind me of my self and my father and every one I have ever helped do the same thing!!
I hope it never goes to TV it's much too good for that.
Nick's is the real Underground Garage.
Yeeeeaaaaaa!
TV (networks) suck nowadays. I like the old school, not the stuff you see now.
There isnt any drama or fighting that is required to entertain america. And i dont think these guys would ever sell out in that way. The lack of drama is why this show is special.
@Mike Sienicki screw tv
That kid is very lucky.
40 years ago, at age 18, I working at Pontiac Pete's shop in Brooklyn.
I had the 68 LeMans about 6 months and just got the M/T 421.
I was ripping out the 389 and prepping the engine compartment when Pete came by.
With his help I had the 389 out and the 421 in one Sunday afternoon.
From that day on Pete was the angel on my shoulder.
Your are great mentor.
The way of the muscle car will never die.
Tommy
Badass!
mentorship and apprenticeship, so rare now. if one is not hunting for it, of course
I have that apprenticeship with my culinary teacher. 50 years of cooking experience. I can cook anything now
@@Dewitt-b8n - It is amazing what those masters can leave with an apprentice for life!
@@carlcampbell6827 Its a gift. And i got paid to learn. I should had skipped Culinary School and saved the money.
gotta love a guy that takes younger people under his wing, long live muscle !
my hats off to you Nick 😎
Vasilli is a hard working young man, God willing he will be around to continue the legacy of Nick's Garage for many years to come.
To hell with god and his will, we all make our own choices in life!
you stay on nicks elbow and learn that trade, equal to him,a million dollar education, and all you gotta do is sweat, hang in there kid,the learning is in the doing,NICK, good job waking up that young mind
Great relationship of respect between these two men. Nick is bringing this young man along nicely.
Nick, your an awesome guy.
Thanks for helping your mechanic and teaching him right way to do things.
Much respect sir!
What a cool day, it's so nice to have the younger guys with the same passion as you have Nick.
Your really lucky to have these guys on your team.
What a great shop
Nick and Vasilis , thanks for sharing your video, I love the Garage series you do Nick and watching Vasillis work with you makes me smile and remember my times growing up in my Dad's shop and laer working for another gentleman who also mentored me much after my father passed. Watch and learn all you can Vasillis, money cannot buy the time and patience a great teacher gives, and above all give respect, for you are very lucky to train under an Ace mechanic like Nick. Keep up the great work and thanks again for sharing it all with us!!!
I absolutely love how nick helps his coworkers as much as he helps his customers, if not more. You only get what you put in, and it shows his young padwan is worth his weight in gold. Good job guys, i have a 91 rs, hopefully i can ls swap after basic. Ya'll give me the inspiration i need.

This man is good hearted and is still a little boy inside... He still loves it so much. Kudo to this man.
so much respect to this guy on teaching apprentices the right and wrong ways. I am a 21 year old Diesel engine builder apprentice so i can relate
We've all been there! The anticipation, The anxiety, The excitement, The adrenaline rush. But most importantly.....
The VICTORY!!!!!!
Great video.....
What a great Boss, taking time to teach his apprentice and enjoy the moment with him!! Nick is the best!
How could anyone dislike this young man. He has an infectious personality.
INFECTIOUS. spread that disease, please.
As a former bottle baby I have some advice for those that want to run NOS so you can learn from my mistakes. There are several things you can do to keep you from scattering your motor (and your wallet). First install a wide open throttle switch. That way if you forget to let up on the NOS button when something goes wrong your motor doesn't keep revving when you let up on the throttle. I buzzed a 440 to around 9 grand from this mistake and melted a piston. Second install a low fuel pressure cut off switch so if you lose fuel pressure the motor doesn't lean out a cook the motor. Third for any kit over 100 HP I strongly suggest a dedicated fuel system just fur the NOS system. If the kit is over 150 it is almost mandatory from my experience. The only thing this system should share with the normal fuel system is the gas tank. Separate pick up, fuel lines, pump and pressure regulator. For any kit over 100 hp forged pistons and increased ring gap is a good idea also. NOS greatly increases the cylinder temp and the rings expand more and cause the piston to separate from the first compression ring locking up.
Micheal Wilkening - Do you think NOS kit installations are on the way out, becoming obsolete? Honestly who can afford to risk catastrophic failure on a high quality motor?
@@carlcampbell6827 It's a valid question considering that a stock hellcat with an undersized supercharger pulley and a custom tune will put out 800 rwhp reliably on pump gas. A lot of people installed NOX "quickie" kits with 2 solenoids mounted in a plate under the carb for 150+hp and cracked a stock cast piston. Especially if they went too lean on boost.
Yes, you are referring to a wet shot. The old plate style fogger systems work but were catastrophic if fuel ran lean resulting in broken pistons. The wet shot setups resolved a lot of those issues and are much safer at higher NOS doses
Wet kits are where it’s at. Old foggier set ups are blah
What a great guy Nick is being there to help him, So many bosses wouldnt care & this one goes out of his way to help.
How is it possible that no matter if I go forward or backward in time Nicks Garage videos remain strictly & frighteningly awesome.
Yeah eh, the look from Vassily at 21:42 when him and Nick know it can take more Nitrous
Epic creation of rubber crumbs , smoke , noise and smiles at the end.
Nothing is better than being able to teach someone the knowledge that is willing to work hard and retain it.
It's refreshing to see somebody tightening lugs properly.
Thanks for mentoring him Nick. That’s how hot rodding lives on in the next generation!
You have a great friend and mentor there. Do everything you can to listen to what Nick is teaching you, some day it will pay off but most of all you will have those fond memories for life!
That young guy V , is going to get far in life. I admire his attitude , working very hard and trying to learn all he can from Nick . That’s unfortunately rare in young today . Nick , a great teacher . V is in the best place to be !
Ervin Goertzen. Ervin, I will tell him, Thanks.
Nick is the real humble guy still enjoying power and passing the torch. Great guy.
I applaud your engine work - big block torque and HP from the mighty LS1, as well as having the faith in your own work to put it all on the line in front of those closest to you. Ive seen a lot of burnouts and you'd have to go to a drag strip to equal that one - WELL DONE-!!
Old drag racer that gave up after having first child with disability. I loved watching the two of them working to get the power out 70 years old but you made a smile on my face. SOME TIMES IN LIFE YOU SEE PEOPLE YOU WILL NEVER MEET I ASK GODS BLESSINGS ON NICK HE HAS THAT SOMETHING SPECIAL PEOPLE LOOK FOR IN A FRIEND.
Nick and Vasili, you are awesome! Like your passion and love for those engines and your cheaky smile after nailing the 700hp. Always enjoying your great work and the interesting and moving stories around the engines and cars. All the best for you and your families. Yours Ulf.
Had a 77 T/A 400 4spd with a 200 shot back in 84. What a car, it looked bone stock until you got on it. Go Vasily Go! Thank You Nick for all your videos. It reminds me of the old days!
this guy is good, pulls out the engine and doesn’t take the hood off. this guy is good.
Nick did good showing up on any day of the week. especially for his apprentice.
Vasilis (cool name!), you have the most important and rare ingredient found in any success story. WORK ETHIC! If you ever decide to leave Nick's don't waste time building a resume. Just hand them a copy of this video! Nick, calling you a great boss would be a gross understatement. You have a new subscriber. Thank you!
the best part is nicks taking the journeyman roll serious and passing on what he knows to Vasily which is priceless you can see the pride in nicks Expression when he talks about Vasily this is hard to find these days i enjoy this you tube channel a lot keep it up

Don't know why but I am very happy for the guy. I was smiling like a possom eating shit.
Robert Hills Jr thats right like an opossum eating sawbriars.
i never seen a possum smile, they play dead and hiss...
Is it wrong that it brought tears to my eyes? Reminds me of days past with some special friends. The look in the young apprentices eye after he sees the results tells the story, way to go. NO TIRE LEFT + POLE OF MOLTEN RUBBER = PERFECT BURNOUT 👍👍👍
Made in Canada.Impressive. Talent.Tutoring. Most important-a work ethic, equals success.
Love that music George, takes ya right back to the 50's-60's!
Love ALL the videos, but this might just be my favorite just because of how much fun you guys had. Awesome! I had a smile on my face the whole time you were testing.
I was as happy as Vasili was, FOR him. Nick, you are an awesome guy, and being part of his project like that when you dont have to says volumes about you. Over a 20 yr career in auto repair I finally walked away from it broken and so disgusted that I didnt even change my own oil for 5 years afterwards. Shop owners and managers that couldnt care 1 cent about employees ruined something I once loved as much as you guys.
First engine I've ever seen come out with the hood still on. 😁
Don Rutter
That’s how I do it, I never take the hood off.
Lol they must be in Quebec lol 😂
Don Rutter I never took the hood off of a customers car when I was a mechanic the only thing I ever removed the hood on was my race car cause I would only have one day to pull it out rebuild it and put it back in and get down to the track to run again so removing the hood saved a bit of time cause it’s nice to get a few hours of sleep before dragging till 2-3am on Sunday morning when you got to the track at 11am on Saturday and then driving sometime 4-5 hours home depending on wear we were racing at the next day we raced 3-4 days a week but that was a huge part of our income back then the first place purse in pro was $3-10k on a regular old Saturday night at the National’s pro payed $250k first place so when your racing for that kind of money time is money so things have to get done quick
Wow! What an honor it must be to have an old expert like Nick take you under his wing. I would love to work in Nick's shop and be taught by him. Awesome!
That is one hard workin’ dude! Respect for the hustle. Nick seems like a pretty cool boss to work for; as long as he pays attention Vassily won’t have any excuses for not being a master technician, especially on the old iron!
For nitrous, I mounted a $1.00 microswitch on the carb flange with scrap sheet metal. That way the nitrous and water only hit at full throttle. Similar setup on the brake pedal when released. It worked great for bracket racing and was super consistent. Our cars were crazy on our 60ft times even as weather changed, this is Oklahoma after all. I hope this helps some one.
Take care from Oklahoma,
Mike and Vee
Mike Brooka. Thanks for the input Mike. And, thanks for watching.
Nick Panaritis Thank you for sharing your garage and stories. It makes me miss the long days and nights of racing. Vee even gets a bit randy when I come home smelling like a shop (best woman ever!). Keep on keeping on,
Mike and Vee
Nick, I don't know why you don't have more subscribers. This is one of the better channels on the Tube.
Good times! So cool to see a young man work so hard to reap the benefits of his labors! Great video happy for this young man!
I was laughing when the blue duster was rolling out with that beautiful sound and the wife asked what I was looking at. Hahaha.
These guys are awesome. Even Nick is still giddy over horsepower after all these years. Big kids having fun
I have seen this episode before but, It never gets old & I am a Chevrolet fan at heart! To see that Camaro with a L.S. engine makes me smile! I would rather see a 1973 sb 400 w/4.125 stroke, bored .030 over to a 406 & then use a stroker kit, circle track cam/summit offroad, aftermarket aluminum heads 202/160, 373 gears, That's what my brother had in his 79 Z-28 & it ran like a CHAMP!!!
you take a Chevy SB 400 and boar it 30 and stroke to 4.125 you get about 434cid, but the Chevy 400 block is weak, you need a Dart block
I wish I could give this 100,000,000 likes. Two guys from two different, countries, generations and cultures come together make magic together. ONLY IN AMERICA!!! Congrats my friends.
This was a good one. You could feel his excitement right through the screen. LOL
Much respect to you all. Love what you're doing, and I appreciate you sharing with us all on your awesome channel!!!!
I just ran across this video on accident, I really enjoyed the video. There is nothing more fun than working on an engine that is worth putting time into, and having a nice place and great equipment to work with. Good clean fun and what an awesome way to learn new stuff. I have built a few older generation Chevy Small blocks and one big block, I have never worked in a LS motor but am looking forward to putting one together someday soon. Good luck and may you all have continued success at Nick’s garage!
I really thought they were going to try again with a 250 shot but common sense prevailed..

I was Nick's customer when his garage was downtown before he moved to the suburb. In an old 1920's building, he was performing everyday car repairs on VW and Toyota for his upper-middle-class neighbors. Nick repairs cars he doesn't only change parts as dealership does. But between brand new tiny cars, it was some muscle cars mostly Chrysler products for the glorious time. Some so shiny, others completely stripped, at the beginning of a renovation project. My father worked for 30 years in Dodge Chrysler dealerships, so it was a little bit my childhood. It was never dull to wait for my car. I would like to stay there for a day, maybe a week or a month. I was fascinated by his stainless steel workbench, so long, so clean with on the wall so curious measuring instrument for timing engine during rebuilding. Often there were engines on a bench or on wheels. Nick always explained to me his project, I had also a visit to his dyno, built in an old paint booth.
Nick is a soft speaking person as he is on screen, he speaks Greek, English, and French. He has the talent to choose apprentice. I remembered one who was working like a surgeon.
His brother operated an auto parts store, the best service, and price in town. I never had a defect or a wrong part, there is a genius in the foreign cars and domestic one. Next of the cash register, there are photos taken with the family's racing car in competition.
I think 10w/30 is running through Nick’s veins. Probably his brother too. It seems those boys were born to wrench on cars and engines. Good luck and god bless you Nick and family.
By havein employed people I can tell just watching the feller really respects the old man

That was awesome. The joy on his face is priceless!! Way to go young man!
Way too many Haters and Know it Alls putting your 2 cents in just hoping someone to share your misery with...Just Shut Up Already and Enjoy the video for what it was and what it is !!!We just watched the Magic , the Enthusiasm and Excitement that makes us all pull those all niters cause were so eager to get it finished to see and feel the results of what WE just did with our own two hands...Couldn't tell ya how many times that I heard my valvetrain playing Taps under my valvecovers in my Ls... There ain't nothin wrong with that engine , and for the fact alone that people that said he trashed or hurt that engine , doesn't know a damn thing about engines...At least LSs'...Your gonna have to do a lot more than that to hurt an LS...Keep up the good work guys , love the videos and that was some impressive H.p. & Tq. Numbers with and without the spray... Keep up the good work guys...
Spoken like someone who has spent a few late nights turning wrenches and making power. Thanks for watching and sharing the passion that we see in this young mechanic.
Some of the fastest fox bodies that race at Darlington dragway in SC are junkyard 5.3s with a big single turbo or twins. Some hate to see a Ford with an LS swap but alot of guys do it. As long as they don't screw the turbo system or the car, they don't really care how hard they run them because they can swap and wire up another cheap 5.3 from a junk yard if they blow it up. Though, alot of local turbo LS cars have some awesome builds but are still running a stock bottom end. They are damn quick cars. Its the cheapest big power builds I see and hear about. My Trans Am will remain on nitrous, it's hard enough to change the spark plugs with normal long tubes.
mfkn right!
Vasalis you should cherish every minute you are in nicks shop ,a lifetime of knowledge !
those ls motors have 6 bolt mains, they love boost and make massive power and are strong as hercules....guys are throwing blowers or ebay turbo kits
