Just want to point out that the "lag" on distant, animated characters/mobs/objects is a resource-preserving tactic. It lets them really emphasis the foreground and the player character space by sacrificing those further away. The Switch is not a super-powerful system, so things like this should be expected.
Anyway, I seriously loved this game. The colors, music, and that pink hero just screams 'Relax, Have Fun, Laugh'.

It’s also a terrible distracting and immersion ruining approach to game design. If you can’t make the game run at a consistent visual and performance standpoint, with A. Scale back the graphics a bit since we don’t really care to see the pores on every skin texture or B. Design the level around your limitations so the player doesn’t see it, you know, art through adversity.

I also had my fear for the Gacha collectibles but since I got extra coins for playing on Wild mode and never needed items, I had enough money to burn.

From my personal experience I think the figurines aren’t quite 100% RNG. I’ve 100% completed the game twice now (once solo and once co-op) and very rarely did I not get the figures I needed within 5 tries, which based on the maths would be ridiculously lucky. I think the game must automatically increase the odds somewhat for figures that you don’t have so that you’re not endlessly grinding for those last few.
Either way this game is easily my personal game of the year and I don’t care what anyone else says. And we’re only in April.

I've seen speedrunners say that's exactly the case. Game increases chances of a new figurine with each failure at the gacha. On average every 3 spins should net you figurines, which gave a pretty good estimate of how much money you farm while fishing in the 100% category

Me and my wife have been playing this game, I love how fast paste it its but also simple enough for her to follow and get good at (she isnt that good at games). I honestly think its a better 2 player game than mario 3d world as the platforming is simple and no one is drastically faster and the fantastic goofy world. Kirby over the years has turned slowly into better franchise and the jump to true 3d is fantastic and keeps the classic mechanics of the game!

I had an absolute blast getting 100% on this game. I'm fairly confident the Gotcha machines aren't true RNG because I didn't have any trouble at all filling out the whole collection. I will say though that there were one or two pieces of Leon's soul that felt like the game developers trolling me, putting it in locations immediately after the "retry" star, and the like. But aside from that one section of the game the whole thing was smooth sailing. You don't even have to get the target time for all of the treasure road challenges to trigger 100% which I appreciate because clearly the goal of the game as a whole was to make you enjoy the game, not to be frustrated. Playing this game was like eating my favorite flavor of ice cream, just an absolute comfort. Even if it's not especially long, I can easily see myself coming back to this game if I'm ever in a place in my life when I need a happy place with which to escape.
And of course the soundtrack is an absolute killer. There's a track titled, "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit" which I think is hilariously in contrast with the kid-friendly aesthetic. End of the game just turns into Final Fantasy and I love it. I read up on Kirby lore in preparation for this game, and I was not disappointed.

I can at least argue for Crash to be an ability because it's an easy way to complete the time requirements for bosses.

When I was grinding them, I was getting a new figure about half the time even after I had most of them, so it definitely favors new figures. It’s really appreciated how they made sure the process wouldn’t be too painful. I also didn’t actually use Trader Waddle Dee at all, since getting a rare stone took more time than just grinding the fishing minigame for coins, which I found to be the fastest way to grind for them, as you can get a gold fish every couple minutes, and that gives you a buttload of coins
