Mama Cat Adopts 4 Orphaned Baby Squirrels

- Pusha the cat had just given birth to her own four kittens at the park in Bakhchisaray, Crimea, where she lives when her human friends asked for her help. Four baby squirrels had lost their own mother and needed someone to care for them. With the help of the humans, the baby squirrels got over their fear of their new mom, and Pusha now nurses, bathes and plays with them alongside her own kittens. The big happy family proves that a mother's love knows no bounds, even across different species. #InsideEdition

Baby squirrels have no fear of humans when they're that young. I rescued one last summer actually he rescued me. I would do it again in a second but it's not easy and certainly not for everyone. I will never forget my little Roshi and I will love him forever. # squirrelmom
My sister rescued a baby squirrel back in our teen age years. She got up every 2 hours to feed him. After Bushy Tail got full grown, my parents let him go and then told her they don't know what happened to him or how he got out.

It's been proven over and over, all animals have the capacity to love other different animals. It's a wonderful, miraculous thing to see. Pusha is beautiful. I love her and all animals!

The cat recognized the cow as it mother and the cow recognized the cat as it’s daughter. The cow must have cared for the abandoned kitten at some point. At least that is what they assumed was happening.

Let us keep in mind that this was possible only because she had just become a mother herself so she had all her motherly instincts activated. Normally, cats would chase and possibly kill squirrels, especially babies.

No they don’t they simply can allocate more time and reserve more of their brain activity to deal with “animal” things that we humans don’t have the luxury of considering, being the more complex of the two species. If animals had to wake up, go to work, be married, cook dinner, workout regularly, pay bills and raise kids, etc., then I doubt they’d be as seemingly “loving and caring” as your comment implies 😉

My cat did this for a litter of puppies that my mother's dog had a few years ago. She basically became their babysitter.
Sadly we lost the puppies and their mother to a bad case of Parvo. The puppies were too young to get their shots at the time, and we weren't aware that you had to take your dog for annual booster shots to prevent the disease.
As a PSA, please, please keep your dogs updated on the vaccine and boosters for Parvo, it was a horrific and heartbreaking time for us, and I don't want anyone to go through what we did.

I had a mother cat that adopted two baby grey squirrels,they remained for many years , they would climb in my bedroom window and sleep in my bed , it was a wonderful experience for a little boy
