  • We are finally on our way north after 5 glorious weeks in Airlie Beach. Josh welcomes aboard his long time best mate, Jack to join us as we make passage from Airlie to Townsville over the next 10 days. Jack has as much sailing experience as us when we bought the boat (bugger all), so we run him through the basics and try out a few different sail configurations while we have the extra hand!

    That fair maiden bit was hilarious! Phoebe has such beautiful hair, and those electric blue eyes are mesmerizing. Josh, you're a luck man mate!
    You both seem to be getting along quite well with your boat. Learning quickly what the vessel can, and can't do! Good on ya!

      Hey Jim, Phoebe here! Thank you for the compliments 🥰 We’re certainly learning more about Innerbloom in every passage - and it definitely helps having an extra set of hands aboard so we can afford the mental space to actually learn rather than just trying desperately to sail relatively well and survive 😂 It’s all a journey and we’re loving every second, cheers!

We think either someone was spam reporting that video or YT removed comments because there was a child in it. Regardless though we’re happy we have it back 😍 Thanks, Steve! Phoebs

    Your batten pockets in the mainsail should have a flap inside the leach end of the pocket. The end of the batten goes under this flap to stop it coming out. Put your finger in the end of an empty batten pocket to see if you can feel the flap edge. Hope this makes sense!

    Love your videos! High quality, funny, interesting. We did a similar trip 20 years agos and it was hard enough learning to sail and survive on the water so I for one appreciate the effort you put in to making your adventures available to us arm chair dreamer cruisers. Maybe on day we will get out there again, until then I am happy to live vicariously through your adventures.

    Cool episode guys. I'm a week behind. Hey Josh, can you alter that headsail halyard to pull it from one side before finishing on the winch?. Standing where you are at 13 minutes you'll get flogged by the clew and sheets. Spanking your arse is fine, but be careful of face and eyes

    Always love it when your vids drop, thanks for another great one, so nice to see you learning and enjoying sailing.....
    There was a time in the 1990's when people thought sailing would die, that old farts lime me would be the last generation to want sail boats and no one in your generation or the following ones would ever sail, I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. so thank you for proving them wrong and proving that sailing is as relevant now as ever 👍👍👍

    Hi guys, to stop the prop from turning and causing extra wear on the cutlass bearing before shutting the engine off select reverse, then turn the engine off. Remember to select neutral before starting again and only do this when actually sailing.
    The alternative is installing a folding or feathering propeller.

We fought alot when sailing as seems I could do nothing right. But the adventure and water freedom was invigorating and endlessly magical! Phoebe...I thought you would just be another stuck up lazy boat b*tch offering nothing but t*ts and a*rse... but damn girl... you are fkn funny, smart, sassy, witty and such a go getter! Hey Jenelle! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm so sad to hear that things didn't work out for you on your own sailing adventure, it is honestly so much harder than people would expect. It can bring out the best, or the worst in relationships. The exhaustion and miscommunication can be so straining on a couple. And as a woman, especially if we don't have trade skills or the practical knowledge required for sailing, it can make things really uncomfortable. I'm fortunate that Josh is really patient with me and allows me to learn in my own way so that I can be the best first mate I can be - with what little practical skills I have. But he also acknowledges that as a woman I have vital qualities to bring to the adventure that the masculine doesn't. We both have our roles 💜 I'm honoured that you're finding joy in our story and videos and hope we continue to uplift you on this journey! Thank you for the kind words, all my love, Phoebe x

    On windgenerators: They are expensive, quite loud and do not perform downwind. You might consider a hydrogenerator. Also expensive though.

  • @TheGrottieYachtie
    @TheGrottieYachtie 3 місяці тому

    Glad you enjoyed Airlie - a great place to hang out for a while. Looking forward to your videos of further north - that's where the crowds thin out, the wind picks up a bit and land based anchorages get further apart, but in return you are rewarded with some great spots and more serenity. Battens sound fine - you just need to keep them seated in the pockets, sometimes there is a strap and buckle on the leach end and the batten has a slot in it for the strap to go through, but stick to what you have - it has obviously worked for a fair while! Be aware if they do pop out and start to work free they will flick out very quickly with any sail flapping, carry a few spares!

    1st woo hoo. Love your videos. When your fold a boat starts sinking over and over again than you could call it Sinkey like Sailing Zingaro did. You should change your name to New Kids Off The Dock because you untied your lines. You need to get rolling furling for your jib. I thought you were on the West Coast. This must be old footage.

      Hey Robert! Certainly could call it our folding water maker because it’s always making water 😅 I said that to Phoebe once but we came to decide that for it to stick we couldn’t remove to too far from the source, plus we will have to be on the dock at some point 😁 a furler is on the wish list big time mate! Hey mate, I’m a bit confused because you couldn’t see tits nor ass in the vid, it was heavily blurred! You saw less than if I was just getting around in my bikini, which I don’t do much of if you’ve seen any of our other videos 😁 But regardless it’s got nothing to do with not having faith in our content…we’re just young people in our 20’s, in sunny Queensland, living our dreams on a sailboat and often if not all the time naked. For a lot of people that don’t get the opportunity to do that or don’t live in climates or environments that allow that freedom, it can be really nice for them to vicariously live through us and imagine they too are lying on a rock in the warm sun naked eating strawberries. We’re not going to change the way we are already living just because we do YT - we’re going to make YT revolve around us rather than the other way around so we can keep our authenticity and happiness 💜

Absolutely no pornographic content, but we’re very flirtatious and cheeky by nature so there’s certainly content that reflects that 😁 Our content on patreon is very personal: what we get up to on a daily basis, the flirty between takes, the more intimate moments that you’d assume a couple in their 20’s sailing together would have.
