In the past Fields would run the ball to save his own life and career. The Bears OL was really bad and so was the DL. Let's leave the Bears in the past. Stop throwing shade. Build your your QB UP. I WAS A Bear fan but left with Fields to be a Steelers fan. You have a great QB in Fields.
I'm gon say this not to berate you but you need to to do a deeper dive as to just how bad the Chicago Bears were for 2 1/2 of the 3seasons that he was there. Justin Fields ran so much because of 2reasons 1)Consistent bad O-line play 2) Terrible Play Calling and Design by Luke Getsy and Matt Nagy I've watched all of his games in Chicago and he's always been able to do this just had bad coaching. Look at his Bears Vs Steelers Game when he was in Chicago, then look at his game cs. the ravens the following week and see the difference in the play calling from week to week.
Don't forget 3. Low quality receivers. Last and or bottom in separation and route running. A WR3 forced to a WR1. 4. Bad defense. All results of Chicago deciding to put a rookie (by game count) thru a rebuild.
@@bluesdirt6555 lol that's probably why, it was the QB coach to Aaron Rodgers. That guy never called or made plays, he wasn't even the reason for Aaron's MVPs lol

@@redman8767ableCan he pass with the game on the line? Can he perform under pressure? So far the answer is NO He couldn't perform for 3 years in Chicago. Given multiple opportunities he has choked virtually every time. Fumbles, INTs, sacks and 3 and outs in the 4th. More if the same in Indy.
@@ilyedtouThat doesn't matter. Remember Fields is blameless. If you blame him or quote stats, you are a "hater". At all times, excuses must be made. First it is the O line, then not enough weapons, then the defense and then the offensive coordinator. We are currently at the O line stage. 😂
On the pass play to Pickens at the 25 yard line which you said was a good but dangerous throw, with a defender close by,there was a receiver at the 30 yard line that was wide open . Field's scrambling to the left brought the LB's and safeties to that side , leaving an unobstructed path to the end zone. That would have been the better read.
I saw that too, but Fields also had pressure coming and started to leave the pocket right when the window to throw opened. He definitely could have made the throw in general, just missed the timing.
I also liked the progression we are seeing if like some of the fumbled snap issues to get fixed but it’s good to see the offense actually moving the ball even though a little late this week but still showing some upside
Stop trying to predict and speculate everything and allow players to grow and develop from one season to the next, and you won't have to eat crow. Simple as that.
@darkshinethakid4463 ok, fine ! That's why you all are always wrong with your takes on the black and gold. Every year, you talking heads are predicting Mike Tomlin to have a losing season, or the Steelers to only win like 9 games and finish last in AFC North. Everything about us is supposed to be below the line or underachieving. So now you're wrong about Justin fields....what else is new? That's the point!
as a seahawks fan I've always believed in Justin Fields and I am glad to see him on a better team with a better *barely* o-line and a better coach and offensive coordinator, good to see him succeed instead of playing his entire career as a waste in Chicago
Steelers are 4th highest field goal attempts, top 10 most punts in league. 50% of our points are field goals. Why? Alot of things (team sport) but the lack of TDs is an issue. Game film on NFL PRo shows in each game- Fields hesitates after snap. Guys are open- but he holds the ball 1 or 2 seconds too long and misses the windows. In the game film you reference he missed #80 on two easy TD passes in the first 3 drives. That lack of spreading the ball affects our run game. All this to say, I think this is why Tomlin isn't completely sold on making him QB1 yet until he can see Russ healthy. Russ excels with decisiveness and hitting guys in stride quickly. The Steelers had a Russ/ Fields package designed up before the season. I'd like to at least still see what that is before we kick Russ out.
1st play you show J. Warren don't have a defender around him for 15-20 yards...hope he gets better vision than that whiel in Pittsburgh...or he won't b around long
@blizzard883 I get it and I understand time is limited in the pocket, but man if he could have got the ball to Warren he could have picked up a nice chunk of yards that play
If Mahomes made that sidearm pass to MT. Washington mainstream sports media and the NFL insta would be talking about it for a week straight. Fields is the Future #HereWeGo

If your day you were wrong about Fields it's because you didn't watch him play in Chicago. The bears were a terrible team with an awful o-lime and bad WR's.
Do gotta say i looked at Fields stats and he has been improving every year from year 1 to now and looks like so far he’ll improve more this year. But will it be too late by time he gets to where he needs to be cause these running QB’s only have half careers as pocket passers.
@DoctorBiobrain: it’s not old news. Mahomes is a lot bigger, that’s why McNabb was able to go as long as he did. And those two QB’s you named are not considered running QB’s. They can run and considered mobile but they’re more pocket passers.
@@letsgobrandon7297 Are you saying Mahomes is physically bigger than Justin Fields? If so, that's backwards. Fields is an inch taller and about the same weight. McNabb was the same height but heavier. And the old news is that you're even making a distinction between running QB's and pocket passers: They do both. Josh Allen rushed for 30.5 yards a game last season with 15 rushing TD's. Mahomes had 24.3 rushing yards a game. Ten years earlier Joe Flacco, Big Ben, and Phillip Rivers had 8.2, 6.2 and 4.5 rushing yards a game. Tom Brady didn't even make the top 25, so I can't see his rushing yards on the Statmuse website. Those are pocket passers. Nowadays, QB's are expected to be double threats. In the playoffs last year, Josh Allen killed us with his legs; with 74 yards rushing including a 52 yard run and a rushing TD. That's a big reason we lost that game.
Give a like to a guy who thinks two good passes, and two 5 yard runs is lighting it up? Nah. Fields is a bumb. Timely turnovers kills teams. He will never get over that. That is what he was in Chicago, that's what he will be here when he starts "letting go" just like in this game. He was outplayed by a 39 year old non mobile backup qb. Nah.

Had a stroke reading this. You should just stop talking because it’s very clear you don’t understand football. He’s letting the plays progress because he’s going through his reads and finding the open guy. The offense does not move slow either. They’re way faster than the Canada offense and the concepts they run aren’t hard and are meant to win football games. Sure Russ was never given a true look but at this point, Fields is younger, he looks good, he has grown not only from last year but even from the early weeks, and they’re winning. You simply do not know ball. This is modern football. You ride the hot hand at QB. Fields is QB1 until he loses it

But what I have seen of the Steelers, other than the chunk plays that were results of Field's being forced to scramble because of bad O-line play, the designed running plays have had little success and the predictability of what plays they run on which downs is why we are seeing slow starts and low scoring contests. A lot of it because of coaching decisions to not open up the playbook due to lack of confidence in the QB situation. Just saying maybe Wilson at the helm might instill more confidence.
