Dream of a Common Language (world premiere)
    Friday - Sunday, June 21 - 23
    Baruch Performing Arts Center (Manhattan)

This world premiere from Queer the Ballet is "one of the best" ways to celebrate gay pride this month, according to The New York Times and Untitled Magazine. Queer the Ballet was founded by Adriana Pierce -- currently the associate director/choreographer for Illinoise on Broadway -- to include LGBTQ+ voices and narratives in classical ballet. Dream of a Common Language, the Company's first evening-length ballet, is inspired by lesbian writer-activist Adrienne Rich’s 1978 poetry collection by the same name. From mountaintops to dimly lit bars, this world premiere illuminates the struggles and joys of LGBTQ+ people through history and queer dancers today.
Co-presented by Baruch Performing Arts Center & the CUNY Dance Initiative
