  • ‪@MarkWintleFishing‬ The 5th of December 2004 was a fateful day. It was the day that Ivan Marks passed away aged 68, and the day I recorded my last match win. Although I match fished on an occasional basis for a few more years I only had a handful of placings until I packed up in 2011.
The peg I drew in that Christchurch AC Xmas match was one of the most challenging I've ever drawn. Incredibly shallow, fast yet holding enough fish - dace and small chub - to make it interesting. Enjoy!

Very enjoyable description of your match win, well done and I must ask, did you return to the swim one evening to catch some of those large roach? Happy New Year Mark.

At that time the upper Stour was fishing very well, lots of dace, chub and roach including big ones so I didn't go back to the tidal Stour at that time.
