Thanks Dillon! I used to ride +15 -15, but now I ride +18 -12 for everything. It makes switch a little harder, but feels better for me when riding regular!
This is alpe d'huez in france, the lifts are shut for the season because of covid, hence the pretty empty slopes! You are allowed to hike up though, which I why I can bring my dog. He is a border collie mixed with golden retriever!
thx for hot garbage tips, was really struggling with it, counter rotation I have used, also tried to throw arms, but left knee to right elbow I need to try, did not so far .. hope my best it improves my hot garbage.. also sometimes struggled to get rewinding and landing... did you also try to do these at end of an aggressive toe side carving turn without roller, does it work?... good rollers are hard to find, and cat tracks are often dangerous (other riders or fences or cliffs
Yeah you could do them coming out of a toe side turn, it will definitely require alot more work to push the board up into the tail press so you will have to use a weight shit from the fore (nose) of your board to the aft (tail) to help with that.
So I actually find popping a little nollie helps, this makes it easy to shift from the front of your board and then push down on the tail. Its barely noticeable in the video so dont think of it like a proper nollie, but just bring a bit more attention to your front foot and see if it helps!
I'm in a real odd situation here. I really want to share your channel as you have the best tutorials on internet, but I also don't want to share so that my friends won't beat me to these techniques. What should I do 😂
Every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction, newton's 3rd law? That was what was vaguely in my head but it sounds like you have a better grasp of the physics! 😂
I had a question about something small, so I went on the slopes for the first time yesterday and I was enjoying it a lot but I dont really know what I'm doing, for going straight down the slopes should I be on my front or back foot? I love gaining as much speed as I can handle then slamming the breaks and trying to hold myself upright it helps me learn control on my board I feel haha. And dont worry I am very aware of others around me so I dont cause an accident.
50 50 weight distribution through both feet is ideal, but it will feel like you are more on the front foot just because the slope is going down. Don't worry too much about the weight over each foot just think about keeping your body perpendicular to the angle of the slope!
oh my god now I want to go back snowboarding which I have to wait for at least till the summer (hopefully at least the massive fridges will be opened by then)
I definitely will if the ski resorts here in france open up, but I'm having to hike everything at the minute, therefore I'm getting very limited riding time!

Do you have any experience with the K2 Simple Pleasures? That is my current do everything board, since I do not ride park, other than hitting small to medium jumps. I love my Simple Pleasures on powder days and it does good carving on groomers, but I feel like I want a board with a bit more bite and better carving on groomed runs. Do you think the Dancehall is enough of an upgrade over my K2 on piste to make it worth buy a secons board in the same category? Or do you have a recommendation for a purely on piste carving board? My boots are size 11 and I get a bit of toe/heal drag on my Simple Pleasures when the snow is soft. Thanks for any input you my give.
I've ridden the simple pleasures once and to be honest I would say it is a better carving board than the dancehaul. It is stiffer, has better edge hold, and I haven't looked at the specs but I wouldn't be surprised if it was wider too, therefore toe drag shouldn't be an issue! It is a more aggressive board for sure though, so if you are looking for a softer more playful board then maybe the dancehaul is for you, but the simple pleasures is a solid carving board!
Nidecker make some good carving boards, but they are more traditional carving boards in that they have a narrow waist for really quick edge changes. Therefore I've never got on well with them because I get heel and toe drag. Therefore I've found the volume shifted boards to work really well. So the dancehaul obviously, but as I said it is quite soft and playful. The ride warpig is a bit stiffer and carves great, but doesn't have camber so you dont get the same rebound out of turns. I haven't ridden it but the super pig is a warpig with camber so I would imagine it's even better. I've heard great things about the yes optimistic and would love to try that. The same goes for some korua boards, I haven't ridden them but they are worth a look, they have one called the bullitt I think...
I'm just on the insta 360 one X2, so that does a max of 30fps at 5.7k. The 5.7k is essentially 1080p once you crop in, so in this video I've upscaled it to match the 2.7k footage I shot on the gopro. Also I edited this all at 24fps so I interpreted the 360 footage to match that frame rate hence why it is slightly in slow motion. That should answer everything! 🤙
