Rob said "inhuman" without saying "Blackbolt" or "sucks" directly after... That's growth
He even gave Kamala Khan a compliment recently!
We’re all very round of robs progress 💰
I worry my boy Rob has been exposed to drugs
I wanted to upvote this comment but it has 69 likes and that’s sweet.
@@razor3535 she's a mutant now tho
I'm still a hardcore believer that the joker shouldn't have a solid backstory, it makes him more mythical like Batman if no one knows who he actually used to be or how he became the joker we all love to hate today
Yes, Batman's backstory have been a solid one for a long time. It fits the order he seeks to bring, his opposite should have at best a multiple choice one just to show his chaotic existance.
Unless the finale shows this might not have been the "real Joker" it is a bad idea.
His original backstory wasn't even that impressive. He was just some shmuck that tried to make a fortune over a caper and fell into chemicals
@@redjirachi1I definitely like this one better. And certainly better than the "3 different humans all are the joker" thing.
Nah
Joker was just a white dude who never got the chance to start his own podcast
If Daniel was the smartest man in the world, I'd hate to meet the dumbest. He sees a clown man and thinks "...But what if I made him scarier?"
Literally, was there nothing in his brain that warned him that joker may just literally kill him.
Poking the bear is what scientists can't seem to stop themselves from doing
He sounds like a bs character to me. Batman have had multiple teacher for countless fields. Having only one is absurd.
@@Raximus3000 but he isnt the only one? this dude help train his mind and nothing else. did we even watch the same video?
@@Raximus3000this isn’t his only one
Joker's dad
The Drinker
That is actually such a good joke. Personally, I think his dad may have been The Milkman, since Joker would-logically-have found and killed him first. I hope that is the case, since he can make an extremely chilling opening.
It would still take 2 or 3 years to get in the shape the bat man is not just mental hypnosis
no its the Jonkler
why so serious
its the jonkler, is he stupid?
Oh man, I can't wait for when they introduce the brother of the Joker, he should have a really menacing name, like Melvin or something like that
There a old comic theory Joker & Batman are related , Joker is Bruce's older brother . Real reason Batman never could kill him .
Love the Heath Ledger Joker reference with the line “I hated my father!” Legendary
Joker locks the door before saying "Manners maketh man" and freebird starts playing
Appreciate the reference
"Jokers maketh jokes"
I really dig the idea of a separate personality that you can consciously draw out to help you when you need it. It reminds me of a mini-documentary I watched about the personas that professional fighters call on in the ring. The average person doesn't have it in them to casually beat someone bloody into unconsciousness, sometimes fighters disassociate themselves with the person they are everyday vs the person they have to be, often accepting the nicknames or ring names as a separate person. You might not be the strongest, the fastest, the toughest mofo walking, but that guy wearing your skin when you step in the ring is, he's got this. I think they used Mike Tyson as an example, can't remember, but it was like Mike Tyson is just a man, but Iron Mike...woe be to the man who has to face Iron Mike, the baddest man on the planet.
Tony Robbins calls it "anchoring" - it works!
I'm still waiting for DC to come out and say batman is the joker the whole time
Joker is Bruce's older brother . It's a old comic theory
When Rob J. uses the redhood gang to adequately describe how the los angeles sheriff's department works Without even knowing it. LMAO
Yea police corruption is the only thing wrong with L. A lol
The joker should never have an origin, the fact we know NOTHING about him, is part of the appeal, his is almost like a force of nature, chaos made incarnate.
I’ve always said this
That shit get old tho
Every time a new origin story/ammendment (GOOD ones) comes out, it's a new way to enjoy a classic ensemble. I almost always love new origin stories.
To everyone who didn't read the book. Daniel isn't the Jokers actual father, he speaking metophrically. And even in the issue Daniel finds out that The Joker night have even tricked him in order to learn from him. And people acting upset that they made someone his dad are missing the actual details. (And well didn't read the book I guess)
I see Daniel as a god father
Duh!
Honestly the Joker needs to go back to being just a crazy guy who makes fucked up jokes (that kills a bunch of people) and commits crimes because he thinks they're funny. I'm tired of the "Super Joker" we've been having in comics for years now. He's literally just a crazy guy
I agree. And Batman has more villains that DC could make interesting stories with and yet it they always lean on The Joker.
@xDStaticDx1 Absolutely. When it comes to the main batman comci run, whens the last time we got a solid two-face story within the main story? so many classic rogues need some updating man
So basically
1.The 60 joker
2.Animated Joker
3. The Dark Knight joker
His dad must be even crazier than him!
Is the joker actually insane? I've always thought of him as more of a chaotic anarchist with an attitude problem.
@@edrozenrozen9600no. Joker wasn't initially insane. He just broke and gone insane.
Is it Kefka?
His dad.... What's next we meet Melvin Brother Of The Joker
Yeah crazier to think he could cure the joker but in fact made him worse.
I prefer this over the musical that is coming to theatres. That aside this fixed some blank spots in the Three Joker's story line.
What musical? Please don't tell me they're making a joker musical
i imagine it's just Mark Hamill singing@@dirkz.duggitz1567
@@dirkz.duggitz1567joker 2 is rumored to be a musical
I wouldn't say he trained the joker to be the joker as some are saying. I'd say he gave the Joker tools to make him better. I like this idea.
I absolutley love this. I pulled and read each of these issues. I enjoyed them. But hearing Rob explain it with his enthusiasum just fired me up so much. I will re-read them again now. I love it man. Batman the night is an all time Bats story and it ties to this perfectly. Man...got me again Rob, Thanks brother.
I absolutely love Joker stories. I love the Batman and Joker stories, man. It is always good to have something different. Something different like the villains winning or a hero dying or different things like that to build up drama and suspense and actually draw people in. However, with Joker stories, Joker actually wins if you look at it. Joker is not as simple as other villains. Other villains, they are relatively simple, and they have simple goals, such as conquering the world or the universe, killing a certain hero, or robbing a bank. Those are relatively simple goals. And with those goals, those villains will fail if the villains stop them or capture them or whatever. With Joker, yes Joker might do some wild and crazy things from time to time like killing a bunch or people with guns or joker toxin, or robbing a bank, or even poisoning the water supply, things like tha. However, despite all of those plans that Joker makes, his goal is not really to achieve any of them. Joker's only goal is to mess with Batman. Joker will only do things to get Baman's attention and draw Batman to him. Joker's only goal is to mess with Batman. Joker doesn't want money. Joker doesn't want Batman dead. Joker loves the cat and mouse game that he and Batman play. Joker's only real goal is to mess with Batman. Just like in Batman Death of the Family comics or the comics where Joker seemingly cut off the faces of the Bat-Family and he asked Batman why doesn't Batman kill him and after that he basically explains that as long as he is alive he is winning. And with everything that he does, poisoning people, killing people, stealing things, whatever, it really doesn't matter if Batman stops him and captures him and throws him in jail/prison, because as long as he gets Batman's attention and Batman is focused on him and he just gets to mess with Batman, then he is achieving his goal. So he is succeeding, which means he is winning. Joker is just getting what he wants all of that time, so really Joker wins. That is what I really like about Joker stories because they are different from other villain stories. Joker is a villain who *never* loses.
This is why I find this video and origin story to be alright in my book. Because it not only explains how Joker switches between his personas, but also erases whatever past he may have had.
Quoting CJ from GTA SA.
Oh shit, here we go again
Ya know, I always really liked how joker was pretty much a boogeyman in a way. Almost too unhuman to be human. His past being such a mystery especially in endgame. But this, this humanizes him and kills his image for me. But that’s just me.
Almost like the exact opposite of Batman
Don't let the explanation leave you out there are a lot of things being left out in these videos specifically. I would check out the book and run directly. Joker tricked Daniel. That fear was a ploy. The Future Story The Joker showed he always could have beaten Batman he was holding back. At the beginning of the last issue we saw that The Joker was physically and supernaturally split into 3 because of Batman 135, when Bruce went after Red Mask in the time paradox.
Blame the killing joke but remember he says he prefer multiple choices and remember it differently every time
@@AstraFulminoushe dif beat batman in joker war harley saved batman
The writing wasn’t too and, but The Joker does NOT need an origin! He works better mysterious .
I gotta say out of all the joker beginnings this this is a masterpiece
I never really understood what they were tryna do with the three joker but this is so much better
I have to agree, I don't hate the three jokers idea but this feels just more inline with the kind of man the Joker is the guy that can switch between three different modes the clown that who may let you off the hook if the mood strikes him. The monster that is going to take its time plucking your limbs off or making you suffer in the most sadistic way possible. Finally The Devil generally reserved for the only other man capable of surviving it.
Pimpin great video as always. Can you please do a video on Batman's information connectors? Does he have a secret organization that only works for Batman?
@7:17 reminds me of the King Ramses Curse episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog 😂
Absolutely a must have for the collection.
The Joker is 6'5" & 191lbs in canon; J's length, reach, unpredictable combat style, inhuman pain tolerance, & hving Batman as his sparring partner are what makes The Joker so formidable at H2H CQC.
The Joker could kill or at least defeat more than half of the DC Universe in H2H CQC. Joker is very underrated at combat.
Nice I love comics
It's interesting that they still subtley try to incorporate the Pale Man idea into his backstory. Something they borrowed from IT. It doesn't really make sense for Joker origin. But there was potential there for something.
With this, another "reboot" of Joker's origin story, I'm reminded of an infamous quote from the OG Joker origin story: The Killing Joke.
"If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!"
It is a great quote; and, it was a phenomenal idea. I just wish (almost) every writer since hadn't decided that it meant they could create whatever stupid origin they wanted and there would be no conflict. It was an insight into his character. It wasn't an invite to write any backstory the author thought might be neat.
This was awesome
The door scene reminds me of the mask how they don't take him seriously until he starts killing everyone
This reminds me of a moment from the Killing Joke where Joker says something along the lines of: If I'm going to have an origin story, I prefer it to be multiple choice
Yo this was dope
Rob... I hope this ain't too outa place but u gotta show some love to Akira Toriyama... He's that big. RIP to a Legend
Outta place this about the joker
@Smokeynephewabk U prolly right, I just ddnt know where to say it at the time
This shit almost made me cry even before you started speaking bro 😔. It feels like I lost a family member…
Awesome
rob please answer this. @ 5:50 you say "in service of something greater". Are they talking about trigon? isnt there a story that said gothams crime problem is because of some ritual involving trigon a long time ago? what are your thoughts?
This evil doctor's statement that we can "be whatever we want" comes across a lot like that cartoon "Monster".
You mean the one with Johan Liebert?
@@marygonzalez2472 That's the one!
I love this. I heard about Batman The Knight and read it for myself. I don’t know what to read following that if I get the name of this coming series I can read it now. I love Batman, and comics in general but I’ve always found it hard to read anything besides one shots, miniseries, or self contained stories like DCeased. It is very difficult because starting to read any comic I like then they site other comics/events, and managing chronology is hard on my own. Thats why I read manga any stories I’m into are self contained, and while they might have sequels or retcon certain things it’s still single characters contained to a single story unlike comics where other characters with their own long running series and lore crossover with one another. That’s why I wish I knew about DC Rebirth/New 52 when they relaunched making it more friendly for new readers I would’ve started reading then but “sigh” it’s too late.
I'd love to see more of the "focus" personality of Joker. That's a really terrifying version of him thats interesting to see how he acts.
This story is AMAZING!!!!!! 💥
I'll give it a read bc the story is good and the art too
Joker in a hoodie and sweat pants😂😮
i like how this joker has the white dot eyes from the animated batman joker
I like it. I wish you covered that other scene in the story( the joker jokerized the entire planet earth).
I NEVER would've thought that THE Joker himself, actually meets his father in person in this Comic.
Can you do a Merged Sentry vs Superboy prime video
I'm not sure you can get more intimidating them smiling while walking into a room with people, closing the door behind you, and then locking it.
NGL this story actually pretty 🔥
One of the better and more enjoyable origin stories of the Joker as well as Batman.
Is there a full series for this story? Can we cover it?
Haha nice with the Bronx tale reference
this opens the door for us to FINALLY meet Melvin Melvin, Brother of the Joker Melvin Melvin, Brother of the Joker Melvin Melvin, Brother of the Joker
R.I.P Akira toriyama 🌹🌹
Cannon or not it's a good story and thats all i care about, did it bring me joy and did i feel like i lost time by reading/watching something?
This some real joker shit....bout time. Love it.
I had to watch this Joker meeting his father Is a thing to watch
This guy would be super handy for me. Pick and choose when my did happens? Awesome.
Daniel literally said hey i made a such a good super hero i needed to make a villain for him so he doesn't get bored
we really don't need a back story for the joker.
Yeah. we do. and how it's being played is perfect.
@JiotheYasuke no. we don't. the way this character works is much better off when his background is left unclear. On top of that, the comics have relied way to heavily on his character the past couple years and have taken away much of the mystique of character, he's much better left as an unknown force of chaos. It's also taken away in my opinion from the mainline comic by overusing him and not letting other rogues have more drawn out and elaborate stories such as Mr Freeze and Two-Face etc.
Oh god, am I excited for this video
Why?
@@intothefrayyo at first I thought the Joker was actually going to meet his dad, from the title, reading the comics though...click bait. I'm not excited anymore
@@intothefrayyo like reading the issue, I can't even see (unless I missed something) anything that even mentions his father. It's just TOO clickbaity for my liking.
Add on to a continued already laid out origins story. Enhance and play up upon.
Joker: would you laugh with me?, I'd laugh with me, I'd laugh with me hard..so hard
...rememeber that time he told Harley quin about his father. and how he was beaten? or given scars?
Sounds like an interesting story.
Only in the comics, can cops get in trouble from with video evidence...
Changed the title fast huh rob 😂 thought about it
"Here ya go. You just *control* your *insanity* . That's all. A little meditation... I say some grandiose bullshit... maybe we take our shirts off.... bada boom bada bing." This sounds like a hilariously bad story.
dumb question. so like, did Joker unlock 3 other Personalites, or only 2? IE Which one is the "original" and which 2 were unlocked
ive always had questions about how joker could take beatings from batman, i think this works in terms of origins
Now Rob...you know you wrong for this click bait title😂
daniel is such a self insert is crazy
Better content, finally.
The Jokers Father still alive?
Not anymore
3:39 no, it was not "like a comedic concept"
top tier villian hands down, him and Darkseid
Love the DC content. DC top 20 most powerful characters hierarchy please.
I like this Origin story 🔥🔥
We need more multiple origin story characters like the joker 😂. I love the idea of a character having no define origin / beginning and letting the viewer decide individually.
Feels criminal to be this early robcore
Finally the reveal the Batman and Joker are brothers.
Ugh
This story would have been a good Arkham game
The power to compartmentalize is a superpower too, right.....right?
Beyond omega level: The Divine Creator
Yo Big Rob, idk if you a big fan of DB. Akira Toriyama passed away. Do you mind "sending him off" with a lil tribute. You are one of the narrator in this time. It would be only rite, thanks.
When the Red Hood gang becomes the Strike Team 😆
Waiting for Zdarsky run full story, it'll probably end in 1 or 2 yrs.
😂 Man this is different when joker explained about his dad back at the Harley Quinn animated series 😮
Actually, this is not bad.. I was sooo worried when they announced this was happening it be underwhelming.... or not set up Joker to be Batman's opposite equal... and to some point that fear is not alleviated... Joker did not train anything besides his mind... while batman trained his mind and body...
So... in a way.. this elevates Danial in a lot of ways to the most important teacher batman ever got... without fear.. You can overcome everything... and accomplish anything... Batman certainly is a man without fear and a high tolerance to pain... but it also makes me think.... did Batman did not learn enough from? Like Batman has his Zur-En-Arrh personality... he never uses it.. Where it seems like Joker deep dives into it. Joker also embraced all of Danial's lessons, while Batman seems to reject them. Can Batman ever beat Joker without embracing the lessons Danial tried to impart on him... Or would all it take is joker to slip up and let loose something that batman could pick up on as Daniel's lesson to both men?
I am speculating a lot.. but it has good bones in the story.. so most of my fear is placated.. I want to see how this could be used going forward... and see what a real joke without is... (even though it kinda is a messy fit into joker story because joker has shown fear before... Of the IRS... ) but maybe that's his Zur-En_arrh personality talking..
Jim Gordon alwaaaysss rooting out corruption lmfao
So is this option c of the multiple choice origin?
Cool
I can’t wait for the origin in 2 years
I actually like this story of joker honestly
Joker Ak in one hand and a flashbang in the other.😱
Never wanted to see a story about Joker and his dad🤦🏽♂️glad I stopped reading and collecting comics.
7:40 As fascinating as this entry is, I feel like zeroing in on this part. I don't understand why people think this kind of thinking is anything but horrifying. I mean, it's wrong, but how could believing good and evil to be make believe be a net positive? The only people who at least seem to make a net positive out of it are those who claim to believe it but act like it's not true, which begs the question: do they deep down believe it at all? It mostly just sounds like an excuse to live however you want ...
I actually really like this so far.
