With Steve gone and trying to make amends for what has been done, Bucky Barnes is trying to cope in a world where he no longer has to fight but receives vivid nightmares of him during his time as a Winter Solider. Most recently, he's been having a recurring dream where he's hurting a girl that he's never seen before and it bothers him. Who is she? Why is he dreaming of her?
Ripley, a powerful mutant of the x-men, had lost everything in her universe and traveled to a different dimension where she meets Bucky Barnes; the exact same man who had been her boyfriend in her own timeline of Earth 616. Because of her and her powers, it affects Bucky's memory to the point that he's able to play her own memories in his mind as dreams.
They can't deny the strong connection between them; the emotional tether.
