Hi, I'm looking at increasing my skill set, getting into pcb repair... micro soldering like you did here and what ever else I can learn along the way. If you are willing and have the time, could you maybe put together a list of what you see as absolutely essential equipment needed to get going with it? Or maybe some good resources to point me towards. I've only ever soldered plumbing and regular wire, so I'm not familiar with the terminology of the equipment to even begin searching for the specific machines and tools for this particular trade. I have a good set up glass replacement and whatnot but not for circuit board component replacement. In this video, after you tinned the contacts on the new charging port itself, you used another tool I didn't recognize that I'm not sure what you used it for. What was that?

What liquid material is added while heating the board with a soldering tool to loosen the port?
