Bom trabalho!
Ah no... it took me so long to find this tune, and then when I finally found this I was completely mesmerised, tried to play it on my regular acoustic guitar. Took me too long to realise that that is a different instrument altogether lol. I got drunk on beautiful music and didn't realise it was 12 strings and not me seeing double haha I love this so much but cannot play without the correct instrument, only listen

Hi Cordeone, thank you for posting this. This is a fantastic intro piece for getting into Fado music. I am primarily a guitar teacher and have recently taken on a student that has wanted to learn Fado music. I let them know that coming from guitar I can help with building basic dexterity but this is a new style of music for me as well so we'll both be learning something new (of course I'll be working ahead a bit and doing my best to guide them). I wanted to ask, do Fado guitarists consider the string closest to them the 1st string? On guitar, we consider that one the 6th and the 1st is the one closest to the floor. I was just wondering if that's the standard for Lisbon guitar or if it was just presented this way for teaching purposes. If it is standard to consider the string closest to you the 1st, do you read tab (cifra) differently as well? (I'm assuming notation would remain the same). Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts 🙏
Hi man! Thanks for your question! Interesting one! I don’t count the strings the way you mentioned but that’s in fact how usually the Fado guitarists consider it. So just like you said, high B is the first one. As for Tab system, I’m not sure honestly, I never read for Portuguese Guitar.

Hi mister, I've just got to know Fado not so long ago so I still don't know much. I'd like to ask, is "fado menor" translated to "fado in minor scale" and is it an umbrella term referring to a style of fado rather than a name of one certain song (similar to the term "sonata" in classical music)? Also the instrument part you were playing isn't a complete fado itself, but an accompaniment for a singer, and the singer will sing a poet with his/her own melody over this accompaniment, am I correct? Thank you so much for explanation. Greeting from Vietnam.
Hi my friend! I’m happy to answer your comment and see you in my channel from Vietnam. Yes, Fado menor is translated to Fado in minor scale. It’s the first style of fado that ever existed, we call him also king of fado. And you’re right about the part I’ve played. 😊 Do you play Portuguese guitar?
Thanks for the answer. No I'm not even a professional musician haha. Just know something about electrical guitar and love to learn new things on the internet :)
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, there's a reason why we use these specific fake nails on Portuguese Guitar. It is the only way you can fully make it sound like this. By the way, I teach :-) If you're interested, you can contact me directly through my website cordeone.com I'll answer personally.

Portuguese Guitar is indeed a special instrument that can’t be imitated. :-)
Por favor, agradeço a MARCA e o MODELO da guitarra portuguesa.

what make is your guitarra?
Nao percebi a sua pergunta amigo
@@cordeone Com isso, acho que ele está perguntando qual é a marca da sua guitarra, quem fez sua guitarra, de onde você a comprou.
@@sh-ez5xy Obrigado
It’s a luthier from Lisbonne who made it. His name is Oscar Cardoso
I have this Fado guitar, but don’t use the picks. I use my fingernails and have a very difficult time with it.
