When you described foundation as sitting in little pockets of each individual pore! That’s exactly how most foundations sit on the front of my cheeks and around my nose
The Urban Decay Face Bond does this on me! I was so excited, and I tried prepping so many ways. Even with a pore filling primer. Plus, I'm pretty oily, so somehow all the foundation on my skin melted, but the stuff in my pores stayed?!😭
i felt so seen when you talked about the foundation sitting on your skin. like for the first time ever I really saw on someone else the way makeup sits on my face. It really is a "if you know you know" type of a thing.
I feel like if Patrick Ta had marketed the foundation as a tinted serum, like the Typology one, it would have been better received. I got it and it's sheer and moisturizing, doesn't last long on me, but it works well as a tinted serum. I feel like it's a mismarketed product.
So I love those BK brushes - but the mark up for the matching ferrule/bristles and little pouch is painful!! Glad I already have them and don’t feel compelled to get duplicates.
I also have a really oily scalp. I really like the hairitage lazy day dry shampoo from Walmart. It smells amazing and makes your hair feel clean but not overly powdered. I have dark hair so there is a white cast but unlike other dry shampoos I can easily work it away with my fingers or just hitting it with my blow dryer.
Wash your pits with a benzoyl peroxide face wash (4% is fine) at night and put a deodorant/antiperspirant on immediately after. It works SO well and no need to reapply the next day. I learned that from Dr. Dray. I've been wanting the vanilla skin deodorant just because I looove the scent, not because I need the deodorant protection 😆
Would love to hear what your favourite base products are at the moment! also would love an update on the best products from last years advents... how did barbara and augustinus do? 🤣
Have you tried the Lush perfume, 'Chelsea Morning' ? It's similar to Super milk - kind of toffee lemon scent. Also, the Lush perfume in 'Turmeric Latte' is yum - a little bit chai, spicy with a little clove smokiness.
I bought eye cream from good molecules and it came in that aluminum packaging that some cream products have. And it was six bucks. Every last beauty product, skin care product, hair and body product, could be made with recycled aluminum, with the same silhouettes and printing and artwork, different grades for how flexible or not the material should be, and it would be so good for the environment, and it wouldn't necessarily mean price hikes. and there might be a limited number that would need a thin plastic coating on the inside so that ingredients didn't interact with the metal. But that would still reduce plastic. And think of all the soda cans and soup cans we dump into the environment every day. There is so much available material. bonus, it would make things actually feel more luxurious.
Ok when my skin looks like that with foundation on, it's when my skin is dry/dehydrated even though I'm oily. It doesn't happen often to me but I have seen it before and I think it's more about your skincare than makeup. Even oily skin needs hydration! I use tretinoin so went through a stage where my skin was super dry/peeling but still oily (nightmare). I had to switch to super rich moisturisers and my skin really needed it. Try exfoliating with glycolic, lactic or malic acid, [add whatever treatment/serum you're using], hydrating with hyaluronic acid and then using quite a rich moisturiser, it doesn't have to be greasy or have a wet finish, there are lots of thicker creams that are super hydrating and buttery that don't make my skin more oily or mess with my makeup. I find water-gel creams don't hydrate my skin enough and even though I've been oily all my life I still need a richer moisturiser. I doesn't make sense in terms of the way products are marketed but that's how it works for me!
Also LOL your dry shampoo review. I'm a recent convert to the Bumble & Bumble Pret-a-Powder and also their dry shampoo mist! I never hear anyone talk about it but I got a mini as a GWP and it was a revelation! The mist really makes your hair feel fresh again, and the powder adds more texture. I'm a long-time lover of the IGK first class dry shampoo (the black one) it adds SO SO much texture to the hair, you can definitely feel it in your hair but I'm oily, I wash my hair every 4 days and I have a fringe/bangs so I need that texture to stop my hair looking so flat and limp. Not sure if you've used any of those in the past, the pret-a-powder is far less texturising than the IGK, that one is extreme but that's where I'm at with dry shampoo (not that you asked!)
I love super milk! I've been using it for years. It's great for curly hair since its part of their curl line. It smells amazing and is great for wash day or a nice way to revitalize those curls!!!
Baking soda is known to be an irritant. And that's the thing with natural deodorant, they aren't antiperspirant, which stops the bacteria that causes the smell.
I'm 74 and have always had terrible sensitivity to any and all deodorants, even organic ones. About 30 yrs ago I discovered Weleda. A physician, a philosopher (YES, a philosopher) & a chemist founded the company in 1921. They have two 24-hour spray deodorants that have never irritated my underarms & leave you fresh smelling for about 24 hours: wild rose & citrus. Both are light & clean smelling. There's a 12-hour spray scented in sage, but that one's given me mild problems, so I avoid it. I've never tried any of the roll-on because I avoid all roll-ons like the plague. You might be interested in trying this product. P.S. I just adore you and both your channels. Watch you all the time. You're delightful & a bright ray of sunshine, & your comments make me laugh all the time: IN A GOOD WAY.
Yes the brow products are usually too warm! I just bought the Marcelle light ash blonde I have to test it out but the swatch on the website seemed promising
Loved this review! I’m so drawn to the Makeup by Mario palette, but I have all of those colors already. I think I’m going to hold off. I will not use lip liners that are wooden pencils. I don’t like the scent. Thank you!!🤗
tbh the new lip butter balm, i appreciated the sweetness of it. i have other butter balms and they're great, but if they gob into your mouth, eeeeek, imo it's horrible. this one tho, was thinner (better formula for me) and sweeter. overall, a better experience. i thought they nailed this formula w this release
I KNOW about the pockets thing ! You and me seem to have the same fussy oily skin, very hard to make things sink in but then last and not sit on top and curdle, what’s your recommendation for one that really will work - new subscriber here ❤
Have you ever tried Redhead Revolution makeup? They have a decent skin tint that doesnt muck up my face like almost all foundations do. Also, I was a redhead as a child, not anymore and it still works wonderful for my skin tone.
I’m currently using the Tom’s of Maine North woods deodorant (with aluminum) I really like the scent and it works well! I’m really enjoying my vanilla skin body mist :) especially before bed
The rerelease of the Ethereal Eyes is plastic packaging. I can confirm because I have both and i wouldn’t have known the first was metal because when I purchased last year it was plastic!
So, I’m crazy and have the original ethereal eyes palette and also bought a back up when he re-launched it. The original is the metal packaging that you were talking about, but the relaunch was the plastic 🙄 which I’m assuming is the same as this new palette. I still plan on picking it up because I really like the formula of the original ethereal eyes, but yes, I really wish he would’ve stuck with that first metal packaging 😭
@ you’re welcome! Ps you look beautiful! I bought mine during the last sale and still have half a bottle left and use it almost every single day! I’d say it’s worth it especially during the sale! Great video as always! 🥰
i have really dry and dehydrated skin but i sweat a lot bc masculinizing hormone replacement therapy (like i sweat-- as in to evaporate moisture off the skin to cool down sweat, not produce straight oil sweat) and i totally understand the foundation pocket dot texture. i also have larger pores on my cheeks and pitted acne scarring, but its like a webby looking kind of scarring from picking zits til they got infected and then picking the scab off after it started to heal then rinse and repeat over many years, rather than like concave pits from repeated bouts of nodular cystic acne in a person without dermatillomania. so nothing ever sits right :(
I couldn’t agree more about the Summer Fridays lip balm unfortunately. The one from last year felt like the other ones I have (even though I personally couldn’t get past the scent) but this years is SO thin and not nearly as hydrating. It also feels so much more empty to me!
I’ve never been able to find an all over face product/foundation that doesn’t sit on my skin like that. I don’t wear full face makeup because of that, but I want to be able to find something that I could try
What are the two foundations that are working out for you? We are similar skintone and I'm also oily. I do get what you mean by the dots of foundation on the skin, I hate it.
The Covergirl Simply Ageless Skin Perfector Essence worked wonderfully the first couple of times I used it. Since then, it’s been finicky to the point that I just don’t bother with it. Same prep and skin care. Don’t know why this happens!!
The Patrick Ta foundation looks BEAUTIFUL in natural lighting when first applied for me. I look like a softly glowing peach. But when I go to work in low light, yellow low light to be specific, and sweat or produce 1 microgram of oil... it starts separating and looking so WEIRD. It just looks like makeup is on my makeup.
I didn't manage to get ethereal eyes until the re-release and i can confirm it was already switched to the plastic packaging :( I'm guessing it's a cost cutting move
“If you know you know” YES girl I know the struggle 😭 Our skin is the same lol so your reviews are gospel for me You love something? Say less. Add to cart. This system hasn’t let me down once 🤣
I’m passed my prime but I remember being excited as a young teen to buy my 1st deodorant like my friends. I will never forget my dad, yes my dad, telling me not to use it because it will make me smell worse. I did the Drysol thing for awhile but one day I ran out and said eff it. I won’t wear white shirts. I can’t remember the last time I used deodorant. Or foundation for that matter
I got a summer Friday lip butter recently for the first time and I hate it. I really don’t get the hype. It’s basically Lancôme’s juicy tubes. The colour is uneven and thin it doesn’t last on me and I don’t think it’s moisturizing or doing anything. The smell is artificial as well. Clarins lip perfector is way way way better than this.
As someone who has sensitive skin/bo, I recently started using salicylic and glycolic acid on my armpits, and it has worked WONDERS. I can wear natural deodorant for multiple days or even give my pits a rest at home, and there is no smell. Like at all.
Most of the colors in the Makeup by Mario palette look EXACTLY like the other one until you hold them up together. The restock of the original is plastic because I got it after the restock.

Is there a difference between sweat and oil? I feel like there is but maybe I’m wrong - I’d describe my skin as dry but I sweat a lot but I don’t even know if that’s a possible description maybe I’m just oily and delusional. Love the video as always!
I think you have to "detox" your body from using a regular deoderant and it may take awhile. That Phlur deoderant looks amazing but Sephora in Canada doesn't sell that product yet. I buy the Salt & Stone deoderant which I love.
I’ve been using natural deo only since 2007 and still some natural deos don’t work for me on certain days or at all. I think it’s just body chemistry and you have to find one for you.
Girl, we need a GRWM life update kind of video 😂 Apologies, but I'm a nosy b!tch and you're my favorite YT personality..lol love you ❤ and no pressure
I second the motion 🙋🏽♀️

This color sweater is sooo cute on you!!!

When you described how the Patrick Ta foundation sits on your skin I felt seen! That’s how most things are on me!
It’s like it’s just sitting there… not blending… not sinking in! Its been soo hard to find products that just work!
Did you try applying it with a sponge? It doesn’t look like a foundation that can be applied with a brush.
You are so pretty, you look good in green
Aww thanks!! 💕😊
Ugh a lauren video game right as I settle down for the night. Your content is the besttttt girl!!!
🩷😊💕
Girl, the smokey eyes are gorgeous!
I feel like if Patrick Ta had marketed the foundation as a tinted serum, like the Typology one, it would have been better received. I got it and it's sheer and moisturizing, doesn't last long on me, but it works well as a tinted serum. I feel like it's a mismarketed product.
You do such a great job on your videos. Curious though, what are your tried and true foundations?
I love your videos! You always inspire me to put my sparkly eyeshadows on. Just to put eyeshadow on in general. 🥰
Lauren, I know I'm just some subscriber on the internet but I wanted you to know you look really great with your hair down! 💙
You're the only makeup artist I actually watch and take recs from.
So I love those BK brushes - but the mark up for the matching ferrule/bristles and little pouch is painful!! Glad I already have them and don’t feel compelled to get duplicates.
The crown affair leave in conditioner smells so amazing, if that is something that someone needs. It is perfect for my thicker curly hair!
The restock of the OG Ethereal Eyes was plastic, not metal.
Oh dang!! I guess that change happened a while ago!! Thank you for the confirmation!
😱
Waiting for advent days ahead …. Anthropologie?? Merit perfume ???? 🎉🎉🎉

yay lauren video! love this eye look and blush combo!!!
Thank you!!! 😊🩷😊
Girl, you gotta try the new Milani primer in the purple tub, goes on clear and feels soooo good on the skin!😊 $14.99
I ❤ the Patrick Ta foundation! It’s perfect for my normal to dry skin.😊
I love your reviews, I'm subscribed to maybe a handful of YT these days, and you're one of them. Thanks for keeping it real! 🧡
Your explanation for why you didn’t love the hot cocoa lip butter balm made me want it more!
Wash your pits with a benzoyl peroxide face wash (4% is fine) at night and put a deodorant/antiperspirant on immediately after. It works SO well and no need to reapply the next day. I learned that from Dr. Dray.

Hi Lauren, hope you're doing well! So glad you posted😊
So excited to see your face!!!! Great video. Thanks for comparing the Persona blush sticks to the Rhode ones!
I always look forward to your videos. I hope you're doing well and congrats on the move.
Love your reviews, Lauren! You really inspired me to get into eye glitters again, you look amazing in every video. ✨✨✨
Your nails look so cool!

With the deodorant, that’s probably because it’s not an antiperspirant ,It’s just a deodorant. The anti-perspirant is what keeps you from sweating.
Girl, K18 dry shampoo (so bloody expensive, I know) is a total game changer! Best I’ve ever used! But you don’t need a lot!
I will have to try that one during the sale!! Thank you!!
@ you’re welcome! Ps you look beautiful! I bought mine during the last sale and still have half a bottle left and use it almost every single day! I’d say it’s worth it especially during the sale! Great video as always! 🥰

The Patrick Ta foundation works with a minimal amount, and applied with the fingers.

What are your go-to brow products you mentioned? I have the same issue, they turn warm on me! I would love to hear what you use.
Thank you for this! Hope you're well Lauren xx oh & the fenty eaze drop sat in every pore on my face, like little tiny dots! Awful.
Same! It was so disappointing because I really loved it otherwise.
Hi! Can you give us your opinion on ONE/SIZE products? Thx 🙏🏻

lauren!!! I'm convinced dry shampoo, any brand, any form, DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. Help!
TMI 😮
I am 47 and have yet to find my perfect foundation or primer. What are your favorites? Or of anyone else knows the answer I’m curious.
Those rhode blushes are pretty but whyyy is that packaging so huge and bulky?
Most of the colors in the Makeup by Mario palette look EXACTLY like the other one until you hold them up together. The restock of the original is plastic because I got it after the restock.
Very weird but I get Boardwalk Delight vibes from Liis Etherial Wave. Sweet bergamot maybe
But isn't Liis a better quality fragrance ? I don't like any of the Maison Margiela fragrances becuase they only last an hour before turning into a unrecognizable mess.
@ boardwalk delight by Skylar
@@strangecacti OK. My Mistake. I actually like some of the Skylar and 7 Virtues fragrances and they're price much lower than others at Sephora.

This is so reminding me of Channel in the 90s. IT dots in the pores!! It's not you.
Yeah that PT foundation was not it lol I'm glad you didn't pay for it!
That Phur deodorant sounds like Malin+Goetz. Fancy and stinking. Firdt deodorant i threw out before finishing.
maybe the salt air deodorants could work for you? great video as always ❤

I can’t stand the artificial sweeteners in some lip products migrating into my mouth, so gross 😝
