✰ This is my first time doing a crochet video and I found it quite hard to video and crochet. But I hope it will help. It look me awhile to try to find a way to making a bag because i have seen this bag all over tik tok and it look a very long time for me to figure out how to make it. Also at the time there were no tutorials. But I found out that someone else just recently posted a tutorial :,) thou mine is a bit different ^^ ⁺˚⋆｡°✩₊

Repeat as many rounds as you need to the size you would like. Just when you do the next row add 2 double crochets. So for r 7 it would be 12 double crochet, r 8, 14 double crochet so on…

just seen on the other star bag video someone commented and said that you copied their pattern. clearly they didn’t read your description and even if you did copy their pattern, this tutorial is much more easier to follow. please don’t take this down and thank you so much for this tutorial
AW THANK YOU. I learnt how to do the star from Lanas y Ovillosin UA-cam video. I did not copy her written pattern but the pattern is probably quite similar to the one she wrote. I have also linked her video in the description. I only wrote the star pattern part because that’s the bit that’s the hardest.
For anyone struggling with the straps a good option is to just make the black rows all the way around (sc all sides of both stars and then dc 4 sides of each star) and then make two straps separate that can be sewn onto the insides of both sides of the stars when they’re put together.
omg tnx for this tutorial. btw, the dark colored yarn is kinda not a great choice tho. and your hook is so squeaky everytime u pull through that i cringe from time to time. but overall, it's an easy tutorial. i like it! xx 💓

How many grams of yarn did you use
At 27:40 . Do you know if she crocheted in front loop or back loop? Iam a bit confused because we are now working on the outside instead of workin on the inside, like the first time

the bag is really cute! although my only problem is that the explanation doesnt go into many specifics at most parts. for example, the placement of some things like the straps. but overall not 😊bad!

Yes, however to fix this you can line your bag with fabric

kudos to you for making your first crochet tutorial! i've been following along to make my own bag and im very excited to finish it. one recommendation i may make is next time, to not have one of the primary colors you're working with for the more complicated parts of the tutorial (ie starting the star and working on the handle) be black, or any other super dark color. there's a point in the video where you mention it too, but its one of the most difficult colors to work with because of the low visibility. in this case, it also makes it a hard color to follow along with in a video. I'd recommend working with a lighter color in your next tutorial, like a peach color from the first bag, so that even when you struggle to describe what you're doing in words, its easier to see visually what stitches you're working in and etc. however i also really respect how you provide extra links like for making the star shape itself, it was very helpful to look at when i found myself struggling. i wish you luck with your future videos!

Interesting how everyone has differing opinions on the video. I found it extremely difficult to follow, but I like your handle and side finishing, so I had to forge my way thru. However, you were very clear at the beginning that this was your first tutorial, so people shouldnt be too upset if they decide to try and follow.
While the black yarn, or the lack of light and closeups, makes it difficult to see, rewatching certain parts over and over helped get me to the end, and it turned out okay. One thing I learned thru this video is that having more confidence goes a long way in my finished project. I have to remember that crochet is not like knitting, so if you mess up, it's easy to rip back and try again vs knitting where its much harder to rip back.
Best of luck on future videos! You got your first one out of the way which is a great accomplishment!

im new to crochet, what size hook and yarns did you use? does it really matter?
I used 3.0mm crochet hook. The hook really depends on your yarn size. On the most of the yarn there is a “ needle size “ and just use around that size. I used 4 season, marvel yarn, 8ply ( 8ply is the size of yarn ) I used acrylic yarn and 100g. The size of the yarn kinda matters because if you use thicker yarn the bag would turn out larger. I hope this helps ^^

I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise that black was hard to see on camera until I started editing. Next time I will not use black yarn for my tutorials. But I do have the words on the side. I also have a link to another video from another UA-camr on making the star part which is easier to see. I learnt how to make the star part from her video. So hopefully it helps. Be free to ask any more questions or concerns. ( I could make a UA-cam short on it how to do the star part with another colour yarn if it would help? )

hi! so i have a question on the 20:54, im confused on where you double crocheted. not in the chain, but what side on the star did you crochet? the back or the front of the star?
You would be front loop only for the back. Back of the star, and double crochet front loop only. Thank you for watching

I’m confused at 16:20 because it says 8 double crochets But idk if to do 2 in one hole or if the beginning double crochets count
So you changed colour, chain 3, then do 2 double crochet in the same whole. After you do the 8 double crochets. The 2 that you did do not count as your 8.
i reached row 7 and im supposed to make 12 dc but for some reason i dont have enough chains to make 12 dc ? what can i do and why did that happen ?
Maybe check if you have done the right amount last time? Make sure last round you ( 3dc in the corner, chain 3, 3 dc )all in the corner. How many dc can you fit on your chain? Sometimes some can get hidden from the 3dc so check if there’s hidden ones. Hopefully this helps 🫶
Okay at 4:57 I did my fourth point and skipped a stich and single crochet but then it says to do it again. Also I have to chains left before I’m able to do my Three double crochet where I started what am I doing wrong?🙇♀️

Stop when you reach the end of ten strap and flip your work and chain 2, * double crochet, double crochet, chain 2, skip 2, double crochet, double crochet, chain 2, skip 2 and repeat from * after you get your other side of the star and go inside a corner and chain 3 then 2 double crochet, and just single crochet all around with the ( 3 double crochet , chain 3 , 3 double crochet ) in the corners and then go back on the strap and double crochet all around again. Then, attach the sides together by flipping your work and slip stitching all around. Please read and watch because it's hard to describe what I did... hopefully it helped 😭🫶

There sometimes are some that are hidden when you do the points. Make sure your getting the ones right next to the points

Sorry for late reply but in the corner of the other star you would chain 3 and do 2 double crochets in the same whole. The next few is one double crochet and you skip 2 at the low parts. ( between the points ) just like how you would have before.

Ok, so I'm in minute 6:12 and like I double crochet into 2 different spaces, but if I skip 3 like you say, I've got nothing left to fo the 2 remaining double crochets??? So what do I do? Should I change it, whattttttt
It's hard to see in the video because she's using black yarn, but when you do the 3dc, 3ch, 3dc corner piece, it can cover the bottom row stitches. You may have to pull back the double crochet in that corner piece to get to that first stitch.
Also, keep in mind, after that first round of 2dc then skip 3 on the second round and so forth its going to switch to skip 2. And the amount of dc will increase by 2 each round. So round 2 is 2dc, sk3, round 3 is 4dc, sk2, round 4 is 6dc, sk2 and so on

helloo. so, i made one side of the bag but I'm having difficulty making the second side. everytime I do as you say, I end up getting 4 heads (the sides of the star) instead of 5. I tried different tutorials but I always end up with 4 heads. do you have any recommendations on how I can fix it??
When you start making the points, just do 5 points. So the first thing you do is the 3 chain, which is like half of a point. You do 4 more FULL points, and then you finish off the 5th point ( you already started the 5th point at the start )

The one I made, from one corner another corner it’s 37cm. I would say yes. You can make the star bag as big as you like by doing more rows on the star. So you can choose how big it would be.
is it just me or does everyones bag deform when putting stuff in? i wanna keep the sart shape but it doesn't really work- :c
Sometimes it can be the type of yarn but to definitely fix this is to put a star shape lining ( fabric) in it

I got 100g yarn. Which is 270m long and I had left over yarn. My yarn was 8ply so I used 3.0mm. But I think thicker yarn might be better and faster and use a crochet hook that fits your yarn. Thank you

On the like black border the text said to double crochet then skip 2 but for the example you did skip 2 and then double crochet…. So which one should I do?? 😅

6 to 19 hours? Really depends on how fast you can crochet. Takes a few hours at least

Just used 2 colors. Each colour is 100g and 8ply. After the bag I still have a bit of yarn left over

Does the rope stretch by carrying the bag with stuf on it ?
Yes it does, but not stretch much, also depends on how tight you make it. The tighter your strap is the less it with stretch. It can also depend on what type of yarn you use or how heavy the things you put in. The one I made, I can put a phone, wallet, glasses, and it’s all okay. A way you could stop this from happening is lining your work with fabric.

At 17:19 idk what the “(_ _ double crochet “and the other _ _double crochet means please respond
__ means how many double crochets your doing depending on what row your on. Because each row your double crochet will increase by 2. eg on row 4: you do 6 double crochet row 5 : 8 double crochet, row 6 : 10 double crochet. It just means like how many your doing for that row.

Hi I've been crocheting for a while now- that sound is usually only made from two things, either your stitches are too tight, or your hook may be sweaty from holding it so long, every now and then if you hear that noise wipe your hook with your sleeve. If it doesn't stop, you may be crocheting too tightly.

The problem is that I don’t really know how to word it 😭. Like I tried and gave it to a friend to try and she couldn’t quite understand the strap part that i wrote. But just for the strap it’s like chain the straps, next row it’s dc, then ( *dc, dc, chain 2, skip 2, dc, dc, chain 2, skip 2 repeat from * ), dc. If that kinda make sense? Sorry and thank you 🫶
