Thanks for posting this Peter! The G3 is really a workhorse especially for non critical applications like crew coms. The only thing I wish they had done with the G4 is go with a removable SNA connector. I did the SNA mod on my G3's and use them for my COM systems and the difference in performance is night and day.
Thanks for this in depth overview of the G4. I'm new in audio / video land 🤣 how can you do a dual interview like this video? I'm using an DSLR and no external recorder. Thanks again 🙏🏽
@@njh209 but rechargable AA's are 1.2 volt but in G3 & G4's behind battery Door they have mentioned 1.5 volt AA!does voltage fluctuations in rechargable cause any signal dropouts problems?
Too bad that the constant changes in free frequency ranges turned many of the devices basically paperweight. We lost the 800MHz bands in 2015, then the 700MHz in 2021, and there is no chance to convert the devices to other bands even by a technician? Feels so good to lose 1000's of $$$. :(
@@TheNomadBushCrapperIndianChief you could use a handheld transmitter with one receiver and the mic between people or if you wanted to have a lav on everyone use one transmitter and one receiver pair for each person in the interview.
Nick Huston Thanks for the heads up.. GEEZUS that’s a lot of outlay..!!! I thought the genius’s at Sennheiser would have made it possible to link two transmitters to one receiver, for this type of scenario. Any other tips..???
I am sure quality is the first thing so Sennheiser wins but the stuff coming out of China has on board recording, two mics to one transmitter, rechargeable via USB c. The and a bigger display. And do not talk about the price. But quality is king
Excellent interview and overview of what to expect from the higher end Senheiser products! Thank you for this video. Keep them coming!

Yes!
Hi, Thanks for the presentation! Do you know of any protection case that can be used with the plug on transmitter skp 500? Thanks
I just bought a New G3 series kit in Thailand before I knew they were discontinued.
Too bad they did not upgrade their displays a vast amount.
Would a G4 handheld work on a g3 receiver?
Yes. A G4 transmitter will work with a G3 receiver and vice versa.
Can we use rechargable AA's for G3's?if so,will Panasonic eneloop pro AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries (1.2V, 2550mAh) is good option for me
Yes, you can use rechargeable batteries with the G3 and G4 wireless.

@@TheNomadBushCrapperIndianChief the higher end systems can do that but that will cost you more than the G4s

I came here specifically to find out if they are all compatible. Last thing I want 5i do is spend a grand on shit that doesn't work with each other.
What items are you asking about?
