An amazing blue eyed soul singer. The most beautiful woman ever who's voice flowed like silk.and she didn't believe any of this. I wish I could have an opportunity to see her sing in concert! Guess the tabloids were more interested in her private life than her singing! So sad she couldn't be left alone to enjoy her life instead of hounded by the press.amazing lady. With a voice out of this world! We love you Mary obrien!!
What a great song!!! R.I.P. Dusty Springfield. Pet Shop Boys did a great job reviving her career in the late 80s. The songs they wrote for her are amazing- they fit her voice so well!
I'm not trying to be mean or sarcastic in any way at all but I genuinely feel sorry for you because it's a wonderful song. I'm wondering if your comment is a joke. These days everything is easy to find.

All they really did was to give her the sort of platform that she had been looking for. Dusty had always wanted to do this kind of music but never really had the opportunity until as you so rightly said Neil & Chris gave her that foundation. Chris is such a whiz when it comes to the synthesizers he really knows what he's doing. The sad thing was that we lost Dusty Springfield when she was still only 59, not particularly old at all but she died of breast cancer. However I am glad that she had the chance to do the album with the PSB. RIP Dusty Springfield. We love you.
How we miss Dusty spring field what a fantastic ledgend imagine Dusty at Glastonbury along with kylie minogue wow wow wow poor Dusty spring field suffered 10 years of chemotherapy and it took our princess away 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕RIP Dusty
I have always recognised the similarity between the 60s and the 80s. Both decades were unique. Both decades had an energy that wasn't present in other decades. Both decades were extraordinary. Another aspect to the 80s is that it featured so many 60s icons who were still delivering class music like this particularly special song from beautiful Dusty. For people like myself, born just after the 60s had ended, it was awesome to live through the 80s and get to experience some of what made the 60s so special.
The main difference with 80's music was that music technology became more advanced. Thumpier and faster baselines, distinctive sax with piano. Add that to a 60's style song and you're probably right.

I don't know why this woman touches my heart in such a violent way. This song makes me happy and sad at the same time. To me, she's a true icon. A true human being. Ant that voice. How much I miss her as an artist and as a beacon of hope.

Think Dusty experienced a heightened sense of joy as well as a heightened sense of pain throughout her life. She would say herself that she, "Ran on emotions."
She had bipolar and was in the closet, at least publicly. That must have been hard. But she was class. And, had quite the sense of humour too. She used to do back up singing under the pseudonym "Gladys Thong".
Dusty was so sick during these times but amazingly she kept in there, brave, talented lady that she was. We that loved you for all that you were, salute you. Rest in Peace Great Lady.
garry hastings NOT TRUE!! This song from the "Reputations" album was recorded in 1989. Dusty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1995. After a year of remission, the cancer returned and ultimately claimed her life in 1999 at the age of 59.
I always think Dusty had one of the best comebacks of all time. After all those drug hazed years in California she came back and had enormous success . She looked fabulous and still had "it"
While in California she recorded at least two Lp's. The fantastic "Cameo" LP with the songs 'Tupelo Honey' and 'The other Side of life' and the best one "EASY EVIL". Also, she recorded "It Begins Again" Lp in 70's and I think some others. So, while she lived in the then accepted drug culture of California in the 70's she was still recording and also did some amazing t.v. appearances and Supper Club performances. My favorite live performances are of "Since I Fell For You" on two different shows.

On a night like now when I am listening to this song around 1:30 in the morning my sister was visiting me from Bucharest to Madrid where I live because I had been diagnosed with cancer. When she came home we went into the kitchen and talked as if nothing had happened so as not to create a sad atmosphere. I grabbed a speaker and played this song. My sister jumped up and told me... Hey charcoal, I've been looking for this song for a long time but since it didn't remind me of the singer or the title of the song, I'm freaking out that you put it like that without anything. . He took out a bottle of whiskey and told me: tonight we are partying. I told her it was late and if we go up my aunt who had also arrived several hours earlier is going to get up. And my sister said: It's okay, let's invite her to the party......Anyway. We have had fun all night listening to this song over and over again because of how much he liked it and how much he had searched for it. We had a great time in Madrid because summer was beginning... Eventually I overcame cancer and happiness was again in our family. But not forever because she passed away from another health problem 6 months ago and I am now listening to this song over and over again in her memory. Rest in peace my dear sister 😢😢
One of the best voices ever. And the PSBs brought some of the "Wall of Sound" feel to this production. The bois would hang from the rafters when this song came on in the clubs. And...many of us in that generation totally identified with the lyrics. This was before the time when it was "OK to be gay" in large cities. Some guys you knew from the clubs would ignore you when we were all in business suits the next Monday morning.
Am still missing dusty. From 1964 to the present day! So beautiful, inside and out.each track fabulous and innovative today. Beyond soft and gorgeous, beautiful voice.
Heard this on the Greatest hits radio today and loved it !! What a soulful voice this angel has, she has left us now and i am totally gutted and sad after reading about her life so sad but typical of the stars of the sixties drink & drug problems she totally feared people finding out about her sexuality thinking it would ruin her career. That is sad because nobody has the right to question that about anybody. She passed having the big C. These stars give us everything to be joyful about, RIP Dusty.
Love this lady, so sad she's no longer with us, the world lost one of it's true great, no true amazing talents, thank you for everything, we all miss you. X

A very great song. Dusty had the ability to bridge the 60s and the 70s. A great loss indeed.
Dustys Voice - out of this World.
Wonderfull, Classy.
Love and Peace.

Why would you find hateful comments, this song and artist were fantastic, really brings me back to great times
A truly great singer.
soul is missing from the new generation of singers....unique Dusty
Heard this on the Greatest hits radio today and loved it !! What a soulful voice this angel has, she has left us now and i am totally gutted and sad after reading about her life so sad but typical of the stars of the sixties drink & drug problems she totally feared people finding out about her sexuality thinking it would ruin her career. That is sad because nobody has the right to question that about anybody. She passed having the big C. These stars give us everything to be joyful about, RIP Dusty.
A great song!! I will always love and miss you Dusty what a beautiful woman and singer, gone to soon but your music and videos live on always. 🙏❤️
J´ai adoré cette chanson...c´était le beau temps...adieu mon passé...
Merci...coucou
I feel the same.
Song for a beautiful summer
Love this lady, so sad she's no longer with us, the world lost one of it's true great, no true amazing talents, thank you for everything, we all miss you. X
LOVE Dusty, Love the Hair, Love The Look, Love the Song. Love the Performance! There was NO ONE who offered the unique combination of things that Dusty did! How could you not Love her! ( Note: A Statement, NOT Question!)
Ok, if you want to be picky, drop the "How" and switch "could" and "you", and I hope that satisfies you.
Pienso exactamente lo mismo: el pelo, el baile, la voz, la letra, su canción, su look ochentero, la femineidad.
De los grandes regresos en la historia de la música.
