Previously owned vehicles
Purchased one in 1987 still have it in fact gave it to my son for graduation in 08 insurance was to high so he let it set but it still runs and drives decent little car.
Before you give up on that clutch, grab the clutch pedal with your hands and pull up on it. That's how you adjust a clutch on an old Fox body.
Unfortunately the adjuster gear was made of plastic and prone to breaking. I owned one of these and when they broke you were stuck on the side of the road.
@@Ron-dj1cm not really lol. They have a hole in the adjuster for a lock, simply pull through, and stick into that hole and it'll lock and not adjust, works enough to get you home.
One of the many good things about the Fox platform....that overhead map light!
that squeaky clutch sounds like a "flock of seagulls", perfect for an 80's car! lol
The horn is on the turn signal like the English cars. Has an electric rear window defroster
Man shut that door so the buzzing stops lol
Nice lil survivor. Not big on the Foxes, but the lil gem is original!👍
I have the same problem with my '82 Mustang -(squeaky clutch). I sure as hell hope i can successfully fix it...
These are very rare the last time I saw one of these was maybe 20 years ago.
Wheels appear of an 85 and tail pipes for 83 were together on the left side. The position here on either side came out in 85. I owned an 84 and followed the fox body progression, having purchase an 88 Saleen.
Had a 85 that was the same build. The only difference was the int/ext colors. Mine was copper tone with beige interior and had a sunroof instead of tops. Used dealer was asking 5k and I got it for 4500. Only had 32,000 miles on it. Fun to drive. The hp might not have been rated high, but it would damn sure let you know it was a V-8 when you nailed it and shoved it into 2nd gear!!!
7 Fox Mustangs I have owned. My 85 GT vert is a huge hit everywhere I go. Like it or not, Fox saved the Mustang brand.
Owned 6 of them. All four eyes.
What all did you own? Mine were:
79 5.0 Ghia notchback
85 GT 5.0 5-Speed with T-Tops
92 LX 5.0 5-Speed hatchback
86 SVO
2003 Mach 1 5-Speed
Nice video, you just tell like it is.. Flowmasters will make 175hp V8 sound like 400hp
Probably needs a new bushing under the dash where the pedal swivels
4 eyed time machine 👍interior looks nice clean looking fox body 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Engine sounds strong and healthy
Excellent investment. You can get every part for this car at NPD ! Good price .
I had a 80 cobra I dropped a 351w with a c6 transmission in, a black 82 gt ,and 83 gt with t-tops silver in color.
I like this 1983 t-tops 5.0 litre mustang and I’m a big fan of the mustang fox body 1979 to 1993. I had a 1985 mustang, but had to sell it due to many replacements cost for the car. 😞 Hey Nick great video of the mustang well done dude !!!
I always HATED that horn location on my Fox body😊
Very beautiful amazing looking Mustang beautiful colours amazing look thanks Nick
3500.00 that not a 9,000 car, sorry nick . that car will not sell
It's Original, should get $6,000 on the high end, from a Mustang Lover
finding a clean unmodified fox body is hard to come by!
down my way in south carolina guy had a notchback foxbody with a beautiful maroon paint job rebuilt trans and motor 7k. Only reason I didn't buy was it was a stick shift. Car was beautiful!
@@jdgreen214 how can I find this? I'm in Cayce, SC
@@ajflyingatyomouth2831 i can check for you. This was in June. Mecand my family went to cherokee NC. On our way back home it was at this little mechanics shop between anderson and Easley.
@@jdgreen214 Ok, thanks for the reply
@@jdgreen214 why not get the stick shift?
That’s not where the horn is on that car it’s actually on the turn signals when you push the lever in towards the steering wheel
That clutch pedal reminds me of those ducks on Sesame street...lol
T-top Fox ! I'd love to have that. Sounds great too. Phone dial wheels need to go.
Star wheels from 1991-1993 model year
Yeah, those rims were mid 80's. That originally had the TRX rims.
@@markhamrick9078 a lot of the Mustangs which had the Michelin TRX wheels went to the 15 inch "telephone dial" wheels or the 16 inch "star" wheels.
@@frankdenardo8684 Yeah, they did! Star wheels are a great choice.👍
Yeah, this car came with the little half sized star wheels
Sweet had the same one in white!!
Me too!
Love mustang's but hate a red interior.
Only thing is that clutch pedal would drive me crazy.
Yea, that’s impossible to fix in two seconds.
Gotta hand it to Ford of Europe for the horn on the stalk idea. It was a common thing for most European cars back in the day, and Ford used it on all of its passenger cars in the early eighties, including Lincoln.
1983 was the final year Dearborn put the stalk mounted horn switch on the Mustang(probably across the board of their lineup). I owned the European made(German) Ford Capri(most refer to them as Mercury since the Lincoln-Mercury dealerships sold them) and it had the turn signal stalk mounted horn switch, also a foot-mounted wiper/washer pump(most American cars had that location for the high-beam switch).
Hopefully, whoever owns this Mustang now, has fixed all the issues and is enjoying it. Very nicely equipped model(T-Tops, Sport seats, A/C, power windows). 1983 was also the final year that the GT came in only a manual transmission version(well, all 1982-1983 5.0L Mustang/Capris were manual only).
@@05gtdriver I think '84 was the final year for the horn stalk, but you could be right. Didn't know about '83 being the last year for the manual, though.
@johndrake2729 The 1984 models received a newly styled steering wheel. GTs were equipped with an SVO style wheel(non-cruise) or an LTD style with vertical spokes(cruise equipped), and the horn was moved to the center hub of steering wheel.
Horn is on your blinker lol
That * squeaking * sounds like the seagul on 'Family Guy.' :P
Not the greatest looking cars but man they are a blast to drive!
Hey y'all...can someone explain where the term foxbody came from? Just curious.
If I remember right Ford called the chassis code named fox.
Nick, I just filled the cart with Lindon Broil, good your uncle likes
Had a 84 similar to this one. Always liked the dash and those seats where comfy in cloth. Those gauges have always been a joke on the four eyes. 10k seems steep on this one.
Not a test drive in an old GT unless you get that rear locked around the corner and get her little sideways! I think I got $9k for my '83 when I traded it in 1985 :) Around here in Northern New England, any decent old GTs are selling at 8-10 grand. Thinking back, I liked the SROD ( which all along I thought was a T-10) trans in my Mercury Capri H.O. better than the "fragile" T5, but not it's wide ratios. Talking horsepower, Remember the '79 Cadillac Fleetwood Big Block 425 only put out 180 HP around then. - Sandy
This car should have a carfax available to verify mileage and any accidents.
I keep my1987 5.0 mustang McLaren convertible top it's more fun $8500.00 dollars and has 58000.0. Miles
That clutch. :( This looks awesome !
I would put a little oil on that clutch pedal.
I wonder how many women rode in that car wearing booty shorts through out the 80's and 90's .....
Nthg like a lil WD 40 on that clutch paddle an tighten it up. Change the wheels to American Mag.
Nice 5.0 pony!!
A 5spd Gt foxbody needs a clutch? No way :)
Use conventional oil
2:23 LOL he doesn't know yet
Looks better in charcoal grey with red interior. Black American mags wheel.
Irritating how Red interior GTs got the Black steering wheel/column, and not Red like the GLX. Easy to swap-out for a Red one.
I may be wrong but isn't this the body style everyone is dropping Coyote engines in?
Man, the videos are great, and the cars are fantastic! Not sure if you are familiar with Autohaus of Naples, but you should have your own Maryann do the test drives. Nothing like a sexy girl to help sell cars!
$9950?
You think you would check these cars out before you show them.
Here you go fox body
$9950!? It’s an 83’ in a horrible color.
Horrible color? That Red was popular as Hell in 80s on them Mustangs. Beautiful color!
@@joejones9944the red "was" popular, but $9900 is fair these are impossible to find complete, solid, clean with the Ttops and TRX suspension option.
I'd like to have that
Doubt this one will last long.
I give $6800.00 for it
Damn, someone paid 9 grand for that? I should ask way-more for mine, then.
I think Free Bird might be a better introduction song
❤️💯❤️👍👍🇺🇸👍🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🆒
Got pull the engine no power put in new 302 because that engine only got 175 🐎 power got to put money in the car 4000 at most I will pay I used to have one
@@bigrr64 I used to have one that model year got a lot of problems the t tops leak the motor has no power the clutch cable breaks if you want a fox body get a 90s one not a 80s one
88 k miles too much lack of power
