Why was he recruited with Operation Paperclip? What was the first thing he did in the United States? When did he rise and become famous in the United States? What did he do at NASA? Wernher von Braun was a German pure Aryan man, a Prussian, a SS officer and brilliant rocket scientist. Without him, the Americans could not made own successful Rocket and Space program. That are the facts of truly and non hidden history. PS: They were not like him, but they needed him, after 1945. RIP!
He had a token SS rank from Himmler, by comparison Alfred Krupp was a General each had no military powers.
@@DavidISHERWOOD-iu1xn Yes! But, some was on the front. Like Dr Mengele. People does not know nothing about SS. Especially, many Hollywood bad war movies. You got Algemeine and Waffen SS. And many people even does not recognize SS ranks. For example, Heinrich Himmler was Reichsfuhrera and that was the highest rank in the SS. In the alternative history movie, John Smith was just one rank low under 62 years old Reichsfuhrera, Heinrich Himmler. Be saluted!
Needed is a bit much lol. America was always going to the moon. They simply put him in charge cause he was already trained.
Aryan & german??
He was xtian germanic man
Aryan word itself is Sanskrit
Not only was WVB a WWII SS Officer, he was a straight up Nazi War Criminal for utilizing forced labor at the underground V-2 rocket factory in Mittelwerk where 20,000 forced labor prisoners were killed.
This was fascinating. I now think they should have made a movie about von Braun's life instead of Oppenheimer's.
Oppenheimer movie is a big lie and propaganda of winner of ww2. Simple as that!
😂 and admit it !!! ?
"He aimed for the stars (but sometimes hit London)"
Mort Saul(I think)
I have a really hard time with Van Braun. He was excellent for the USA with a dark past albeit he renounced Nazism. I’m a teacher and always discussed his war days because he is a national figure and people have a right to know those things. I actually had a previous school remove Van Braun posters because they refused to teach students about his past. I still think about that and if it was the right thing. I don’t mind celebrating his progress for the USA but allow people to understand his past and make their own conclusion. Don’t hide it.
Scientific competence trumps politics, at least in this case. Particularly interesting to me as I was a missile crewman at Fort Bliss and in Germany in the late 1970s. Thank you for presenting this.
imagine, THE Marvelous outcome. if Germania hadn't lost the war!? Great video! Bravo
That was great and I didn't know what happened to him after NASA. If he and his team weren't wanted by the USA they would of stood trial for war crimes which is ironic that many others were imprisoned 10yrs for doing less.
It was a wonderful program introduced about that great scientist Wernher von Braun , he had incredible life in USA 🇺🇸..also in Germany before 1945,, thank you 🙏 ( War academy) channel for sharing this magnificent video
Great scientist???😂😅 he did! He must did experiments on people under Hitler 😂
Dammmmmm we never know ,,,,Never heard about this movie in history class at all man ...

Thank you again! One small correction: the (beautiful) city is called Goslar. Worth a visit.

This the inspiration for doctor Strangelove?
So they say
so was, Tom and Jerry, Episode 153 - O Solar Meow [1967]
Oh yes!
I think Strangelove was more like General Patton !
@@djangorheinhardt No! Dr Strangelove is some mix of some other German scientists who were work for USA, after WW2, on American Nuclear Program. Do you spotted that Dr Strangelove got "crazy hand" who automatically react on German Nazi salute. General Patton is for me the best American military leader of WW2 and he was got nothing Nazi in own personality. Be saluted!
Million of thanks for the valuable content
Your not a war criminal if your smarter than everyone who catches you
You didn't even mentioned Dora or anything of his crimes... He was a criminal and that the USA guard him from justice is just disgusting. He should have spend his life in prison after WWII.
Von Braun wasn’t a scientist or top scientist.
Von Braun was an engineer
Scientists think about things. Engineers build things.
No men ever landed on the moon
Troll
engineers use science to engineer. Without science, there'd be no engineers.
Well, he was also a WWII SS Officer and a straight up Nazi War Criminal for utilizing forced labor at the underground V-2 rocket factory in Mittelwerk where 20,000 forced labor prisoners were killed.
I’m not one to defend SS Nazis but he wasn’t in charge of Mittelwerk. He was in Pennemunde with engineering
Where did all these jets come from
"Ze Rockets go up....who cares where zey come down... That's not my department.." Says Werner Von Braun 😅
His rockets kept hitting London not Mars
👍
Very good. would be better if a human narrated.
German engineering off the charts
Von Braun was lucky not to be hanged at the end of the war.
I agree, but sadly you ALWAYS have to realize what is in it for the American's.. And I'm American.
That was impossible! Because, without SS soldier and scientist like von Braun it would be no American successful Rocket program, Space program and even NASA. Without von Braun in American hands the USSR would be Space power number one. Simple as that! So, neck of Herr von Braun was secured in the USA. PS: And even what is ironic too, wife of Adolf Hitler was Eva Braun ( not von Braun sister ). 🤣Be saluted!
@@DaliborPerkovic-sw8mh you might be right about America not having a rocket program without Von Braun, that's not what I'm on about. The British wanted to put him on trial because of civilian casualties caused by the V1 and V2 rockets so had they'd got him they would have hanged him, no doubt.
@@robertnicholson1409 Yes! London was first city ( in the history ) hitting by first missile rockets ( V2 ) and flying machines ( V1 ) today known like Patriots or Tomahawks. All that in that time "Made in Germany" and innovated by brilliant Aryan engineer, Wernher von Braun. They really wanted hanged him, no doubt. But, that SS guy was a Genius about missiles, like Napoleon in warfare. So, Americans catch him and that was for next 34 years nothing about hanging of that German. Because, he was responsible for even two precious American programs - Missile and Space programs. Simple as that! Dr Mangele was not so lucky. He was also a Genius about Eugenic science in that time. But, the Jews wanted hanged him too. And, he must flee to Argentina, because the Jews are not British. And, same was with Hitler too. Or, you think he died in Berlin, Germany, on 30th of April, 1945? Be saluted!
@@happysingle6240 the end of the second world war saw America on top and Britain was broke. The Americans grabbed all the equipment and German engineers they could get, and took them to America, that's what saved Von Braun.
Von Braun was a Hero!!! 🇺🇸🇩🇪
😢😢😢😭😭😭❤💙💛
Lesser of two evils; if we hadn't used him, the Soviets would have.
Imagine if He was used by the Soviets the world would have been different
@@JDDC-tq7qm Yes, evil socialists would control America today. Oh wait...I guess it would not have made a difference.
Through Genealogy research, I discovered Wernher Von Braun is my cousin on my mother's side. I had never heard of him before that but he was a very smart engineer."
Well Von Brown was given the prince treatment by the US because he had what they didn't have. Other Germans were given the opposite treatment.
By February 28, 1947, it was estimated that 4,160,000 German former prisoners of war, by General Dwight D. Eisenhower relabeled as Disarmed Enemy Forces in order to negate the Geneva Convention, were used as forced labor by the various Allied countries to work in camps outside Germany: 3,000,000 in Russia, 750,000 in France, 400,000 in Britain, and 10,000 in Belgium.
A change in US and UK attitude only came when they were scared that Germans in their zones might go communist.
The Western powers' worst fear by now was that the poverty and hunger would drive the Germans to Communism. General Lucius Clay stated "There is no choice between being a communist on 1,500 calories a day and a believer in democracy on a thousand."
The US and v. Braun were a good fit. Both were opportunists without any morals.
Horrible pronunciation of German names.
You believe in Moon landings? 😂😂😂
no

Yes! It was realized of one SS officer who was loyal to Adolf Hitler. Simple as that! And very ironic stuff for the Americans. And for me too! I enjoy in that truth!
