    What is your favorite drugstore brand? :)

    • @Codyjayartistry
      @Codyjayartistry  4 місяці тому +1

      Basically, drugstore makeup is simply beauty products that you find in your drugstore haha. They also will be the products that are on the more affordable end of the price range. Of course lower prices does NOT mean lower quality :)

      It’s a 3 way tie between Revlon, Mabelline and ELF.

      @CarynHaralson-ji3jl that's a great 3 way tie to have!

      NYX, for sure! Followed by ELF. ELF has had the most AMAZING transformation as a brand since I tried them in the early 90's. They used to write out Eyes Lips Face on their products, and they were pigmentless, disappear-in-10-minutes crap. Now, they're every bit as good as NYX or Milani, imo.😂
      Btw, so glad PopLuxe recommended you! Subscribing!

      @@CodyjayartistryI love NYX and elf. And the few products I've tried from Kokie are good too. Oh, and Milani and L.A. Girl.

    When i think of drugstore i think of CVS bc its the main drugstore in my town. They have alot of makeup but i always walk right to the Elf section. But i only buy essence mascaras. So cheap n so good ❤

    Would actually like to see a full on Avon review. They've had some interesting products. I've only tried like metallic eyeliners a long time ago. But I remember them being good and affordable.

    • @Codyjayartistry
      @Codyjayartistry  4 місяці тому +1

      Unfortunately I can't do that, I'm sorry! Avon is an MLM, which is a very predatory type of "business" structure. It's not something I'd support or use my platforms to bring attention to or review. But the vast majority of my reviews and tutorials are based around affordable brands and products 💖

      @@Codyjayartistry I completely understand that! Have you ever tried stuff only found at Sally beauty? I'd list their makeup as mostly reasonable. ☺

    I never buy luxury makeup or skin care anymore it's not worth it and like you said the name is what your paying for drug store has some if the best. the wet and wild eyeshadow pallettes and the 5 pans are all I use I swear they are amazing esp the one with the bronze glitter in the middle it's so good it stays on w no glitter glue. I'm telling you all of them are so so good

    Hello. I’m an old grumpy dad with a 12yo son turning 13 in a month. His skin has been breaking out for a while and I don’t know squat about skincare. I made him an appointment for a dermatologist but that’s almost 4 months away. Im the interim I wanted to help him so I remembered as a kid all the hubbub about Proactive so I bought it for him. I then began trying to learn about skincare to some extent and saw your video about how much you dislike that stuff. Now I’m at a loss and was hoping you might be able to help me help him.
    Sorry to ramble I’m just at a loss of how to help him and I remember being so embarrassed about my skin as a kid and want to help him avoid what I went through.
    So if you might be able to help or point me in a direction I’d really appreciate the help. Thanks regardless!

      Happy to help! Since he is so young his skin really is delicate and he definitely does not need anything too strong right now because you want to protect his Skin Barrier which is basically like the invisible layer on top of his skin that really protects it from environmental aggressors. Since he's at that age where hormones can start kicking in and a lot of things are changing a lot of his acne can be caused by that and of course it could be caused by diet and environmental things as well.
      There are plenty of affordable products from brands you can find at stores like Walmart such as Cerave, Neutrogena, and brands similar to that.
      I'd stick with a gentle cleanser to keep his skin clean morning and night. A gentle ALCOHOL FREE toner on a cotton round morning and night to really keep the skin bacteria free, and then just one acne fighting product such as a salicylic acid based mask once per week or a niacinamide based serum. Those ingredients will be listed on the front of most products:)
      The serum is more of a daily use product, while a mask is more of a once per week "booster" kind of a product.
      You don't want him using too many products because that can cause more harm than good, especially with his skin not being used to using a lot of product :)

    Just rewatched this one and I have to ask.. why prep the eyelids? Is there any special reason? I never have done that before.

    • @Codyjayartistry
      @Codyjayartistry  4 місяці тому

      Yes. It creates a base for the eyeshadow. It cancels out discoloration on the lids so your shadows show true to color, it helps intensify the shadow payoff, makes blending easier, reduces any patchiness of the eyeshadow, reduces shadow creasing, makes eyeshadow last longer, and eyeshadow primer is formulated specifically to counteract the eyelids natural oiliness.

    No, I will not spend that kind of money on make up now. My pallets because I buy from Indy brands. I’ll spend 50 or I’ll wait till they’re on sale. I don’t like Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have like four of their pallets and I don’t even use them. I like Indie brands I buy them when they’re on sale.. Bethany Frankel can spend as much money as she wants on any make up and she uses drugstore brand. She feels they’re better. She has Gucci stuff and she said it doesn’t even have the pigment that it needs to have for Gucci and the products are less than what you would get in drugstore brands I really want to get that Lottie, London blush and the lipstick before I go to Kentucky. I also want to get that highlighter from Lottie, London.
