  • The first Earth Day was in 1970. Since then, our population has doubled. On average, each person is eating more meat, throwing out more plastic, and producing 21% more CO2. Our habits on land are recorded in the oceans. See what’s changed for our oceans since 1970, and how you can take action.

That does make a good point, because even with Earth Day, we still didn't do enough to help our earth. But obviously we need to do something before it's too late.

This is a great concise video. We do science Sunday every week on a friend’s channel. We are doing Earth day this Sunday. Do you mind if we present this video?

Hello AMNH. I'm a big fan of your informative and educational animations. Trakinski, Moustakerski, Krasinski, Porzecanski. Are these American family names of Polish origin?

It is difficult today not to think of oneself as one who lives during the "last generation"- but we must not let ourselves think so.... Thank you for the post.

We'll succeed, we'll make it to a sustainable, vibrant, responsible society!! Because rational people, people who look at the evidence, who want to solve real problems and don't make up fake ones ... we think long-term. People and institutions that push for irrational agenda don't have this capacity, otherwise they would better assess their self-interest. They will progressively loose the grip. Crucial is: do your best to be part of the solution, not a bit less!!!

None of this will matter as long as the human population keeps increasing. There is a positive correlation between consumption (pollution) and human population growth, and an inverse correlation between population growth and environmental degradation......it's not that hard to figure out the real problem here people.

We the People want to combine "Earth Day" with "We Are the People Day" in the year 2020. We the People want to strengthen our commitment to saving Mother Earth by working with Mr. Lionel Richie, The Michael Jackson Family and the Earth Day Network. This anthem has motivated millions across the globe to become activists in their own way. Together we can change the world! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to send this message.
