Interesting and I'm so glad to learn different style to prepare this lovely halwa....Quite similar with my Mum version... My mum method; add cooking oil and put in cinnamon leaves and wait until fragrances... then take off the leaves and pour in the dough solutions and sugar... add colouring, nuts at the final stage... You can only use ghee.
if you use oil , then the taste will be different & it won't be good.
