The brewtus would have showed better in this to see the dirty water / detergent discharging.

I've never used any detergent, ever! As long as you regularly backflush with water that's fine. Descaling also should be done professionally using ultra sounds as using citric acid, vinegar or ready made solutions can ruin your boiler. It happened to my Andreja Quick Mill corroding the copper boiler! After descaling the water comes out greenish. It's wiser to use filter/purified water to prevent limescale formation.

Bruno Miorin I respectfully disagree with most of this. Use a designated descaler like dezcal. Vinegar and other home remedies will also damage the rubber washers. You SHOULD descale your machine. These are not complex, and your user manual guides you. Lastly, DO use a detergent made for back flushing. It’s the only thing that can touch the buildup. I can promise you that!

As I said descaling should be done professionally. I've clearly been told this by professionals in Italy. As long as you use filtered water you are fine. My machine runs smoothly unlike the one which was descaled unfortunately. As for the back flushing I'm not sure if a detergent would be good.
