I only have one problem with this and that is keeping lobsters with berries or eggs!!! I have nothing against Joe as he needs to make a living plus I class him, as a mate but I still stand by my morals and will never take a berried lobster EVER!!!!! IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL
I was just saying that to the Mrs…. If I ever catch a keeper but has eggs for me it has to back.
It's illegal over here to land a Berried hen, and we have a v notch system that if a female is v notch she can't be kept till its grown out as it means she's an egg carrier. Some of the brown crabs looked on the small side. And why on earth is he keeping starfish for is the a market for them there?

All I can say is I am a Maine lobster 🦞 man and him keeping the ones with the seeds ya no the baby lobsters is fuxking dum. How is there going to be a fishing industry in years to come if they keep doing thst ?? There is not going to be. If u did thst where I am from u find ur baot on bottom and ur gear cut the fuck off because I woukd probably be the person to do it. I have kids and I won't th4m to be able to lobster and peps like this is the reson they can't keep keeping the seeders bud. Ur so cool 😎 !! Lol 😆

How come you take the star fish?
Everything looks brand new, even the Crew's wet gear. Is this a new venture, or just a New Boat. The pace of work and the general handling of everything looked a wee bit awkward but no doubt it will improve. By the way, this is not a criticism just an observation, loved the video.

Love this sort of thing, but that is one of the most inefficient ways of working pots, It's like going back in time. The hauler is off as the pot is opened, cleared, re-baited and closed by one man. The "Mate" stands there measuring the catch and stacking pots. Not good. We would have been heavily fined for landing berried Lobsters, but the rules seem to be different in Guernsey. Shouldn't do it anyway, greed will kill it in the end.....😎😎

do they keep all crabs or just males? if so, how do the see that?
Diz hello you can keep females but not a lot of people do when they have eggs you can tell the difference by turning the lobsters back up and feel the swimmerets if hard it’s a male if soft it’s female hope that held 🦞👍

Bait is put through a band behind the entrance. Wouldn’t be easy to do through the parlour
Why do you use those big rubber bands over there? Such a waste of material and time. Order some lobster bands and a bander. If you can't get them over there, order from over here in the USA
