Had to find an older episode after I got a bit into his final one, he looked so gaunt and everyone was clearly just heartbroken. Definitely eases the sting being able to see him healthy in older episodes. I only discovered his comedy very recently, but his loss was absolutely a blow to everyone.
I'm from the US, and I don't know how it happened, but Ive learned about panel shows about two months ago starting with WILTY, and I've been addicted ever since.
The way Rachel got to 682 - how on earth did she even start that thought process?!!! She's done some awesome stuff but some, like this one, seem like nothing less than sorcery.
I can normally get them but I'm always battling the clock. This time however I strangely got that one reasonably fast but used a different method to Rachel: 6 / 2 x 9 x 25 + 7=682. My thought process was that I could possibly get to 675 using some multiple of 25 and then just add the 7 so I spent most of the time working out what that multiple was and how to get it with the remaining numbers
@@Makka316 honestly, thank you for sharing your thought process on this. I swear Catsdown has helped me with my numerical processing, but I always wish they’d allow Rachel to show multiple avenues.
I highly recommend everyone go listen to Ivo Graham's episode of the Off Menu podcast, where he tells a small (but hilarious) story about meeting Richard Ayoade on this episode. About 11:34 in. (Also highly recommend that podcast in general, it's hosted by James Acaster and Ed Gamble and features a lot of panel show regulars.) EDIT - Ha, I forgot that show has dynamic ads so the times shift around sometimes. It’s roughly around 12 minutes in. Probably. 🙃
@Jason Ericson What's your favourite Off Menu guest so far? I haven't listened to them all, but I really liked Greg Davies, Tom Allen, Roisin Conaty, Phil Wang, Romesh Ranganathan, and Nish Kumar! All great episodes!
He was sitting in his chair when they talked to him, they just cut in wide shots where Jimmy had left his chair to make it seem like the gymnast was Jimmy.
This show is not a guilty pleasure anymore. It is a coping mechanism
Why would it ever be a "guilty" pleasure? It's hilarious, and unlike anything else on TV, except, you know, Countdown.
Lol for real it is
1000%
Totally agree

If pcrobec ever stops posting these videos I may need to relocate to the UK

So nice to be able to watch Sean Locke for another entire episode!
I absolutely adore how Daisy is genuinely pissing herself the entire time :D
Mildly surprised that "arse" was the only four letter word she found, after her performance on Taskmaster.
Farewell Sean! Love from Sweden! Thank you for all the laughs ❤️

US TV kind of sucks once you start watching panel shows
Jimmy fresh from an oil change.. Looking mighty slick
To be fair, my cat loves me, but if I brought her on a show in front of that many people, she'd give the exact same reactions as that bird.
It’s Saturday night where I live. Time for another Cats Countdown from pcrobec! Thank you!
I figured out the conundrum before they did and honestly, that was the highlight of my quarantine.
I have lost count the number of times I have rewatched multiple episodes and still don’t ever get the teaser before the break.
I like Richard, but the show doesn’t seem right without Jon.
where is john anyways ?
@@petar2761 They taped this in early 2019, so he might have been on tour or doing his own show that he has with wife Lucy Beaumont
Old episodes were better, but that's the great thing about UA-cam, plenty of old vids to watch.
I thought he decided to stay home after what they did to him in the last episode.
@@guyincognito5663 and what did they do to him in that episode?

Sean: Can I have a German word?
Jimmy: Yeah, sure.

Everytime Richard is on here and mentions a book he has written I can't tell if it's a joke or not and have to Google it to check.
I cannot hear “we will fight them on the beaches” without thinking of James Acaster
I think of Greg Davies' impression.
I love how the panel all address the chair while "Jimmy" is spinning in his hoop.

Greetings from down under pcrobec. Thanks for being such a reliable uploader, your efforts are greatly appreciated.
All this cleverness AND Rachel Riley on her knees playing with balls!

Thanks so much, pcrobec.
First time in ages Dictionary Corner was funny.
Last letters game was interior, sad I know but I'm stuck in isolation so find this programme amusing as well as a great time killer.
"A show that's 70% about being good at math, and 50% about being English good" is so brilliant. Almost didn't catch that one.
Have I been watching too much cats does countdown or was Jimmy's putdown of Rachel one that's been used previously?
sounds familiar to me, too.
It was about doing numbers as well as letters.
He's used it before. It's been a while. They've also already had a Countdown Golf Set, but it was just clubs, not the green.
Yep
His put down on Susie was also used before.
I about lost it when Claude yelled at her!
John Lewis ad was the best thing Adam Buxton has ever done. Hilarious
thank you!
omfg. I'm never gonna watch that Blue Planet episode the same ever again! haha!
The standard of comedy on this show is so high, how does Adam Buxton get away with reading UA-cam comments?
Thanks, this was a pretty good one!
As always you're a bloody champion pcro. Thank you so much, and safety and health to you and yours today and always. Be safe
Can I just say the thumbnail of Rachel in that dress is perfection
I feel like Joe Wilkinson and Noel Fielding would make a great comedy duo.
I was thinking the same! Something about the fortune teller race made me think of Noel ahah!

Richard is the best possible replacement for Jon, but i really want both of them on the show at the same time!!
Thank you pcrobec!
They were this close together in August 2020??? Seems crazy now haha.

This was a really transformative episode for me, the next time nicki minaj releases a song eatingfur ariana grande i will think about this
Champion 🏆 !!
Richard Ayoade.
Oh my.
Does Joe just have a cache of old ladies lined up for all these Sketches
Anyone else catch the subtle Vordeman reference when Joe showed Jimmy the magazine?
I genuinely don't know if that View from the Top bit is supposed to be Richard not knowing he's already done that on this show or not
@alphadawn2015 lennon He did it with "White Chicks" too so I think its just a theme he's going for.
He did it on Graham Norton I think when promoting his book.
This is an older recording of the show, from circa 2018-2019. Ayoade on Top (the book he mentions will be for sale soon) was published in 2019.
Is there any way to view the complete unedited recordings of these shows ?
Great show, even if I missed Jon Richardson. Hope Ivo will be back some time.
Why would you hope that someone who isn't even remotely funny would be back? You can always just drink bleach if you want to torture yourself?
do you know when the other 8 out of 10 cats show resumes? will you be uploading it?
True legend for posting @pcrobec :) Any chance you can post #8outof10cats w/o the countdown. More laughs, less maths. Cheers mate,
It's so weird to see Susie losing her temper even as an act.
So can anyone tell me why Carr stopped doing the little intro in front of the clock?
fabio is such a good sport!
@Nicole Yatawara did you mean sort, or was the p intentional?
Ivo looks so happy to be there! Love it! Where's Jon?
Sean is correct about what is in a taxidermied items. They are only just the skin of the item stretched over a form made from rehydrated foam.

Does it mean I watch this too much when I see Adam Buxton and automatically assume he's in the Dictionary Corner? :)
Firstly, thanks pcrobec. Secondly, I love this show to death, but this was the least I've smiled in all the shows that I've watched.
I felt the same. Well, at least Adam Buxton was his usual hilarious self.
The dynamics of the cast did not work in this episode.
When was this recorded? Pre-pregnancy? Dent is also glassless again.
I know they record several of these in a day so did Rachel have her baby between the second and third taping of the day?
this one was apparently recorded before those. she doesn't have a ring, either, so it's pre-pregnancy. I saw March 2019 somewhere, but can't verify.
Oh, so the series number is just the year its released?
About time for Ivo to be a contestant. It's nice to see some new faces on the show.
Jimmy does a head whip instead of the turn and head wobble.
9:15 - I actually thought he said "Hay"...
It's always nice with some new faces.
toeings?
Yaaaaaasssss
Adam Buxton is always a highlight.
Did this episode only just air recently? Ayoade's book came out last fall.
He was promoting the paperback release in 2019, when this was filmed.
On a show with a parrot, did anyone notice that Richard and Ivo have birds on their shirts?
4:00 omg lmao I can't believe they're still making fun of Carol Vorderman.
When Joe showed Jimmy the porno mag, he said "She used to have Rachel's job, didn't she?"
Not used to seeing Ivo without the lock in beard now.
