Somewhat inaccurate in content. Bill Decker was the sheriff of Dallas County until his death in 1970.....he did not leave office in 1946 as indicated in the video. He did not even become the high-sheriff until 1949. Not sure why the error given that Jim Gatewood wrote a biography of him. Decker was only the chief deputy in 1938 when he talked to Binion after Joey Civello was arrested....author's dramatic license perhaps?
Maybe it was how it was spelled at birth OR it was a mix of Ben and Binion. Im sure they wouldnt misspell his name, it would be such a dumb mistake. Im sure it was on purpose.
