Gosh, Gene Kelly always looked well. He didn't age as much as his peers. Even in Xanadu in 1980 he looked marvellous especially on those rollerskates. I just loved him in Singin' In The Rain, who didn't?
If there could be an epitome of a perfect fine classy beautiful woman of that era, it was Barbara Rush. Great performances in so many films. Her awesome feminine presence is dazzling. Do we have any actresses today with even an ounce of her aura?
I was shocked. Gene was an adult in the 30s and being in show biz thought for sure he was aware of Barrymores nickname. He guessed movies, why would the 1st clue be shadow for movies ?
No one has mentioned that the first contestant was a computer programming specialist when computer programming required so much more than it does today. He had to have been incredibly smart.
I'm surprised the contestants never seem starstruck meeting some of the biggest stars of the time. I certainly would have been if I'd had to play with Gene Kelly. It amazes me that this show managed to attract people like him.
I wish people today were this polite and mature. When one of the clues is "master....(11:29)" and no one takes the bate, you know it was a different time.
I will say, they did give excellent clues for "Plan" but the first word I was thinking of might be "Itinerary." Blueprint and "masterrrrr" were both pretty good as well!
somehow even before watching this episode I had an inkling the word 'Tap' would appear on it with Gene Kelly as a guest star, well surprise, surprise not only did it appear, but so did the word 'Rush'; and wouldn't you know it, Barbara Rush, was the other guest star......but I'm sure it's all a big coincidence.
Can anyone decipher what Gene Kelly said at 3:09 as a clue? I played it many times over and could not discern the word used. It sounded something like "Flatols" (like a combination of bottles and the word flat). Thanks in advance!
Pretty sure he said "auto" as in "automobile". He was betting on the contestant inferring it was a vehicle and guessing it was an ambulance based on the past clue, “sirens".
Can anyone tell what Gene Kelly gave for a clue for "Ambulance? About 3 minutes in. I have the CC on, and I turned up the volume, but I do not understand what he said. The CC print posted "aho". Also, did anyone understand the contestant's clue for the word "Tap" at about the 10:36 mark? He spoke so quietly that the CC did not function.
really? they use 'tap'? I haven't even watched this yet but am thinking 'I'll bet they use the word 'Tap' or 'Dance' for Gene's sake which would prove the words are hand picked. I did see the first 2 clues however. For Ambulance the word Siren was the first clue then Gene said automobile for the winning clue.
23:10 (of course back then I guess nobody in the audience would have laughed… in today's world that's a little bit more of an LOL then it would have been back then :-)
People had such class and dignity back then.
Hey! I got class out the ass!

Yes, he does not look sick.
For some reason my mother hated Gene Kelly. I never understood why. I love his work.
He would have been 53 here. Looks good!
I love Gene Kelley! He never seemed to age!
He looks great!
Yeah. NObody likes old people.
She’s still alive at 94 ive always loved her since I watched her on Peyton Place when I was in my early teens
She just passed away today. RIP
Barbara Rush was *SO* ladylike, prim and proper!
I also think of the word poised ! 🐩
R.I.P. Barbara Rush
Gene looked uptight at the beginning, but slowly loosened up as he won games and did well.

She was EXQUISITE!!! what a beauty!
Good grief. Build her a church.
@@jamesmcinnis208 She is still going strong at 95
@@lindavangalder879 Good for her!
Jennifer Lawrence?
Oh Gene is beautiful when he's serious 😁😍😍😍💃
I luv when the men scored on the word corset !! 🦋
Ms. Rush celebrated her 90th birthday in Jan.
Did u send a card ?

Yes. She passed away yesterday.
Claudia Donnelly, an excellent player, and so gorgeous too.
Yes and she was sure eyeing Gene Kelly and flirting with him. I think she was hoping he felt something for her too!
Both guest stars were excellent players.
Good episode. Everyone played well except for the contestant that did not know Los Angeles is two words. Barbara Rush was "easy-on-the- eyes".
RIP Barbara Rush
I'm surprised Gene didn't get profile, he had a beautiful one, himself.
Your comments always give me a belly laugh 😂😂😂👏👏👏

Connect the clues !!!!!
@@joeambrose3260 I'll look at it again, Joe, but I thought the clue was Profile, not The Profile. It it was just profile, I would have said cameo.
@@susanlloyd7395 Don't get it. Why would you say cameo for profile?

BOY! They sure played fast in those days.
love barbara, a smartie.
I just love the partner of Gene who can't stop giggling and touching him. That would be me.
hot for teacher.
People were so sophisticated
This just in: Barbara Rush alive at 96! Will turn 97 in January.
She passed away today. RIP
gene was always putting his own clues down, when they didnt win. good man !!
Gene Kelly and Barbara Rush were excellent and well played Password players. Very educated.
I was watching another episode recently, and the password was "boner". LOL
Enjoyed!
Second time I've seen the word 'profile,' and both times "Barrymore" was given as a clue.
These two celebs didn't act like they had as much fun as most of them.
I'm surprised the contestants never seem starstruck meeting some of the biggest stars of the time. I certainly would have been if I'd had to play with Gene Kelly. It amazes me that this show managed to attract people like him.
Gene looks so serious
susan lloyd haha he's so competitive. But then flashes that disarming smile...what a weapon lol
I was teasing. I adore Gene Kelly.

i loved gene kelly in inherit the wind
What is this, be kind to bigots week?
That how old this show is .They wouldn't dare think tha a bachelor may not be celibate back then.
I will say, they did give excellent clues for "Plan" but the first word I was thinking of might be "Itinerary." Blueprint and "masterrrrr" were both pretty good as well!
Just a hunch, but I think the correct-answer bell used here was the same one used in '80s *"Pyramid."*

Brrrr...Kelly is chilly.
How come Gen went first on that second one? Alan said before how the lady always goes first (and they always have, so why did he go first)?
The male celebrity always goes first on the 2nd game.
How about Gene Kelly... dancer
Why were the female actors on the left side ?
silhouette for profile.
These celebrities seem distracted...in the beginning.
I was surprised to learn that Gene Kelly was an atheist. Said that he couldn't accept belief in God when the world was filled with so much suffering.
That's arrogance.
Well he now knows if there is a God or not ! Did you notice his one partner was married to a minister ? 🕊
Well, I was surprised Gene Kelly was only 5'7" !
No, insisting on the existence of the invisible, unknowable and unprovable is arrogance.

well that's the way for women to make their husbands happy, buy a lot of clothes when visiting Paris.
