@@TimDEagle Think you'll find I'm 'alright' when it comes to lifting, 'bro'. If there's one thing few people are going to beat me at, it's bloody weight lifting
I had pneumonia back in March 2020, which led me to having COVID-19. I hope your wife gets through this medical episode, and hopefully, you and the rest of your family stay healthy. Great content as always.
Amazing job rob. Take it easy enjoy the draft, the hard work is done. I hope you and your wife feel better soon. Gin is what typically helps me through these situations.
Also wanted to add that you sold me on Darius Robinson. I don't really watch college, so I don't know any of these kids, but I had a look at his highlights. I don't know if I've seen a player with such notable arms as his. He pumps them for power to get going and he can finish one handed tackles consistently with his dual 24 inch pythons
Love you Rob! Thanks for all your hard work and sharing weekly updates of your thoughts on the Seahawks approach. I hope you and your family feel better soon. The draft is a fun watch for hardcore fans like us! 😅
Rob, as every year for the past 4 years that I have been following you: tremendous work. Amazing draft coverage, I am so glad I discovered you back then. Appreciate all you do! You are an absolute BAMF. I'll chime in with another donation on my way to work after staying up all night to watch the draft ;) greetings to the UK from Germany
I love the video and your thoughts, Rob! Outside of the Top-6, some weird things could happen. I liked your breakdown and analysis of your thoughts and why they would fit Seattle’s mindset. Does Darius Robinson usher Dre’Mont Jones out the door? I am waiting for some crazy report to drop this week to either tank someone’s stock or skyrocket. I look forward to your final draft Wednesday and discussing draft picks Thursday and on! Thanks for all you do and the time to doing it well
Thank you for soldiering on while sick. I’ve had pneumonia as well and it’s a booger. In regards to misdirection of the O-line, I feel like everyone has forgotten about the QB selfie tour last year, and then Devon witherspoon was taken. And now today, a report came out saying that the hawks promised Byron Murphy that he wouldn’t make it past them. Is it possible that John is saying all this about IOL and maybe even leaking the knee “issue” with fautanu and now the Byron Murphy promise to help with a fall to 16?
Thanks 4 ur hard work !. JS & Mike Mac shud spend tonight in prayer & meditation, then sleep well to access the higher thinking part of their brains and then finalise their draft plan on weds morning 08.00 am to 09.00 am. 3rd great draft in a row incoming & I hope they gather picks for next year's treasure trove draft & also move up to pick 9 or 10 this year by trading away injury prone Dre Jones & Uchenna & expensive Myers. Prof AGH.
Go Hawks. Enjoy the draft, loved your takes in the build up. Hope you and your wife get well soon. I'm in Australia and my 3 yo has pneumonia atm as well 😅
Thanks for all your efforts Rob. Would definitely prefer Barton over Robinson but the fact that Cosell likes him is encouraging. However, I don't think John will go interior o-line first pick unless the talk of Gs being overpaid was all smokescreen. Rob Staton: quite possibly the hardest working man in the football media
Love the point of how ravens weren’t locked into specific types of defenders. That’s the whole “defensive genius” part of MM. he doesn’t need that. He can adapt and get the most. Or at least that’s why we hired him
A good late round LB option is Tatum Bethune from FSU. He has good instincts and likes to hit. He could be a core special teamer in the short run and a possible starter in a year. I think he's being criminally underrated.
Also, one thing I’ve been thinking, our DL is not terrible, and MM has shown he can develop and maximize DL. Like you said we need physicality 100%, but Madubuike wasn’t doing much before. I feel there will be DL later on with the physicality we want, and we can afford to limit their playing time early on. Makes more sense to go OL, or just BPA. Only DL in our range I’d take round 1 is Newton and Sweat. Sweat gonna fall. I want a solid OG, a few early pieces on defense, and a value TE in maybe the 5th. Also, our roster future is set up for us to open up our draft board. Both starting LBs and both starting safeties are free agents next year. We can add to that group, and either they ball out and we get a good comp pick, or we can resign them since they aren’t big money guys anyway. And have our future plan in place already developing. That would open up future drafts for more targeted improvements, or even targeting a QB after a trade up in the future while still filling what holes are left with the big money we’ll have then. We’re in good shape!! Go Hawks!
I don’t think I could handle an edge rusher being taken with our first round pick and then have to wait til the 3rd round. Like can we get the ones we took with a top 40 pick get on the field first before thinking about adding another?
Lane Johnson has been mentoring T.Guyton at Oklahoma, wonder if they allow him to groom his successor like they did with Kelcie..If they stay and keep capital, he should be there. KC GM said the other day his biggest regret was drafting M.Hardman over DJ Metcalf, would be interesting to see if in their pursuit of 3, never been done, they throw a monster offer Seattle's way for DJ... I think Macdonald would have a bigger interest in Cooper from Iowa then D.Robinson but he has Seahawk character. I am 100% onboard with you regarding Rattler, If Washington offered 2 early 2nd rd picks to move to #16 for last tckl on board & we came away with Rattler & Clemson D tckl, I would be very excited about that.
I’d like to see them trade back and I think that’s most likely but I also have just a feeling that we could see a surprise pick at 16. Similar to Bruce Irvin. Again, just a feeling so I won’t go too far into that. But McDonald may want a guy who he is “sure” about and knows he can use and would make a big impact on how he can run the defense. I could see John getting that guy for Mike over getting more capital, if there is a guy Mike is that confident about. With the reports that Spoon may be following receivers now, it’s going to be very important to have corners across the field you can trust. Woolen is our only “outside corner” on our roster. With Spoon probably following slot guys, and sometimes safety, I feel that could be an underrated positional target for us. Say Terrion Arnold falls to 16 for example, that might be enough for them to stick and pick
@@robstatonfootball It's rare for even top TEs in any draft to get drafted in the top 15. Bowers could star for the Hawks for 10-15 years.
