Soul, soul. But whatever, it’s just the sound of perfection. He can hit every note on purpose not just out of chance: he has always been an incredible force to be reckoned with. His control and richness of vocals make Bobby Hatfield a shining example for every singer. Rest in peace Bobby we miss you.
A few minutes ago I heard "A change is gonna come" by Sam Cooke and I thought to myself that this would be a proper song for Bobby Hatfield. And I was right. Here I am listening to him. Great song and two great singers. 👍
@@teresadavilasoares6136 The orchestration is actually very similar to Sam Cooke's original recording. "Soul" is not determined by orchestration, but the feeling it evokes in the listener. Bobby's 1966 recording was intended as a tribute to Sam Cooke who was murdered in 1964. Now of course different artists poured their own heart and soul into it, like, e.g. Otis Redding. The beauty in music appreciation is that you can allow yourself to like many different versions of a single original. There is no competition. Unless, of course, performed by someone who has only marginal talent and just uses technology to create a commercial product.
What! I listen to them and love them but I never knew they sang this song!!! WOW!!! should not surprise me though :) Truly blessed PURE TALENT untouched with all these computer correcting devices these days.
Wow, this guy belts out soul music with such a flair. Only Bobby Hatfield can do this to whatever piece of music he chose to sing. That voice and that man, Wow.
Sam had a political epiphany and wròte/sang songs to raise consciousness. He was also terribly good looking. If you saw Hòusebòat with Sophia L. and Cary Grant, in the dance scene you can hear Sam C. so smooth.
I know and appreciate Bobby's beautiful rendition of Sam Cooke's masterpiece, but from recordings only. I wonder if he ever did this live? Have any of you concert-goers ever seen him perform this?
😳 I wasn’t expecting ! I love Otis 🔥 but as soon as Bobby begin I surrendered 🙌. Listening again … I don’t think the orchestra is suited for this song. Should be more like in Summertime !
Great rendition (no one can do it better than Sam, ofc), but I noticed they cut the verse, "I go to the movies/ and I go downtown/ and somebody keeps telling me/ don't hang around."

Bobby could sing anything and beautifull
The Blue-eyed Soul Singer, at his finest.

Thank You for not doing a competition contest. I just listened to both singings and I agree--both are great singings of a great song.
Bobby hits this out of the park. Such soul in his voice and he hits those notes so easy. Love it.
One of the greatest white male singers EVER.
White singers? Singers. Period.
This is Sam Cooke''s for history, but Bobby (and Phil Spector) hit this one out of the park.
Correction: this is not Spector's, but sure sounds a like him.
I really don’t like the orchestra … nothing soul at all
Produced by Bill Medley fir Verve after they left Specter...

Bobby is the best!
Bobby turned out an amazing, unbelievable version of this song. He was bang on.
Amazing vocal from Hatfield. Right there with the original. Would have liked a bigger ending but what's there is gold.
I'm a big fan of Sam Cooke, but wow BH !!!

Simply the best. Even the black bars in Brooklyn carried the righteous brother in their Jukebox.

Unbelievably beautiful

I can't find this song on the album, it has been deleted in the re-releases of
"Soul and Inspiration".
