  • In this video we show you how to install a deployant clasp on a watch that already has a standard prong buckle. It's a very simple procedure, and requires a minimal amount of tools.
Deployant clasps are shown here: www.longislandwatch.com/Deplo...

Thanks for making this video. I didn't know anything about deployant clasps before but I was googling hidden buckles for leather watches and this was the first result. Really clear instructions, and nice close up video.

I have bought 3-4 of these deployant clasps from Long Island Watch and 2-3 from Amazon. I can tell you there is no question in the quality and finishing. The LIW ones are ready to go out of the "box". They are smooth and comfortable with no uncomfortable edges. The amazon ones, while a little more inexpensive, are full of sharp edged and all have needed additional attention to make them comfortable. The Amazon clasps really lack the refinement that the LIW ones have. I end up sitting at computer or TV and using a fine nail file board to radius all the edges on the buttons, frame, buckle side, the strap side. It takes 30-45 minutes plus PER deployant clasp. To me that is not worth saving $10 per clasp. I will only buy the LIW ones from now on.
In full disclosure, I don't know Mark, have never met Mark and am just an occasional customer of Long Island Watch. This was written to hopefully save you the headache I ended up with when ordering cheap. Thx, Joe

One thing to keep in mind, the "U" end that you attach to the buckle end of your band, sometimes you have to shave the band down a bit to make it fit. I have several resin bands that I had to do this to so the clasp would actually attach. Other than that, I am 100% all about deployant clasps helping the bands last way longer!

Perfect vid. I bought a watch with butterfly lock for the firsttime in my life, but the watch seller adjust the strap to loose. So by the vid i’d adjust the strap, and my new watch fits perfectly on my wrist. Normaly i have the famous pin buckle, and of course a strap will be worn out quicly. I not know that you can put the strap without bending in the first lug., so it is saving my crocodile strap for a while. My other watch is also suited with a crocodile strap, so maybe i will put a butterfly lock on it to. I have also a watch with calfskin.
